    These case workers NEED to start facing jail time for such gross negligence. This keeps happening again and again and nothing gets done.

    • @veethedarling
      @veethedarling ปีที่แล้ว +59

      I agree.
      I think prosecuting stuff like this tends to be difficult though because the negligence goes up sooooo many levels. Like it's not just individual case workers that are overlooking things or blatantly ignoring them, it's their supervisors, managers, and the individuals in positions of power within the system that are supposed to enact the "checks and balances" component that are contributing JUST as (if not more) heavily to these failures. There's also the fact that social workers are given 100 cases to work with when they can only feasibly work with 35, so certain expressions of abuse are often overlooked if they're not as severe or egregious as others (which is NOT okay).
      I say this not to defend these case workers because they ABSOLUTELY should be held responsible for their inaction (especially in cases such as these), but to point out that the negligence and corruption runs deep and is indicative of the system's failures rather than individual public servants.

      1 billion percent!!!!! I know their case loads are often way too much for one person, but if they start facing jail time and criminal charges, I feel that more of them would speak up sooner. There's a difference between hard living/poverty and downright abuse and neglect and the fact that so many case workers check off these cases because they don't have time to do the paperwork should be considered an act of criminal negligence, ESPECIALLY when it results in the death or serious injury of the child(ren).

They got pregnant young or into drugs, failed school, have no real job and so need support. Most times their families - if they're still in contact / wasn't an abusive household anyway - don't want to be bothered with them and so they fall in with quite bluntly said whoever will have them and 90% of the time that's the dregs of society.

      Probably probably the grandmother didn't know the situations that well. at all probably she thought her daughter was doing a great job as a mom and many grandmothers old fashioned grandmothers feel they raise their kids now it's your turn you do it I don't have nothing to do with that. I did raised mines, all by myself. I mean a lot of grandmothers don't do nothing for their daughters when they need help to take care of their kid's especially if those kids have step parents stepfathers does grandmothers should be calling more offended to find out if everything's is okay. but that does not mean the daughter couy be lying to her too, tragedies like this most often go in secret big time. and say she had everything's under controlled you don't know what's going on until you don't visit them. and come frequently to visit them, and ask the children's how thy doing ? in person being so far she was not going to gather the right informations over the phone with her daughter especially if her daughter was playing a role in her daughter's abused letting this stepfather do what he wanted to do to her child it is outrageous but he should get a life sentences for murder because it's obvious it was murder cuz the blows to the head and two big black eyes, and heading little girl Head hard on the top a blow to her head, tells you of course she's going to go hemorrhage to brain dead comas not even an adult survive stuff like that. It seems to me even the little kids will pick on her that little girl was like the black sheep of the family seems like no one wanted to have nothing to do with her.with defenses, she never had a chances I think the kids was brainwashed thinking that the child was evil and deserve to be punished in every way they could like if she wasn't Worthy of appreciations negligent and everyone's thought. 😢

    • @helmandblue8720
      @helmandblue8720 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +44

      It's quite common. The other children are used to torture that one child. Those children don't want to get on the wrong side of the abuser be it the mother or father or another guardian/authority figure. This in turn makes the abuse more severe for the targeted child.
      The abuser uses this tactic as they need validation and an audience, not because they care all that much about the other children.

    • @furygeist
      @furygeist 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +24

      Simple. They always need a scapegoat, and the one who sees things for what they are and rocks the boat gets picked first. All she'd have to do is talk back or try to redirect the abusers anger or step in when they are hurting another member of the family and boom! Wounded ego and you just made the 💩 list. Then they'll reason it away as "Well since you love stepping in, you can take it for everyone!" And in order to not be a fellow scapegoat, everyone else falls in line and helps uphold the abusive hierarchy in the dysfunctional family. All cuz the adult never bothered to deal with their feelings, trauma, and learn how to process shame like a reasonable person.

      @@andreayatesgfit probably was not an actual fetus, and her claims that whatever was in the jar was from a miscarriage is questionable. These people were liars and child murderers. A miscarriage doesn’t just happen in one day, and if she was far enough along for it to have been an actual fetus she would have had to go to a clinic or hospital to get a D&C, or she could risk septicemia. Something tells me there never was a miscarriage, or she gave birth extremely prematurely to a stillborn fetus because of ongoing abuse.

      It’s nauseating! Nixzaliz has an entry on the Murderpedia website. In the photo gallery, there are pictures of poor Nixzmary at her autopsy, as well as a photo from her open casket. They had to use so much makeup to cover the bruising. There are pictures of the trial evidence, including the jar with the fetus, as well as the litter box, belt, ropes, etc. There is also a photo of the stupid “World’s Greatest Dad” mug the defense tried to use.

    I can't believe that Nixmary Brown's bio father is/was trying to sue the city for a child he never wanted or visited . He allegedly never even met his daughter until she was in her tiny casket. I remember this case very well because it happened in my city, just a different borough but her funeral was in my borough and only about 3/4 of a mile from me. This is one of the most infuriating CA cases I've heard of. Everyone from the parents, authorities, neighbors, family , and especially the lawyer. Couldn't get over the audacity to blame a malnourished 7 yr old who couldn't properly defend or take care of herself.

    My 3 younger brothers and I grew up with a stepdad, we got hit with his belt once a week, some time's twice a week, my mom just sat and watched, he wasn't abusive to my mom, just us kids. The last time he hit me, I was 16 and I turned around and hir him back, he never laid a hand on me again. Mom was mentally abusive to us. My brothers and I broke the cycle, none of us have ever abused our kids, and our kids know their very much loved.

But this man? What the actual hell, Nixmary had nothing to do with the miscarriage, and that was just insulting to her. It’s always “they were a bad kid!” When parents are abusive but do you see parents of actually terrible child beating their kids? Fuck no, because it’s not the answer. I am disgusted, upset and angry due to the behaviour of this man. It’s about time punishment needs to meet the crime. In America it usually is over here it’s not. I cannot get to grips with the mentality of individuals who do this to babies and children. May their lives be filled with as much pain as they inflicted on others. Case workers need to be held culpable for failing the child. Maybe a charge of manslaughter would wake the case workers up. The attorney who defended the step father should be struck off.

      Most of the adoption agencies are both for profit and many are religious organizations that will place children with Christian families only. Also, a huge percentage of people looking to adopt are not interested in providing a child with a loving home, they’re just looking for an object to fulfill some goal or some playing house fantasy and are ONLY interested in adopting infants - very young ones at that. There’s a reason drop off sites often don’t accept children over just a few months of age - because they’re less likely to get adopted once entering the system. People are selfish as shit.
