Well look at the sister who got in the most trouble for not having her former home tore down herself. She probably wanted to put as much distance between herself & her brother & sister-in-law as possible & she could have been in denial about the situation.
@@avril6922 3 died but 2 others were severely neglected. And honestly the 2 older ones were traumatized too. Both should be spending the rest of their miserable lives in the darkest room of a prison. Give them the exact same treatment they gave those precious babies
Oh he knew. A control freak like that wouldn't stand for extra crying kids without looking for where the cries would be coming from. His wilful ignorance is hilariously ridiculous and quite criminal. But he got into more trouble for a single weed plant than the deaths of several of his own kids so that reveals where the justice system stood on drugs versus abused and dead kids. It's surprising that DFACS quickly intervened in this case and weren't partially responsible for contributing to an abused kid's death (unlike in too many other abused kids' cases where DFACS callously refused to intervene and that inaction led to the kids' brutal deaths). I'm grateful that the surviving kids are doing well in their current living situations. Hopefully they'll receive adequate mental health services as they grow up to help them cope with their past trauma.
I agree. What disgusting human beings. Birth control is free at the health department for those who decide they shouldn't have innocent babies and treat them worse than animals.
the only way he didn't hear them is if she duck taped their mouths and he allowed the house to be that messy and never cleaned up to find the other babies
The fact that her two secret children were never actually named is one of the most disturbing parts of the story. They were denied so much in life that they didn't even get the gift of their own names.
I wouldn't know what to name my kids. Mahlon my husband decided to name Victoria after her paternal grandma, my mom's name and my father in law. Victoria Judith Louis Styles. Four names. I only had three except for my maiden name. Mahlon ain't here and another child wouldn't be his. Who would help me name a new baby. I need ideas 💡

I also thought that was awful that she didn't name the 2 little girls. They were like pieces of furniture to her!!! And where was her family??? They had to know she had mental issues! I’ve always felt that neglect should be considered torture period. You are knowingly neglecting the needs of a child, vulnerable person, elderly, or animals. This neglect is generally leads to a slow and painful death.

This case occured less than 7 minutes from me. Many people pleaded with police and authorities to do welfare checks because of the putrid smell coming from the house. The house was also located right next to the police headquarters and town hall. Requests went ignored and dismissed and people were told to mind their business. The suffering those children endured are also the fault of the nonchalant PD.
By “jellyfish” I feel like the bodies were so decayed and there was so much slippage that they looked like washed up jellyfish. If you ever go to the beach and find dead ones washed up, they look like mounds of rotting tissue. I can definitely picture what he meant and it’s awful.
So, I thought the same, but then they claimed they were skeletal. My first thought was that they had been partially mummified with an abundance of adipocere, or "grave wax."
so the 'dad' is clearly boning her and just claims he knows nothing of her pregnancies? Riiiiiight. Her giant belly wouldn't have been a giveaway, or - checks notes - THE BABIES IN THE HOUSE THAT KEPT APPEARING. Not charging them both with murder is ridiculous. Their house was full of dead animals and babies. They caused that.
He knew he did his business in her and he knew that she is obviously a very fertile lady. And dis he not notice that she would stop having periods every month?
Makes me wonder if the judge let them off easy because they were bribed or personally knew the couple. Because I can’t imagine why a jury full of random people would unanimously agree that this wasn’t a horrific case of murder. I can’t see how 12 random people could collectively be that amoral.
little baby lisa reminds me of my baby cousin my mom fostered for a year from age 1-2. he was barely verbal other than screams, couldn't walk, and had extreme separation anxiety. within about a month of my mom's consistant love and care, he was walking, babbling and doing well at daycare. little kids can lucky bounce back.
The baby might, but that 3 yr old probably watched her mom stick that baby in her closet, and must've seen the dead dogs lying around. That 3 yr old is probably still traumatized and shes what 13 now. I really hope she got the help she needs
@@MissCherryBomb69 yeah, she likely will have some lasting psychological damage, but it is reassuring that she caught back up developmentally at least. i hope the poor girl is in therapy now.
bless your mum and that baby! but I am a little confused because everything you mentioned is pretty typical for a 1yr old? I mean obviously I don't know how extreme it was, but screaming, not walking or talking and separation anxiety are all perfectly normal and to be expected of a 1yr old. not doubting you at all, just confused.
I feel like more investigation should've been done into Ramone. I get that the grooming and abuse made Erica a bit mental, but what was his excuse? He was sleeping with her regularly but didn't notice the pregnancies, hear the births, or question the conditions of the permanently "baby sat" children? He didn't question the house, the dead dogs, the neglected animals, Erica's detachment from reality, etc? There's no real way he didn't know what was going on. Erica told those lies, BUT we know she wasn't good at it, and her disassociation made her inconsistent and unable to see problems, so any adult going into that home would know something was wrong. There's no way he was oblivious to things, given he lived in a shit tip. Did he not question his own dogs dying/ going missing? Why did he keep getting more dogs they couldn't look after, and then leave them to Erica? There's so many questions
Thank you! So many of these comments are so quick to judge Erica and don't even mention Ramone. She was a child, stolen, abused and broken. I'm not going to say what she did was right, but I do believe she thought she was doing her best in that situation. She had to of been terrified of that man and I cannot even begin to imagine how evil he must be to completely break her like he did.
Nia, I am wondering some of the same things as you! How did he not notice her pregnancies? Why did Ramon not get her some help?! Why did he keep bringing bloodhounds home?
OH THANK GOD ITS NOT JUST ME!!!! There’s so many comments on here about how Erica is a terrible mother and a terrible person but I feel like so many of them completely neglect to mention that she HAD A HUSBAND! What was his role in all this? There’s no way he couldn’t NOT known unless he just didn’t live with them? More importantly, if HE didn’t want kids anymore - why did he not go to a doctor and make it so he COULDNT have kids anymore??
@@stefanforrer2573 That is because it is incorrect grammar. Correct = ”He had to have been...” Frequently the “have” is reduced to “of” which is pronounced "ov”. Wait, so not only did Erica’s parents NOT press charges against Ramon for preying on their then teenage daughter, they actually allowed this creep to live with them in their home for a while? Yeah, I don’t think Erica grew up in a typical family as the introduction suggests. Your typical father would beat the cr@p out of an older man who knocks up his teenage daughter.
And the parents never went to visit her in her home? Their house was so disgusting it had to be condemned as uninhabitable and the neighbour said you could smell it from outside. Her parents never once stopped by to see their daughter or grandkids? Definitely not a normal relationship.

@@Tumbledweeb awe thank you. Honestly it was my pleasure. I wish I could have taken him in. I was already going through a separation and had a son the same age. Unfortunately the foster parents weren’t that great either but they were leaps and bounds above his mom. Sadly that school year, I had 12 students with different special needs and I had to make 27 reports to CPS. I even had to threaten the police in one instance where a sweet 4 year old girl was being sexually abused by her older brother and horrifically neglected by her mother. The whole family was a tragedy. The mom was an addict and engaged in sex work. They were living in different motels. The older brother had been a previous student of mine and had been sexually abused and was now abusing the younger siblings. The mom pulled up to school with the newest baby, about 3 months old, in a laundry basket rather than a car seat. The 3 school aged children were so thin, dirty and infested with lice. The mom came in the school, leaving the baby in the car in the laundry basket with no bra and no shoes scratching her head constantly saying she didn’t know anything about the lice. The next day all 3 kids including the little girl had their heads shaved in a rough manner. 😞 but when the little girl who was my student told me about the sexual abuse, I refused to send her home until CPS came. I was already sending her home with food and clean clothes for all 4 of the children. They told me that if I didn’t send her home that I could be arrested for kidnapping. I told them, well at least then the police will come but I am not sending her home!!!! They eventually showed up around 5pm. I once I had a student with severe autism and significant behavioral issues. He was nonverbal and this acted out in desperation to communicate. However his mother was 14 and his grandmother was about 32 and his great grandmother was about 48. They were all addicted to crack and he was born with it in his system. He cried a lot. And they would chain him to a tree in the backyard like a dog. Child abuse is so horrible. I have a huge heart but I think if you hurt or kill a child the same should be done to you! It should not be tolerated! Sorry for rambling. Thank you for comment. Sweet Dylan and his big beautiful blue eyes smiling at me with his silver teeth. He will remain in my heart forever!
@@tiffanysadlertlc Okay, this is going to sound a bit weird so, full disclosure before I begin: I'm an Autistic woman with severe ADHD. Your first comment about the 3 year old sweetie made me want to share it with you because of the sentiment. There is a video game titled "Detroit Become Human" where one of the characters you play as, Kara, is a housekeeping android. She is purchased by a man for the purpose of housekeeping and caring for his 8 year old daughter Alice. You discover early on that the guy's wife had left him a while back, and in the aftermath he has become an alcoholic and a drug addict, and doesn't give a shit about his daughter any more. One evening, having gotten high off of Red Ice, he flies into a fit of rage and starts verbally and physically abusing Alice, causing her to flee upstairs. He grabs his belt and follows her upstairs, but before doing so, he initiates a "Freeze" command on Kara, which has her stuck in place, preventing her from following him. The mental distress Kara experiences triggers her AI into developing sentience and self-awareness, disabling the freeze effect. She rushes upstairs, grabs Alice and flees the house.
Following the escape, Kara discovers that she is not the only android to have triggered sentience, and learning of a safe haven for self-aware androids up in Canada. The story that follows is of Kara and Alice's journey up north, protecting and caring for her along the way. Having almost made it to the safe haven, a plot twist happens where it is revealed that Alice is also an android, something that Kara does NOT deal well with at all. Which finally brings us to the sentiment: The intervention by another android, Luther: "You knew from the beginning. You just didn't want to see it. She wanted a mom, and you wanted someone to care for. You needed each other. What difference does it make? Do you love her any less now that you know she's one of us? Alice loves you Kara. She loves you more than anything in the world. She became the little girl you wanted! And you became the mother she needed. Forgetting who you are, to become what someone needs you to be... Maybe that's what it means to be alive." It's that last bit there that always stuck with me: "Forgetting who you are, to become what someone needs you to be... Maybe that's what it means to be alive." That was the bit I wanted to share with you. Sorry for typing up half a novel, but context is key and all.
Yeah but what about Ramones sister, is she moved out? and Police couldnt contact with her and she left her house ile that?? I think she saw how abusive her brother is and ended up dead...
Its insane to me how ppl get wildly different sentences for similar or even worse crimes.... feels like there should be more standard rules for sentencing
Even standardized sentences are not perfect. The judge and possible jury see way more evidence than we see on these videos. And as stated, the prosecutor did not prove the “parents” killed the babies.
She got what?.................6 years, with 5 years off as already served? That's an absolute slap in the face to those babies who suffered so horrifically at her hands. I will never understand the Justice system.
I feel so bad for not only the babies, but for the older children. Kids always know what's going on and it must have have really done something to them that will last a lifetime😢
I also feel bad for them all, not sure what you mean by, kids ALWAYS know what's going on, but they don't. They are generally easily fooled, which is what makes them so vulnerable to predators.
I meant that they had to know on some level what was going on. Kids are trusting, yes, but they are extremely observant by nature, as they learn by watching others in their close environment. They see and hear everything, even if you think they aren't paying attention. Every parent knows what I mean😂
@@bossyspaghetti Well you're sure full of confidence, but it's only a useful trait if you're correct, which you aren't. I'm a parent and I don't know what you mean. I'm also a grandparent and I've worked with kids in a therapeutic environment for 18 years. Some kids are more observant than others, but most of the time most kids are so busy dealing with what's on their own plates that they don't "see and hear everything". And today, we can add video screens right in front of many of their sets of eyes. In fact 2 days ago I bandaged up an early teen who was looking at her phone and walked right into a plate of food being eaten by a rotweiller. I wonder what age of kids your blanket statement refers to? A 16 year old with a new crush, or a toddler who can't find a favorite toy? They aren't even interested in seeing or hearing everything. You would enhance your credibility if you eliminated those global statements, especially in reference to people. You don't have a clue what "every" parent knows or what all children see. That confidence is misplaced and doesn't make you seem like a wise authority, it does, however, lead me to believe you probably are, on some level, condescending and likely quite bossy. 🤣😂
Children do see a lot, yes, but that doesn't mean they understand it. They said the son avoided home so he probably didn't feel comfortable there but, conditioning is powerful, he may not have even known why. There was no suggestion that he gave his friend's parents other reasons to be concerned. Plus, the way they described the discovery gave me the impression that he thought enough of the situation to make his friend aware but didn't comprehend enough to know what a big deal it was. It came across as probably somewhat casual... Just hanging out skateboarding one day and suddenly the unprecedented happens, shocking the friend and probably the son as well. You are right in the sense that when things are understood, in real time or in hindsight (even if things are never truly understood), it stays with a person forever. I don't know how any of the children are doing now - foster care isn't exactly known for providing a stellar upbringing and the paternal grandparents raised the father (yikes) - but I hope they're all safe and finding their way.
I’m so freaking confused like WTF?!!!! How is she NOT held accountable for those DEAD babies that were found in the closet???!!! Ok the one baby was presumed to be still born, but what about the other 2 babies??! They were dressed in diapers and onesies so that means at some point they were alive and she had some type of 😊interaction with them. If anything she should’ve been charged with tampering of evidence, abuse of a corpse child neglect and abandonment. I’m not understanding this sh!+
Thank you! Finally a sane person in the comment section! I feel nauseated, not only by this awful case but also by the pity and understanding that disgusting excuse for a woman is getting! Also, there's no chance in hell that her significant other had no idea.
I dont want to arm chair diagnose, but she honestly sounds autistic. A lot of autistic people can fly under the radar because of heavy masking, but they struggle to make it outside of their familiar family structure. Autistic teens and adults are also more likely to be taken advantage of and abused. It sounds to me like she had a LOT of social difficulties and that she was most likely born with them. The psychiatrist even said that she had poor working memory as well as a few other symptoms of a neurodevelopmental condition. And since her child has also been diagnosed with autism it would make sense since its genetic. You would be appalled at just how many children die at the hands of neurologically and mentally inccable parents just because those parents didn't get diagnosed and supported when they should have. Someone should have stepped in or seen the symptoms in the mother during early childhood, but thats unfortunately not the way the world works. The sad reality is we keep bringing people into this world, not supporting them correctly and then letting them have kids who go on to repeat that cycle.
@@Problempossum11 no disrespect to you or anything but I do not agree with that. I have a son that is autistic. He is severely autistic. He is nonverbal. He is not potty trained. He is also severely epileptic. Although all autistic children and adults are not as severe as my son is, I know a great deal about autism. I know there are many many levels of autism. The spectrum is very, very large however, I have seen how someone with the slightest touch of autism behaves, and I truly do not believe that this woman has autism. She may have some type of personality disorder, or some type of mental issues going on but what ever it is that she suffers from I will not for one minute sit here and accept the theory, and agree that whatever is wrong with her is the cause of what she did to all of those babies that she had, the ones that she killed, and the ones she had that she just neglected for years is the reason for that. There’s nothing wrong with that woman besides, the fact that she is selfish lazy, and one of the biggest poorest excuses for a mother you are not going to convince me that throughout this woman’s whole entire life, she had some type of touch of autism, or some other type of mental disability and or learning disability, and that is what caused her to do what she did to those babies. It’s just not gonna happen. Autism does not make you evil autism does not make you neglectful or selfish or self-centered.
@@allisonmitchell7379 She is a sociopath IMO she shows no regard for right and wrong and is incapable of feeling for others there is no other explanation for how she could do that to a child most people it would be impossible for them to neglect a child in that way. I agree. Aside the fact both parents were wrong. The damage to those children will be irreversible. Yes they may gain weight they may learn to walk and talk. But forever their mental status is damaged. It will come out later in life.
If I see animals neglected I’m on the phone calling animal control. The main reason I wouldn’t let a tenant have a pet is because I can’t stand how most people treat their animals. It’s neglect more than actual cruelty and that’s what causes bored pets to become destructive. The landlord never saw the condition of this house? Neighbors never saw anything, what about teachers? Just the smell is a clue you’re neglecting those children.
@@HayleysComet3 Not allowing tenants to have pets is BS. Having pets can be extremely beneficial for people. Yeah. He should have at least gotten the same! In fact, animal abuse was a crime before child abuse was. The first child abuse case was argued that because the child was an animal - of the species homo sapiens, the animal abuse laws should apply. In this case, that legal theory still holds: Those neglected 2 younger children were at the very least animals of the homo sapiens species, so the animal neglect laws should apply. We DO have child abuse/neglect laws that give longer punishments in recent history though.

@emilyvee4922 there's NOTHING wrong with being pregnant, a sex worker, and having tattoos..maybe she's still dealing with crappy judgemental people. Like you!
It shows the value that the government puts upon the life of a child in comparison to the value they put upon not being able to tax something. It's disgusting that there are people in jail for possessing cannabis and others doing community service or suspended sentences for pedophilia.
My husband is locked up in the state of South Dakota doing a 40 year bid for first degree robbery ( not excusing his crime but he did not get any money from the casino only a purse and did hit someone he deserves time but not 40years ) !! Crimes like this make me sick knowing there’s people like this who get less time and the justice system is definitely worried about the wrong things ☹️
@@whothegnuareyou8682I know your comment is from a year ago, but as someone in a recreational state, it makes me sad when I smoke tbh. Thinking about all the people that are just sitting there rotting for doing the same thing I am. Just sitting outside on the porch at night and taking a toke before bed. It’s not criminal. This, this case and anything remotely like it, that is truly criminal!!
I was neglected from a young age till my parents died. These kinds of stories really touch me deeply. Neglectful, narcissistic parents are horrible people. It starts when you're a baby and it goes on for the rest of your life. Children need protection and shelter from the outside world and from adult issues and situations. I can't stand people who don't treat their children right.
So was I. My mom was incredibly sick and disabled I became her caregiver at 11 when my dad took off. Than my adult sister left her two babies. My mom wasn’t in away place to take care of them, she was wheelchair bound and spent most days in bed or would be in hospital for weeks at a time. I did my best to take care of everyone but being just a kid myself everything become overwhelming extremely fast. But even at the young age I knew to keep the house clean and give my baby nieces a bath every other day. It definitely messed me up having ti be a caretaker at such a young age, but lucky as I got older and my nieces things goy easier, my moms health also got better and once she was approved for disability and food stamps it helped. I was able to get into a training program so I could be a peer support counselor and I help other people in situations like I was in. I’m 32 now my oldest niece is in college and my youngest is about to graduate high school with a full ride into collage. I got married 3 years ago and had a baby that just turned 1, I had enough savings and my husband works from home so I could take time off so I can be here for our baby during the first years. I would do anything and everything for my baby. I remember a couple months ago at the park my baby tripped and I didn’t catch her in time and she skinned her knee, I felt horrible and I just held her comforting her and feeling so guilty I didn’t catch she In time. That was an accident and I felt guilty. But parents that hurt their babies on purpose or let them suffer? I will need understand that. Even when I was 11 and knew very little I was a better caretaker than these monsters ever did. I went to a library and looked into books for childcare and want to expect for a baby. How are some people so fucked in the head they can’t do better than an 11 year old child and a wheelchair bound chronically Ill adult?
They both suffer from mental health issues, they are literally sick in the head. Neither took care of those sickness and it shows through the way they lived.😢
@@christinemichellle Wow, you are an amazing person with a huge heart! I am so sorry you were put through all of that, but I am immensely impressed by your attitude and for never giving up. ❤
Well, remember she told Ramon that "the mother works a lot". Yeah, apparently she works 24/7/365 !!! How do two people with the same deadly mental conditions always manage to find each other and produce a bunch of kids?? Did neither of them know about the availability of birth control? She could have got the pill for free from a public health clinic. Better yet, HE was the one who didn't want any more kids. 30 minutes to have a vasectomy and none of this would have happened.
All children are worthy and a blessing to the world. I'm sorry your childhood was full of pain and suffering instead of innocence and joy. You did not deserve what you endured. I hope you are well ❤
This happened down the street from me. It was wild. The whole street was blocked off for a few days. Looking that the house from the outside you’d never guess it looked like that inside. I feel bad for everyone involved from the kids to the animals both alive and dead. It was horrible.
It's hard to imagine that there's folks out there free casually shopping and appearing normal while all the while they're at home doing stuff like this to their children.
I’m in tears. Those poor babies, all of them! All the love, attention and stimulation they deserved and should have had but instead were locked in a filthy room with a dead dog left to rot.
Ramon absolutely knew about the babies. He was too busy using them to abuse and control his wife, whom he groomed as a teen and entrapped in marriage. If he didn't want anymore kids, he could have gotten perm or temp sterilization. He could have used protection. He could have pulled out! He knew what to expect as a consequence of his actions. He's just a manipulative monster. Erica holds responsibility in this too, but a long stint in a mental hospital needs to come first. If she's not treated first as a victim of abuse and someone who needs urgent menyal health-care, she can't be rehabilitated through the prison sentence. Just a light sentence is not the way to go!
Completely agree. She doesn't even fully understand why sge is in trouble. They need to address her mental issues first otherwise how will she learn to do better???
Unfortunately I don't think that the world is going to see her as a victim. She's likely not going to get the help that she needs. Like most women in this kind of situation, she's more than likely going to fall through the cracks. The country cares more about punishment than they do about rehabilitation or healing. The people want blood, not a happy ending. It's a sad but true fact.
I think the same thing, I also don't understand why Erica wouldn't go on birth control or get abortion. You could say it was due to her beliefs or morals but she didn't have any problems with neglecting them once they were born so I doubt she had such a dilemma.
a man like him probably would not allow her to be on birth control. Im sure he knew she kept getting knocked up and he loved it because it kept her miserable, cowed, and busy. Ejaculating in her without protection was a means to dominate and control her and Im sure he loved the idea of forcing her to bear his children in "secret" repeatedly- as it was pure torture for his victim. I say this because abusers really love being cruel to the people they abuse, as they gradually dehumanize them & villianize their victims in order to justify their abuse as "righteous" (which is why their abuse *always* escalates and gets more heinous over time). I think that if she asked for birth control he would have kicked her ass or worse. . @@misopeachy
Absolutely right and I wrote that thing. Babies cry, especially as instants every two hours to be fed baby formula. They were absolutely 1000% neglected but they weren’t emaciated. Which meant that she was feeding them formula! So what the hell did the husband think that she was going upstairs to do when she was doing that. How did he not hear the babbling of a toddler and the cries of an infant. Bullshit. Don’t tell me he didn’t know. But obviously later on we find out that he knew because he was found guilty of murder. But again. There were other children in the house and upstairs like come on. Give me a break. Also with her having the babies on her bathroom floor meant that the umbilical cord Also came out which she must have cut herself, and the placenta and the after birth. So that means she must have to spend at least hours cleaning out that bathroom floor. And once again, don’t tell me that he didn’t know!
How the heck is it possible that the dad didn't know? How does she have the intelligence to create a fake facebook friend to explain the babies but not the ability to realize she wasn't taking care of them properly? How did the neighbors not smell something more than could be chalked up as normal dog smells? So much of this doesn't make sense. And those kids should not be with the paternal grandparents IMO because look at the guy they raised...
We may come from bad environments and grow up caring... Some could come from good, and be uncaring. There's no blame towards anyone other than the parents. ... of their seven children, and their pets. They deserved 3 life sentences, for their three children hidden in that house, deceased, and cruelty for their four children who survived... ,and, sentenced for their beautiful pets who suffered, as well 🙏🙏🙏
He knew. Similar to parents who “ignore” their child’s pregnancies. It’s a “you handle it” kind of unspoken rule. No doubt at some point she said “I’m pregnant again” and he said “I don’t want more kids, figure it out”.
That woman and the “father” deserved much, MUCH worse than what they got. That judge needs to get booted; she’s notoriously lenient. Those poor babies and even the two older “known” children suffered for so long! I hope and pray they are all doing much better now.

Right. He knew everything he was in control. He knew whenever she was pregnant and gave birth. And he was a major part of how the children were treated

For various reasons, the unborn child is regarded as a threat to the existence of the family. The paternal and maternal instincts do not develop because the child is viewed as a thing-"it"-that must be disposed of as soon as possible. This detachment is an evolutionary phenomenon. If there are insufficient resources, animals will kill some of their offspring. If there was not enough food in the winter, mediaeval peasants would expose their infants to the elements. The problem is that the goal of human civilization is to defy animal instincts. That's why we have abortion before fetus can feel pain.

My cousin was adopted into our family from a situation that caused him to be born with FAS, ASD, ADHD, and ODD. His birth parents would leave him for the first year of his life with his 3 year old sister, who would watch him and fed them both from the garbage. His head was also flat from his sister being too young and too little to pick him up out of the crib. They're doing decently well as young adults, but the trauma doesn't go away.
i know this comment is old, but it makes me think so much about myself. I was 3 and caring for my newborn twin brothers; my mother taught me how to change diapers and make/give bottles and etc. so she didn't have to. The same is said here; we're doing decent with the shitty hand we were dealt, but those scars are still very much there at 24 and 21 respectively.
What happened to the children is unconscionable. This is in reference to the animals in this case as well. I would give anything to have my dog Fred back. I lost him 2 months ago. I will never understand how people can do this to children and animals. The silent, voiceless victims for the most part. I’m so grateful that the 2 little girls were saved. The animals barely saved and some of the other animals and babies stuffed in boxes deceased. I would do anything to have my doggo back and this…person just throws life away. She doesn’t understand how good she could have had it. All those precious children and animals to unconditionally love her. God she makes me sick.
@silverdoe9477 WORD. I support anyone who feels that prayer is a positive in their life, but prayer will not accomplish the massive overhaul of the BULLSHIT cps system that seems to only do 2 things: make parents jump through bullshit hoops for something minor (like letting a 10 year old walk to a park 1 block away) Or... completely IGNORE reports of abused/neglected children or quickly close such cases after a half-assed "investigation" which then so often leads to children being found near-dead or straight up murdered.
@kinseybrunp5920 Oh wonderful to hear you say that! I'm sure the remaining children will benefit a lot from you sitting around at home, talking to yourself about it. So much more helpful than what @silverdoe9477 is proposing: Actually fucking doing something to help!
tbh... I blame the husband totally he gets a 'girl' pregnant, who then looses her self worth over night, says SHE cant have anymore kids , probably with threatening to leave her and the kids after making her financially bound to him and more than likely telling her she's worthless and no one else loves her till she well and truly broke... bet HE wouldn't get the snip, wear a condom or let her take the pill... I hope all her surviving kids grow up happy, I hope she finally finds her self again, but to NEVER had anymore kids. I dont think she's a harm to them, as her oldest were fine. Off the McDonalds bit- we had a guy get fired for trying to get the young high school girls to go out for drinks while sending them nasty texts. He stormed out of the office yelling that he can't even defend himself, which like bro you were trying to get with underage girls. He was in his 40's. So it does happen sometimes
She was clearly severely mentally ill. It's possible that having a pregnancy in high school instilled a high level of shame in Erika's mind when it came to becoming pregnant, as a lot of girls who get pregnant in high school experience a lot of ridicule and judgement. It can be very traumatic. As far as Ramone, there is no way he didn't know about all of this. I can see no excuse for this.
If you're ashamed of being pregnant, you'd think that you'd be taking steps towards avoiding it. No birth control has a 100% success rate and I totally understand that accidents happen. Especially if you're a teen and you're growing up in a country full of bible thumpers who might not want you to have access to birth control or sex ed in the first place. But there's no way you accidentally become pregnant SIX TIMES. Just like there's no way you keep knocking up your wife and don't notice. Those two are both deranged.
My husband and I made the decision many years ago to not have children. But that being said, had we fallen pregnant we would have loved and cared for them unconditionally. I simply cannot fathom these actions.
I have looked for other coverage on this case and had only seen short news clips. Thank you for digging into all of the details and facts and providing them for us. I live in MA and have always wondered what exactly happened here. It's very very sad. I wish someone had adopted the 2 babies by now.

I can contest that still happens at McDonald’s. I work there at 16 and had a relationship with my manager that was much older (I believe in his 30s) they aslo had me working until 4 am as a minor which is illegal and refused to pay me for the first 2 months until I threatened to sue. so it’s no wonder stuff like that was normalized
The so-called father should have been charged with partner abuse too....... he groomed her then continued to diminish her self value until she believed she had nowhere to turn for help. Unless you understand what that type of abuse feels like, it's hard to have sympathy in situations like this. Normal people don't do this, which is why I say her condition wasn't even close to the norm. It's so obvious to me that she was not emotionally mature enough & his actions towards her made it all worse. Even her own family failed her. This entire situation is a sad but more common than it should be. So many want to grab a pitchfork against the mother, but fail to have the insight needed to understand the levels of abuse she suffered played a significant role, which triggered her subsequent behaviors. She needed severe mental health intervention (which is what that Judge realized). No amount of jail time would truly "help" her. If you EVER have a neighbor or friend who suddenly vanishes from outside life, or starts any behaviors out of the norm, look into it/get authorities involved. You could very well be wrong, but it's better to be the one to stand-up for another than to pretend as if someone else will help......don't fall to the bystander effect.

This was crazy. That woman should be in jail for life and on death row...how in the world???. It totally breaks my heart to think about how those babies suffered. Thank you guys for covering this story and bringing it to light. Thank you for all u do!!! Much ❤
I agree with the mental ward part at least. I kinda wish Ramone got a much longer sentence, though I'm not sure how long the statute of limitations applies for a grown man having sex with a girl who wasn't of age at the time (afaik)...
She should be given the option of life behind bars (or in a nuthouse) or forced sterilization so she can no longer breed like a cockroach. I fear that now she's out she'll repeat her actions and kill more babies.
the poor 3-5yo girl having to live with a rotting corpse dead baby in her room with her is huge trauma as well as all her neglect and being an it in her mother's eyes and heart is very cruel
It is awful how these children were living and my heart goes out to all of them. I don’t condone her behaviors and I’m not making excuses BUT this sounds like yet another example of a woman who gives birth to multiple children in quick succession and not getting the post natal care that is sooooo lacking in our country. The medical system is set up to only care about women before birth and not after. She was probably in a long and constant cycle of postpartum depression/psychosis with no coping skills or knowledge/ access to resources that could have helped her and saved many of those babies.
Well, this is why we have contraception. I am unable to have children and I'm absolutely disgusted hearing about cases like this one. Also, how on earth can a woman get post natal care whilst birthing her babies at home and keeping them a secret?
@@violette80That's precisely her point! Ramone ruled by fist and coercion. In the video it was stated that one of the older kids flinched when anyone near them moved. That's horrific and it proves that someone was striking them. I don't doubt that it was Ramone and I absolutely believe that he beat Erica. Extreme abuse turns the victim robotic. What kind of male human demands that there be no further pregnancies, and then continues copulation, yet fails to get a vasectomy or drive his partner to the health department to acquire a form of birth control?? In consideration of Erica receiving post natal health care to address post partum depression/psychosis, it's actually irrelevant WHERE the infants were birthed, or even if they HAD to be kept a secret, because of Ramone's wrath. The point being made is that due to the oppressive and violent atmosphere in the house, it was impossible for Erica to receive the care she so sorely needed. If she HAD been allowed to leave the house, she could have taken a bus to Planned Parenthood (if theirs wasn't shut down) or the local health department, acquired some form of birth control, and there would be no dead babies. There might still be squalor and the only crime would be the pitiful dead dogs.
@@violette80I certainly pray you never watch a love one collapse mentally. There was a clear down slide of her mental state. Things like contraception tend to fall lower on the necessity scale if you are struggling to function. There is no excuse for what occurred but unlike so many other stories covered on this channel, I can't help but see the lack of malicious intent. It's easy to scream "contraception" but where are you when mental health services are difficult to obtain?
Post natal care is not lacking in our country. There are so many non profits, government programs, and religious groups that will help if you take the time to walk in and ask. If she was so mentally ill and incapable how did she know to create a fake Facebook account to hide her actions. I'm not buying it
Medically, I think by jelly fish they are speaking of the stage of decomp called Black Putrefaction. The body becomes flat and the outside becomes creamy, wet, or slimy looking. If you've seen a jellyfish out of water, this is what they look like. Not to mention, these were young and most likely pale bodies so the skin, I would imagine, would be translucent.

Which finally brings us to the sentiment:
The intervention by another android, Luther:
"You knew from the beginning. Maybe that's what it means to be alive."
It's that last bit there that always stuck with me: "Forgetting who you are, to become what someone needs you to be... Maybe that's what it means to be alive."
That was the bit I wanted to share with you. Sorry for typing up half a novel, but context is key and all.
Thank God for the neighbor that decided to investigate or who knows when those children would be found.

I feel bad for the poor pets, too!

It’s not even a deterrent, it’s basically encouraging child abuse. Absolutely disgusting

Yeah. He should have at least gotten the same! In fact, animal abuse was a crime before child abuse was. I have a cousin adopted from Russia. She spent 9 months in an orphanage. Had a flat head, couldn’t crawl or sit up due to staying swaddled. She was adopted by a cousin of mine. They were excellent parents. They had all the resources and opportunities in the world. The girl became a total disaster of a person: drugs, teen pregnancy, covered in tatts, and stripping for work.

Are the children okay now?
I think that if she asked for birth control he would have kicked her ass or worse. .

So much of this doesn't make sense. low IQ and use of drugs .Animals don't behave as they have .How they walk free is a disgrace. The judge was ridiculous...
Those poor babies being locked in a room, one of them for 3 years. Both of those parents deserved more time. Unbelievable.

His head was also flat from his sister being too young and too little to pick him up out of the crib. They're doing decently well as young adults, but the trauma doesn't go away.

I can't believe they would let either of them out, considering what they've done and their potential to have even more children.
You're giving a murderer the excuse , why ?
If you're ashamed of being pregnant, you'd think that you'd be taking steps towards avoiding it. No birth control has a 100% success rate and I totally understand that accidents happen. Especially if you're a teen and you're growing up in a country full of bible thumpers who might not want you to have access to birth control or sex ed in the first place. But there's no way you accidentally become pregnant SIX TIMES. Just like there's no way you keep knocking up your wife and don't notice. Those two are both deranged.

As if that's an excuse for abusing your children....an explanation maybe, but not an excuse. Sorry.

She should be given the option of life behind bars (or in a nuthouse) or forced sterilization so she can no longer breed like a cockroach. I fear that now she's out she'll repeat her actions and kill more babies.
Monsters dont deserve jail. They need street justice ⚖️. Don't abuse kids.
the poor 3-5yo girl having to live with a rotting corpse dead baby in her room with her is huge trauma as well as all her neglect and being an it in her mother's eyes and heart is very cruel
That judge is corrupt! Those poor kids deserve justice! But the courts couldn't care less 😢🤬
Definitely. No one would just do this for the hell of it. She had intense support needs.
I'm not buying it
Cases like this is a perfect example of stuff that would become common if women didn’t have access to abortions
I can't believe that both girls had not died from failure to thrive from such neglect. 😢
As far as Dad not knowing...BULL. HE KNEW.
Just puttin' that out there as an explanation.
I think the saddest part is that an abuse victim was pushed to the point of not being able to take care of herself, let alone her children and pets.
