    1. Cover (and small chain)
    2. Massive (19mm) chain to metal fence and Squire lock
    3. Front wheel disc lock
    4. Rear wheel disc lock
    5. Scorpio Alarm (to he fitted).
It just takes a few minutes at the start and of the day to do the 'routine'.
When I'm out and about I just use a single disc lock (and alarm).

      1. Take cover off along with small chain
      2. Cut the fence, not the chain

      4. Cut the disk the lock is attached to, again
      5. No one cares about alarms

Everyone says get a tracker but it depends on your bike if it's a high value bike that's getting robbed by pros then they will use a jammer and block the signal or just find it and rip it out in 5 mins lol. Some old timer Harley Riders told me about bike covers 1) Get one without a bike brand name on it. That way they have no idea what is under the cover. 2) Make the cover dirty and unattractive with some black over-sprayed paint and duct tape on it. Thieves will think it a crap bike because you have not invested in a good new cover. 3) Get a cover a bit bigger than you need. Then the rims and tires are covered so then again they have no idea what is under the cover. Plus they cannot figure out what type of bike is under the cover by the profile.
As they said, people do not covet what they cannot see.

    • @bikewolf7455
      @bikewolf7455 4 ปีที่แล้ว +18

Thought about that a couple of times when i saw covered bikes.
When i who knows a lot about bikes to the point that i never have to ask anyone "what bike is this?" I can tell you 90% of the time what bike hides under the cover just by seeing a part of the bike like the wheels (size, width, etc), the final drive (chain, belt, shaft), brakes, the swingarm or the lower part of the forks and the axle mount. Plus you can always tell what type of bike it is by the overall shape. At least i can tell 100% if that bike is worth enough to steal it.
So make sure to cover that up good

Tip No1 ... Live in Japan.. You have more chances to struck by lightning than having your bike stolen... Basically, it's really peaceful here.. So peaceful that there are bikes and bicycles that are laying around in streets corners, never moved, huge layer of dust or plants climbing on them... Nobody would steal them... I love this country!

No offense dude but, speak for yourself...
I live in Japan and motorcycle theft is pretty common here. A friend in the neighborhood just got his stolen recently and you can hear plenty of stories of motorcycle theft.
Theft insurance, alarms,GPS, multiple locks, cover, rental containers with 24h surveillance... The drill is the same here.
I own two bikes and live in a nice residential area and I caught people trying to "check" my bikes before.
If you have a high end bike, professional thieves will come for it.
If you have a scooter, you have to worry about hooligans.
Classic bike, watch out for bike gangs.
It's a shame though. This country is indeed safer than others on other aspects...

I live in London so the bare minimum for me is huge chain, ground anchor, tracker and CCTV. Fortunately the place I park at work supplies ground anchors, CCTV and regular security patrols. Oh and the cover is a good idea but an old tatty one is better than a shiny new one. Even then someone attacked my pride and joy with a hammer after failing to get through my chain with their angle grinder. I had a 125 stolen because I didn't use a big enough chain, now I take no chances.

fun tip with the GPRS trackers. you can wire a ignition live power cable into the device to keep it charged up with out worry about it dying out on you. tuck it away in the rear cavity and youve got a good little tracker. as even if they do disconnect the battery its inbuild battery will last and no chance of draining the battery if left for too without use either.

We need to go back to it being totally okay to shoot a bike (horse) thief. Does everyone a favor and deters others.

@@juststeve5542 It's been done, it doesn't stop them. It only stops the little scrotes from stealing from that one owner, or their friends. It doesn't always deter all bike thieves either, you have to show some extreme violence towards them to really scare them off. The second time a guy (it was the same guy as the first and third times) tried to steal my bike he managed to run away, however he was missing teeth (what did he expect when he tried to steal a bike with the 16 stone owner wearing body armour stood next to it), but he tried again, unfortunately for him I was cutting a zip tie off of my bike, and he only ran away with my knife (I swear I didn't stab him, he must have lodged the knife in his own shoulder after he ran away, honest officer). Apparently UK legal carry knives can be dangerous to thieves (who knew).

First F9 video I've watched that I've disagreed with: It's incredibly common for panel vans to snatch bikes in the UK. They can have a couple guys and throw the bike in locks and all and its gone in no more than a couple of seconds.
If you aren't Chaining your bike to something solid whilst out in the UK then its fair game for thieves. Even then - they carry battery grinders and can make short work most locks. Most guys ride with at least a disc lock and chain here and their bikes still go walkies.

My 98 xr650l was parked right next to several other bikes, all of which were much more expensive than mine, but mine was the one that was stolen, literally yesterday. Unbelievably, I got a call today saying that the police found it parked at a McDonalds less than 2 miles away from where it was stolen. So I have my bike back and now I am looking for a chain to lock my (relatively) light bike to something immobile while I'm at work. As it turns out, the only chains worth buying are made in England and not available for shipping to the US.

After theft you call them with ref number from police and they deal with them . first time I did private hunt and had to wait 5 hrs in bushes waiting for police . they did it in 45min . 500£ for 2 bikes is quite cheap :)
