      @@EzaneeGires You're not kidding! Especially if resolution is 900 or 1080P - with a 6 or 7'' screen, they'd DEFINITELY be able to make a portable PS4 with slightly reduced max resolution - but with screens that size it would be optimal!

      it would have been amazing if they made a powerful handheld that was compatible with PS4 and PS5 games and simply used tricks like upscalling and lowering graphics on the device itself to make them run. The Vita was a great device but it lacked developer support. By just going for the PS4-5 game library you remove that problem completely. There is only a few problems with a device like that. What would be the price. How long would the battery last and what happens to those who have all their games on discs.

      @@PuroKross I think the spirit of the comment was in the current timeframe with modern specs. I owned a Vita BTW, I loved it. But over time the support for it dropped like crazy. I do love that design. The hidden keyboard and that standard Oculink port really takes the cake. But wow... With all these handhelds popping up, the resulting price wars are finally pushing these down to where they are really appealing. As much as I love my Deck, I'm really starting to think about moving to one of these other handhelds. It's just trying to decide between this, the Ally, or even the new OneXFly. Though the faster RAM on this and OneXfly is a big upside. I would prefer a slightly larger screen, but the keyboard and Oculink port may lock me straight onto this thing.

    If the DPad really does feel like the Vita's then that's a huge deal for me. The Series X or Xbox "Core" Controller (as they call it) is pretty great, but I never pulled off moves as flawlessly with a DPad as I did with the Vita.

    Damn I just bought the ROG Ally, too. I do like the Ally, but I have been eyeing the GPD Win4 for a while and I knew they were gonna make a 7840U version, but at the time I bought the Ally, I wasn't aware that GPD had actually lowered the prices for their base models. I think the 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD is the same price as the Ally at $699.99, and the 32GB RAM is just a tad higher, which is the one I would wanna get. I love my Ally, but I have one major problem with my Ally that makes me go back and use my Steam Deck: THE D-PAD. I love playing Street Fighter 6, but if I wanna play it handheld, I literally have to whip out the Steam Deck since it's damn near impossible to play fighters with that circle d-pad on the Ally. My favorite style of d-pad is the Playstation d-pads and the Win4 has the Vita-style d-pad, and THAT ALONE would make me be willing to trade in/sell my Ally for/towards a Win4 7840U if I could. The physical keyboard under the sliding screen is also a plus. The d-pad just seems like it'd be awesome for fighters, and I've heard a few reviewers say as much.

      While they keyboard is way more useless then youll realize and the gpd is pretty uncomfortable because of how bulky it is, with its small battery and screen that is .5" smaller, the gpd will be the better buy. The 6" screen on the gpd 6800u i felt was too small for a lot of modern games. Heck the steam decks 7" screen sometimes makes it tough for certain games like ffxiv. Half an inch is a lot when your talking screen sizes this small. Compare the switch lite to the full switch to get an idea. Or something like a normal sized iphone or samsung to the plus sized models.

    They really need to come up with compatible docks with connections to make these portables a proper desktop with connections you really require or need.

      780M is nowhere near a desktop GTX 1060 6 GB. The dedicated card has 6 GB of GDDR5 192 Bit 8000 Mhz = 192,2 GB/s vs 120GB/s of the LPDDR5X 7500.
      Those APUs seem a bit pointless outside of handheld systems. Take a look at RTX 4050 mobile, it has literally triple the performance compared to 780U and only uses 35-115 Watts. In fact, 4050 mobile is faster than than 6600M. You probably could buy a gaming laptop for 1/3 of the price of that GPD combo...

    • @GhostAcez
      @GhostAcez ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kmieciu4everWhat? Where are you buying a RTX 4050 gaming laptop for less than $300? The 512gb model of the GPD shown in this video is $840 which is where most decent lower end gaming laptops start in price.

    • @GhostAcez
      @GhostAcez ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kmieciu4everAlso the 780m is roughly equivalent to a laptop GTX 1650 in terms of performance. It sounds like the original commenter above was talking about a mini PC so they might be talking about a mobile GTX 1060 which would perform about the same. Either way the 780m is seriously not far off from a desktop 6gb 1060 in terms of performance most of the time. It's actually surprising how good it is in comparison.

    • @GhostAcez
      @GhostAcez ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, JohnSmith, if you're wanting a smaller form factor mini PC you can actually get a barebones (needs ssd and ram) minisforum one with a ryzen 9 6900hx and a rx 6600m built in for like $500-$700 normally. It's a solid mini PC.

    Damn, man. I just bought an Asus ROG Ally, but I already want this. This form factor is SO appealing, as a huge fan of the PSP and PS Vita, and tho it lacks a 120 hz capable screen, I could deal with that. Besides, I can barely tell the difference between 60 and 120 fps anyway.
    I just don't have that kind of money to spend right now 😅

    I know this is a nitpick and doesn't really matter in the end but still wanted to ask out of curiosity: Why aren't the buttons and joysticks symmetrical? If you look on the right half, the joystick isn't lined up with the buttons above, like most other consoles. The right joystick is also closer to the edge than the left one. I am thinking it may have something to do with it having a sliding screen mechanism.
