Respect ✊🏻. I have a Question as a owner of 4G wagons don’t understand why would they as a company makes such a stupid decisions putting camera on a front bumper and same thing on the back bumper without protection I drive a wagon right now the camera in the front gets 30 all the time and it’s on top where Mercedes logo is imagine when it’s on the bumper by the way when you live in the city people don’t know how to park they will destroy it. Mercedes. Don’t care about customers they don’t care about the customers that spent $200,000 for their vehicle, they should be ashamed of themselves for the money they charge they don’t think about the customers and what customers have to go through with these vehicles only groupies love these vehicles not the people to drive them every day they would make it more protection no, they put it the place can get damaged
I test drove the 2025 G 550 and felt the inline turbo 6 had more than enough power. Its also much less noise (wind and engine) and better fuel mileage. At my age I'm not tromping on the gas pedal anymore, so this new version makes alot of sense for me, maybe not for others, but for me. I think they will do well.
I looked all over the internet to find a '24 G550 and only could find one and it was 190K. So I ordered aBenz certified '23 with 3 thousand miles on it. Who wants a V6 hybrid G Wagon?
Thanks for the review. As one of the first test drives in the US, would have like to have you stretch it's legs on the highway to give a more insightful review...Sure the V8 is preferable, but moving forward is not an option in the G550.
@@omko73 Those cars can't handle so the G63 is plain stupid, with the diesels you get loads of low down torque and great economy, plus they are beasts with a mild remap.
I buy G-Class from the late 90s, I had all the engines. Currently I own a 2022 G63 and a 2023 V8 G500 (550). I know the in line 6 well (M256) because we had a 53 AMG GLE for three years. It is a good engine but, very simply, it should not be fitted on the G-Class, it has nothing to do with the G-Class. The G-Class must not be embellished and must remain as much as possible in accordance with the original. The 2018 restyling was very appropriate and delicate, that of 2024 excessive, especially for the introduction of the 48 volt mild hybrid system.
I have a 2023 G550 and really wanted to trade for the 2025 for the new infotainment system but the new V6 don’t make me excited for it at all… Plus they had a price increase of $12-15k, so overall I’ll pass.
They did the same thing to the Lexus GX460. I have a '22 460 with the V8 and the new 2024 has a twin turbo V6. The 2024 also lost the wood grain steering wheel and interior for a slightly improved infotainment. No way Im trading mine and I think the '22s exterior looks better than the 24. Dang I want a 2023 AMG G 63 but theyre still 200K
Get a 2020-2022 GLC63/63s. Same tech that is just now getting released in the ‘25 G-Wagen and much faster. I love it (I set the lane keeping and steering assist functions to sensitive… it pretty much drives itself which seem really unfair in a V8)
@@JonWestCo I just ordered a 2023 G550 with only 3K miles. I did more research and decided on the 550. Wanted a 2024 G550 but you cant any out there, but theres a lot of G63s out there. I dont want anything that goes too fast and that G63 is like a G Wagon Ferrari
Oh the disappointment I hear when you were test driving the 2025. It’s music to my ears because I just got the final edition 2 days ago, and really contemplated between the two. You just confirmed I made the right decision. Hehe. I am hearing the same v8 engine roar that I’m used to and echo in my garage, and grinning with a nod. 😎
Very shallow naive and dilettantish reviews. The rumble gets annoying on long road trips. It’s for duchebags only. The straight 6 preferably diesel is the best and it convinces on longer road trips and wins everywhere due to less weight etc
As long as the inline 6 allows the vehicle to perform the same on and off road, I welcome it. My most important option on any Benz is a Burmester - can't have one without it.

My local dealership is selling the 2024 V8 more expensive than the 2025 v6 😅 , that should’ve say a lot .

I’m manifesting this truck.
*For the G Wagon, there must be a V10. If it ends up costing over $250,000, then so be it.*
There was a V12. g65 amg. They ever discontinued though.
Useless engines the best option is the diesel, unsure if you get those in the US though.
what makes the diesel better?

I could be wrong but I feel like the new engine could also boost sales because more women will like the smoother, quieter ride.
The inline 6 is all you need, would be nice if there was a huge price cut for the i6 like outside the U.S.
I'd rather have the older one with the V8 and the more sensible interior.
Very nice. I would take either if only I had $150k I didn’t know what to do with. Nice review.
G Class with a M340i Engine xD

No 2 cylinder 2cv is all you need!
Forget g wagon get a 2cv!

Where can I find phone mount for my g class thanks it’s 💯👍🏻
Yup.
I don't care if it's v6 or v8 as long as the exhaust sounds good!
Yes, hair cut and a shave. Also, slow down. I had to rewind it a few times to figure out what the hell you were saying.
Mercedes keep the V8 in the G wagon Oh, well can't tell you what to do Mercedes built a cool suv

No. WHY?! Just get a used V8 and thank yourself later.
V8👍
Need v8 2024 g550
V6. 🚮
Everything about the new G is feminine
Hi
Nope
I like that it has a V6 .. gas is expensive lol
Don't need either one of those overpriced junkers
@@GrippingLipsFishing you’ve clearly never experienced one😂
