Just saw the price. The performance was pretty impressive compared to my ally, but I guess I’ll just have to wait till the ally 2 comes out to upgrade. Fallout 4 performance is pretty bad and very power consuming on my ally, let alone anything newer.
It looks awesome for sure, but if you're thinking about adding an egpu to this, you may want to rethink your life choices. For less money, you can get a decent phone, a decent mini desktop, and a controller and use moonlight/sunshine to connect the phone and desktop.
When they do an extreme version there won't be any need for a gaming PC anymore. Ideally it would be great if they had a large gaming monitor & console combo so you can switch between the two. Or a docking system attached to a souped up external GPU.
This thing is so huge, but it still uses these small switch type thumb sticks. This point alone is why the steam deck to me is the best of these type of handhelds.

like the reviews @ETAPrime- but hopefully a constructive bit of feedback- reading through a long list of specs that you put up on the video is not really watchworthy - what would be great is if you could pick on the highlights form the list - for example the APU, or what is missing (ports etc compared tot he other devices in the class.and spend the time elaborating just that - ie where the differences are for that piece of kit, the why not the what so much - so that the viewer can gain a sense as to how there might be interest in this product over say competitor. another example could be to highlight the real world impact that the change has by suggesting this for a lead in to the later parts of the vid- ie benchmarking- anyway my 2c - and I do enjoy the vids nonetheless.

However, I still have crashes and freezes although they’re Less frequent. I reinstalled the OS three times and updated all drivers. Not sure what to do. AMD needs to make better drivers for this device. It seems to have issues issues with the RNA three graphics.

I compared the 3dmark tests with my Surface Book 2 that has a 1060. The IGPU isn't as fast as a 1060, but it's getting close. For instance in timespy the 1060 is about 1/6th faster.

@@MatiX415 Asus India VP said it's coming sometime this year. I guess it depends on what your definition of "soon" is.
@@onetruebrick i don't believe that it will come this year. AMD didn't release anything new. And rog ally is just 1 year old... Imo they will release ally 2 in late 2025 when AMD will release Radeon 880M
@@MatiX415 saying you don't "think" it will come and "it isn't coming" are two different things.
Please be careful throwing around things as if you know them to be fact.
I think it's entirely possible ROG Ally 2 gets released later this year with a Z2 Extreme chip based off the 8840U, and have other improvements like an OLED screen and hall sticks. Maybe even 24-32gb of RAM instead of just 16. This would absolutely justify an upgrade for some people.
@@onetruebrick "z2 extreme" based on 8840u would give you 0 fps boost. Dude that chip is the same as 7840u. Same amount of cores, threads, clock speed, cache and still radeon 780m. Releasing a new console with 0 performance boost is useless
The trick for a longer battery life is to set the Tdp to 12 watts.
play the games at medium settings 900p with upscaling on it's works like magic.
And make sure Vrr and amd freesync is turn on.
I get around from 40,50 or 60 fps depending on the game but with Vrr and freesync on it's feels like you playing at 60fps
I barely play any of my games at 15 watts
That price…
ROG ALLY is the way to yo
And kegion go depends which gorm factor
Just saw the price. The performance was pretty impressive compared to my ally, but I guess I’ll just have to wait till the ally 2 comes out to upgrade. Fallout 4 performance is pretty bad and very power consuming on my ally, let alone anything newer.
It looks awesome for sure, but if you're thinking about adding an egpu to this, you may want to rethink your life choices. For less money, you can get a decent phone, a decent mini desktop, and a controller and use moonlight/sunshine to connect the phone and desktop.
switch 2 has got some serious competition now....
This point alone is why the steam deck to me is the best of these type of handhelds.
decent battery life, better than the steam deck oled at 15-20 Watts due to the larger battery.
If that’s true, that’s got me interested
@@christianr.5868 well it is just physics but it is true, you can check eta primes video on the oled steam deck. At 15 Watts he gets 2 hours and 10 minutes. And at 10 Watts he got 2 hours and 59 minutes. The one player 2 Pro 8840u has better battery life at 15 and 10 watts (2 hours 40 and 3 hours 55 minutes) and the same battery life at 20 watts. Though it is heavier.
@@christianr.5868 its not true dont worry
@@inigosusaetaherrera4230 it is though, the steam deck oled only gets 2 hours and 10 minutes at 15 watts and 2, hours and 59 minutes at 10 watts compared to this device battery lasting 2 hours and 45 minutes at 15 watts and 3 hours and 55 minutes at 10 watts. The larger battery makes up for the lower efficency. Though still the steam deck is a better by due to the lower price if you just want to game.
@@jponz85 yeah found that out later
Love the looks of this thing
Yeah. 60hz non VRR is a deal breaker for me. I'm sticking w/ the Ally X
I’d like that and wall paper with the color changing thingy
I briefly had an ROG ALLY and I honestly don't understand why they didn't go with a 65wh battery, it would have been so much more appealing..... It was super light anyways, a little more weight would have been fine.
good battery,good performance
The first one xplayer has been the best IMO for a long time despite the Intel chip. I think One netbooks didn't take a serious update missing the chance to add oculink or a newer screen. Probably there will be something better soon, hopefully an X1 with this chip.
The best ever all in one handheld pc but also 1 of the most expensive 😅. I wish i can have this latest onexplayer so i will never need a laptop or switch or any handheld or anbernic. Hehe
its on sale 759, go get one
Legion Go is the best for me. Ally X is better if you want something smaller and lighter. Steamdeck is great for casual gaming and it feels amazing to hold.
It all depends on what you want but they’re all amazing devices.
like the reviews @ETAPrime- but hopefully a constructive bit of feedback- reading through a long list of specs that you put up on the video is not really watchworthy - what would be great is if you could pick on the highlights form the list - for example the APU, or what is missing (ports etc compared tot he other devices in the class.and spend the time elaborating just that - ie where the differences are for that piece of kit, the why not the what so much - so that the viewer can gain a sense as to how there might be interest in this product over say competitor. another example could be to highlight the real world impact that the change has by suggesting this for a lead in to the later parts of the vid- ie benchmarking- anyway my 2c - and I do enjoy the vids nonetheless.
Similar specs to the Minisforum V3 which will hopefully be in my hands this evening.
Cant wait for fuild motion frame to work on low wattage
you call it a USB 4 with 40gbps protocol, not a Thunderbolt 4? is it? I'm thinking of getting an egpu for mine, but if it's not TB4, it might not work right? although 40GBPS is about what TB 4 can provide. Can you confirm ETA? thanks!
it works, i have the same handheld with the onegpu with th4 cable. im currently playing stalker 2 with barely any issues
wow the price of it , thanks for video
I think the only thing with 8840U is that it has improved the 10W performance over 7840U. The NPU probably shares with the GPU and people won't see any benefit from it in games.
Hi there I would like to ask if those portable controllers can also vibrate in the hands during the gaming?
yes
This looks great 😁
I'd like to see the source for some of those animated wallpapers. How about a video on that someday?
They could have atleast out 120 hz screen
Handheld barely hits 60hz why 120hz?🤦🏻♂️
@@lnxextreme6275 the the fluid motion frames they can, and less graphically demanding games can, as well as all the upscaling software baked into games
@@lnxextreme6275low settings and 720 p it is more than possible
@jponz85 Well, just a few games, though!! 🤷🏻♂️
Wish something better than the ally would come out I'm ready to upgrade
The best handheld no one can afford, except for like those 8-9 people .
Just wish they chose another color than the orange, or atleast gave more options, also wish the refresh rate was higher. But looking forward to see how it performs
Hi
When did you do the mw3 Benchmark? Because I tried for the last two weeks and I’m not able to start it, I think it’s bugged.
Oh yeah this is perfect 👍🏽
Can you show some Destiny 2 gameplay on this and the larger X1 Amd versions?
How well does it preform while charging and playing in terms of maintaining cooling? I'm playing on a steam deck oled but I can't really make use of it as it overheats after about a hour cuz there's to much heat and to little cooling
I have this device I like it a lot. One problem I’m having is driver compatibility issues. It seems to crash when ever. It’s running windows update sometimes and I also found that it would crash while downloading steam games and it would crash and freeze while watching videos and fullscreen on a browser. I found a fix for the browser related crashes. I disabled MPO overlay I disabled hardware acceleration. I had to force my browser to stop using it that solved browser related crashes of the device. However, I still have crashes and freezes although they’re Less frequent. I reinstalled the OS three times and updated all drivers. Not sure what to do. AMD needs to make better drivers for this device. It seems to have issues issues with the RNA three graphics.
I'm exhausted with pc handhelds. I own more than 10 and for now the thrill has gone for me personally
Probably because you bought 10 of them. Just a thought.
Why 10? Makes no sense.
damn 10 is alot, which one do you like the most?
@@jponz85 Materialistic, wasteful, impulse buyers. That's who lol.
Asus has officially announced they will release AFM on the 25th can you please create a video explaining how to install it and do some benchmark in some games to see how it looks? I play in my rog ally baldurs gate 3 and I think that game will be very enhanced with this new feature
It's already available in AC
ETA, y u no change the resolution on Windows but going with the side bars? xD
Picking one up.
This device is not meant for a casual gamer obviously.
As it's that obvious, in 2024, any device that's meant for gaming coming with 60hz display is a crime.
Es como la OneXplayer X mini solo que un poco más pequeña y sin el puerto Oculink. Hasta ahora creo que la OneXfly es la más equilibrada lo único que le hace falta es tener una pantalla con refresco variable.
We need OneXfly 2 with QD-OLED screen
The price gets me.
Is this basically just a lower cost/power Legion Go?
Hope the new rog ally will come with a 60hz that will be a game changer for the battery, and its anough for playing games tough
I compared the 3dmark tests with my Surface Book 2 that has a 1060. The IGPU isn't as fast as a 1060, but it's getting close. For instance in timespy the 1060 is about 1/6th faster.
Would rather wait for the legion go 2. Onexplayer is and always has been expensive.
Just wow
Wow a $1200 device capped at 60hz.
ETA would be nice to see how compares against the Naroo minipc, can you run similar benchmarks?
Just curious to know how you think would compare to the Legion GO?
mate where can we get that wallpaper which is running in background :)
Hopefully they've fixed the ejecting sdcard slot. Had to return my Onexplayer due to that. Bit of a pain, despite the device being awesome.
no 120hz? or OLED at this price is crazy doe.
THE MOST POWERFUL HANDHELD IN THE WORLD, EVER!!!!!1!!!1!!1!!!
Patiently (and desparately) awaiting an in depth review. For 1200 bucks 60hz screens and barely an hour and a half battery life.... makes it very tough to pull the trigger. Need more information or to wait for thesr thigns to have 120hz screen as standard with the power to push a steady 60fps in heavy games and a smooth 120 in easier games
Thanks ill hold off on getting anything for now. Aya just releasing their 8840u unfortunately thats it.
harman certified speakers? Omg. I'm buying two kek
I think the Go is still better, the controllers just do more.
This would be a good ROG alternative though, but it's still missing additional mappable buttons.
I was about to order one once i saw 60hz i changed my mind
bro on portable devices, it's not that important and you won't notice it as much. switch selling like hot cakes and nobody cares about that, but on pc i agree thats where vrr and hz really matters
@draco2xx to each their own. If the inside was upgradeable definitely....I have patience, and I know in the future it will be better handhelds. When they start having having 200+ hz 1600p oleds with a processor and graphic card that can handle that and a good cooling system I will consider...if I play mw3 online at 1080p I should get at least 75-80 fps...
@SeldomSeen-if4pq thats probably 5-10 years from now but till then this what we got. i just got mines which was on sale for $759, no way in hell ill be paying for a portable pc gaming device for over 1k. i just want a good powerful portable handheld system that can run at 60fps, anything above that is the cherry on top for me
@@draco2xx you would have been better off getting the legion go that's ridiculous
@SeldomSeen-if4pq legion go is not all that. i don't want such a big screen, legion go audio is terrible, loud fans and discomfort. i can always upgrade in the future when legion go is better built but for now 1ex pro is my go to, and i got it for $759. it's on sale right now
I'm big fan 😊😊😊❤
We need a device like this with 4g sd card compability
