      Ooooohh I did see the win mini, and it does look great. As I say I really wanted to love the win 2 and the win mini really comes close to the win 2. I'm tempted but I think I'm content with the win 4 for now

    Nice review, I've also been enjoying my Win 4! but the Deck can definitely play Epic and GOG games via Heroic launcher, and other launchers. Of course, it won't have perfect compatibility, but it works fine.

    Great device I agree that in order for something to be considered a handheld it has to be portable. I think if it had an Oled screen and 120hz I would buy.

    • @mikeys_youtube_makes
      @mikeys_youtube_makes  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As much as I agree. there's a lot of factors to consider to the manufactorers.
      * Is it cost effective to build something so expensive? For a normal laptop you're looking around £1500+
      * Is there an immediate demand for it? is it worth it for these manufactorers to make it, knowing they may get a small margin back
      * Specs may get outdated and people may just want a more powerful device (albeit not having OLED or 120hz screen)
      * Manufactorers also have to contend with making it portable means it will be harder to dissipate heat resulting in bad performance.

    Do you think with an eGPU, max configuration (7840U, 64GB RAM 4TB Memory), and a dock for peripherals, that someone could reliably raid or do group content in world of warcraft. Essentially, could you play WoW group content reliably?

    • @JsmashTech
      @JsmashTech 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      dont need max specs for that ram and storage wouldn't affect it so you can save money and go for the 32 and buy a NVME and install it your self if you want. but I seen people play WoW using Rog ally doing raids so pretty sure it should be fine if you go with the 7840u variant. the Z1 extreme and the 780m are virtually the same chip

    • @mikeys_youtube_makes
      @mikeys_youtube_makes  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I guess it comes down to how you're going to use this product. Are you a going to be using this more than just gaming and need that requires more resource? For me, I think 32GB is more than enough for day to day tasks and gaming.

    • @blaster915
      @blaster915 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mikeys_youtube_makes for me, it's a gaming product first and foremost with lots of emulation use and tinkering on testing ROMs for still developing Emulators.
      I'd like something that can last at 7+ years for on the go portability and I'm wondering if that extra amount of RAM could make up for its lack of top tier graphical capabilities through brute force.

    • @mikeys_youtube_makes
      @mikeys_youtube_makes  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@blaster915 I see, in which case you may want to hold out for something a bit more powerful. I would say at the moment we're at the start of portable gaming pc's (definitely with the help of the steam deck to drive it) , so I don't think they're at its full potential quite yet.
      I think the bottleneck would be the gpu, unless you add a egpu to it, but it kinda defeats the purpose of having a portable pc.

      Ergonomically it's not too bad. The sides bulge out a little for your hand to cup. But compared a xbox controller it doesn't provide the extra length, although people have made 3d printed parts to make it longer
      But if you're playing long sessions, honestly it's not that bad. I think the only thing that annoys me is the heat the comes out of the device. Your hands will get a little toasty over a long period and obviously more demanding games

    How long did it take you to properly program each emulator to correspond with the proper buttons and control? That's the only thing I'm dreading, I wish there was something that would automatically detect and set. I got Win4 too and just ordered a 4tb NVMe from LEVEN the JP600 appears to be single sided and has a removable heatsink so perfect fit and size at the price of $149 on Amazon. At the beginning of the Video you mentioned the importance of Internet Connectivity but you didn't bring up the USB-C 4G LTE model, which doesn't make sense if you're going to compare it to the Steam Deck because then they're both limited to WiFi only connection. I'm satisfied with I have it on metro by T-Mobile with a unlimited $15 a month Tablet data plan.

      To you first question about controller mapping. I use launchbox and set everything to use retroarch. So I think you'd just need to configure your buttons once in retroarch and you would not need to touch it again. Obviously there are emulators that retroarch does not support, and for that you'd need to configure it yourself. But it's only a small number of emulators
