The Harley softail and touring models compete very well with Indian, from price to specs/performance. But Harley is just leaving money on the table by not going after the more affordable liquid cooled cruiser market that the Indian Scout and Rebel 1100 just dominate. They need to expand the rev max lineup beyond just the Nightster and Sportster S.
I had the 2018 48 special i was gonna get it again until i seen this sport scout 😍 More Hp and torque Damn near same weight why not and its prettier with mire tech!!
Thanks for your review. I will order mine soon. I actually have an Ducati Scrambler Nightshift and this will be my first cruiser. So I was not sure to choose between the 101 and Sport Scout, because I'm used to use more the front brake and having the inverted fork, so it will make sense to have the 101. But I really prefer the black smoke color and I'm not sure I need the 101 suspension and dual breaks. My Indian Garage have only the Bobber and 101 for the test ride. Let's see
If you ever get a chance, I'd love to see your thoughts on the Triumph Bobber in comparison to the Scout. About the same price as the base Sport Scout, classier styling (IMHO) but less tech than the new Scout and definitely less power. The T120 as well if you ever get the opportunity.
I think I have it lined up ! It’ll be a 101. And I’m planning to work the video and have the owner ride my SS and get their thoughts. But in reality. Ss is faster and less comfortable. Handles worse. The 101 being slower but more comfortable and better handling. That’s my thoughts not having ridden them back to back. I prefer speed over comfort in most situations lol.
@@NostalgicMotorcycles heck yeah! I grew up in OP and live out near the beach now, but ride over there from time to time to check out the Indians. Those are my dream bike and hope to afford an Indian one day. Really cool to have found a local rider on here
I think the Nightster S 975. Comparing the Air cooled fat bob may not be the best fit to compare . Air cooled motor should maintain the temp and cannot be stressed as much as liquid cooled motor. Fat Bob has better comfort, torque, space for two up, easy to work on and endless customisation that is easy to access.
18:04 yeah that navigation is too laggy and too slow. The downsides of having everything built in the bike, cheap electronics from the 90s. Freddie Dobbs reviewed the Indian Chief Bobber and he timed the start up of the screen which was just a bit shy of 1 minute long. Baffled Indian fucked this up so badly. Fully decked out this bike is around €30.000 here in Europe. I'm mad because I like the look of the bike, but for that price I'm not going to accept a laggy touch screen.
I fully understand, the screen is laggy. Are there better screens in phones and tablets ect. Yes, vehicle tech has always been slower than mainstream tech it’s how it works. Period. You will be waiting 3-5 years to get what your looking for and by then mainstream will be ahead another 3-5. This is one of those it could be better things but it’s not a reason to not buy the bike it’s just a reason to complain really. The reality is most people have the service for a year and won’t pay for it as you don’t really use it. Phones are faster and more accurate and updated. Still an awesome screen with decent features. Harley has the screen your looking for on the new road and street glides though but it’ll cost you $32,000here In the USA which may be closer to $50 where you are so is the screen really worth $20,000 to you?
I love this model, I am currently seeking to buy it but I am having a hard time deciding the Sport Scout or Scout 101. Local NYC rider, city streets, and Island area. Commute to work, etc.. Which could do it best? Is the 101 worth the extra? Is there a significant difference. Thank you very much for really detailing this video, so helpful
No worries at all. Depends on how much the performance brakes make. In reality they both have similar power. The 101 does have more aggression from 7-9k rpm. But I am not sure a tune in the sport scout won’t make that difference. The brakes and shock adjustability is the big difference. Can you feel it yes. But how much is that premium worth to you really. I can’t answer that for you.
5’10”. I would say go test ride one. You should fit with the controls feeling like mids. They also sell an extension to the forwards to make them 2 inches farther.
Yes it’s fairly friendly and easy to handle. My very heavy. It’s 100hp so stay out of a full wrist twist but ergos size and inputs are very easy to handle. Many people have started on scouts.
Lmfao ehhh it’s not a crazy amount. Obviously the audio controls for a bike with no speaker. But gps will be used probably. The safety stuff you can’t really get around. 🤷🏽♂️ and some people use it all
All that tech stuff ruins the ride... It's not a cool cruiser it's kind of a nerdy laptop. Over all it is a good looking laptop. And there is a lowtech option!!!!❤❤❤ Shame there's such a big time gap for Indians...
I do agree with you about the tech tho. It’s nice but I prefer the stuff with less tech. To be clear I personally like tech to make engines faster and run better. Fuel injection, better materials quick shifter. But not the safety stuff. The rest of the ridablity studd is cool but not necessary like heated grips and cruiser control. I’m not against it but don’t care for it.
Seems really great, but I DO NOT WANT a rolling computer network on two wheels. I just want a motorcycle. Can't anyone tell the difference anymore? If I want GPS I can use my phone, or a Garmin, therefore I don't have a use for a truncated version that's built in to the bike. And a bike that tracks my every movement is, you all have to admit it, kinda creepy and New World Order-ish. You know it's true.
@NostalgicMotorcycles @NostalgicMotorcycles Oh, sorry, well I'm still angry about all that woke Harley BS since nothing within that company has changed and they treat their loyal partners (older, smaller dealerships and shops, customers that made HD great back in the days) like sh..., so no I don't want to see the Harley "sparkling" Davidson.
Lmaoo I get it. But in reality the news and what you see at dealers are 2 different things. News is Harley the manufacturing company. Dealers are personally owned and not corporate. They do have rules but those are 2 different things. Plenty of employees and owner are mad about it too.
Got mine 2 weeks ago. I love it! Gets tons of attention. First real bike I've ever bought.
Heck ya man. What color ?
I'm selling my harley. Harley is made in the state.. Harley is also owned by vangaurd a.k.a Blackrock..those who seek and control humanity
Interesting. I did not know this 🤔🤔🤔 I’ll do my research

One of the best reviews I’ve seen on the new scout.
Thank you. I've been trying I got more for the 101 once I get my hands on it. !!

Ooo ya more fun of a bike for sure. Sporties arnt bad but I think the scout is more capable.
Man, this is gonna be my next bike! Thanks for convincing me 😆
Go ride one man they do free test rides ! It’s a beast. !

They are very close. Honestly for normal every day riding you won’t be able to truest feel the difference in suspension and brakes.

Absolutely man I’d love to. Local triumph dealer won’t let people ride stuff so I need to find an owner with one !
Also I have a question is it a small bike like do tall take over the bike when they sit on it?
Depends on hieght. It’s not the biggest. I would say medium. I’m 5’10”. I fit perfect. If your 6’2” is the forwards look like mids but you still fit.
Have the chance to see Sportster S vs this 25 Scout Sport or 101 from you, will be awesome for sure. Looking forward to that!

How’s the lean angle? Scrape much ??
Oh ya it’ll scrape but it’s not terrible for a cruiser
Is that Holeshot Powersports?

And yes sir. I’m around from time to time lol !!
No Harley is even close. Says I, who drove a Fat Bob last season.
There is one Harley small cruiser that is close in speed lmaoo. I own it. But it not as comfortable and handles less easily. Ps it’s the sportster S
I think the Nightster S 975. Comparing the Air cooled fat bob may not be the best fit to compare . Air cooled motor should maintain the temp and cannot be stressed as much as liquid cooled motor. I agree. Different bike for a different market
nice watch ❤

What’s the MPG of this beast?
Of course it depends on how you ride but low 40s high 30s mpg

What is the diffrent of the headlight compared with the 101's pathfinder? Is it a huge diffrence?
Hadn’t ridden them at night. But the 101 has a projector style light so in general it’ll be concentrated beam that’s a little farther lighting

Thank you !
The only issue for me it doesn't look as good as the last model scouts. That engine cover is hideous.
