I agree. Reminds me of this girl on Facebook that I know. She can never be alone to figure herself out for ten minutes. She has a new boyfriend that she calls her "soulmates" every other month its a different guy that she's in "love" with. It's just really annoying lol. And the guys that she dates all seem to have a lot of issues. She needs to be alone to heal and to learn who she is, but for some reason she can't be and all it's doing is adding to her trauma when her new boyfriend dumps her and then she's off to get with another before even trying to heal from the last breakup. Seems like some sort of addiction almost.

I hear ya. My mom chose an abusive husband. My step father treated my brother and I horribly. He made me get a low paying minimum wage job so he could take more than half of my paycheck. They locked all of the food up, wouldn't allow me to take showers, do laundry, use the internet, cook on the stove or watch TV. I was a PAYING tenant and I wasn't even allowed basic tenant rights. Plus he hit my brother and I with a belt constantly and my mom stood by and let all of this go on. He was the first person I ever watched die. I let him go peacefully even when I had a lot to say. I'm 35 now and still carry a lot of trauma due to what my mom let happen. I don't even know why I still talk to her. I've had to be in therapy for the past ten years of my life

A complete 180. Truly, my unconditional love FOR HIM is why I'm sober for over 3 years and why I'll never go back. I'm saying this bc I would do anything for my son. I would die for him. Your videos have always been great but they have grown in quality exponentially in the last year. Thanks for all the work you guys put in.
Edit.. I wrote the first part of this comment before the very end. I had no idea you guys were sick. I did notice she was not visible but thought nothing of it because I was so engrossed in the story.. you guys did not fail to provide a damn good video.. together. I hope you feel better soon.

I've watched a few of these episodes and I think it's very brave of you to tackle this horrible subject. I remember when I had my son 31 years ago, he was failing to thrive. At the same time, my friend's baby daughter had a mysterious red, scaldy rash. I was accused of neglect and my friend was accused of scalding her baby with boiling water. Obviously, this wasn't the case. My son had a genetic defect and her daughter was allergic to material in her clothes. When we got over the shock and trauma of somebody thinking we would actually deliberately harm our newborns, we had to admit that if by accusing 10 parents, they find 1,well then it's worth it. Every single child is worth it. Keep up the stories. They need to be heard. Each story could possibly alert someone to make that vital call.

It sucks because I know the woman who was Governor during this time (Suzanna Martinez) so I have a bit of background on the case. We had also just recently had another child murdered in a road rage incident and people were rightly outraged. So the Governor, who’s husband was in law enforcement and she had been DA for several terms, was trying to be really harsh on these types of crimes. Unfortunately they tried to push through the case too quickly which is what led to so much of the case being thrown out. Victoria hasn’t received justice and likely won’t. So utterly heartbreaking and enraging.

My mom’s boyfriend would beat me anywhere but the face.
I remember once, when I was 9, when it was about 9:30 PM. My baby brothers’ bottle nipple had been chewed through by our cat.
    Mom was still out hooking.
He threw a dollar at me and told me to walk to the nearest store. We lived alongside a railroad, that wasn’t fenced. And was dark as midnight.
    I was scared.
He ended up punching me in the back of the head, sending me flying into the living room table.
Another time, there was a problem with the water outside (I’m still not sure what It was, or what I did wrong)
It was spraying all over the yard. (As usual, mom as out makin money)
    I was so scared.
This “man” punched, not hit, me when I was a 9 year old girl.
One time, we were living in a one room hotel room, with my baby brother. He and mom were fighting. Mom slept on the bed with my baby brother, I slept on the floor on one of those cheap air mattresses. He went from the door to the window, banging on them. He ended up breaking thru the window over my head, then grabbing up my mom and started punching her. I got my baby brother into his playpen and left, running down the halls. The people that owned the hotel just closed the window in my face🙃. (This was 1982)
Once, it was early and I was meant to get up for school. (I always was scared to get changed around him, particularly alone. Reasons withheld)
I was being ballsy. Mom was on the strip, and brother was asleep.
The alarm went of, and I just mumbled “screw you”.
Oooo, he straddled me and punched the crap outta me.
But stopped early enough to preserve my ability to go to school.
Police were called by friends’ parents a t least once, but they’d stand there with my mom and her bf standing behind them.
I knew I’d have to get out of that closet and go to our apartment.
    I had to lie.
    What else could I do?
    I had no family.
I was to small to know what to do.
It took till I was 14 to start leaving, and 16 to get my own place.
That’s it. At least a tiny bit.
I’ve unloaded on no one, but I still feel a bit less painfully full.
    Cool beans!😅
But STILL, never as bad as what this poor child went thru.
Just amazing that no one stepped in.
People. I know it feels weird to do, especially in some areas or rules of “no snitchin “.
Check it out; helping a small child is NOT snitching.
Not snitching, is being a selfish bitch.
My brother and I went thru hell, and everyone knew it. And no one cared.
    No one.
We were alone in the world.
Just think how the kid feels….

@@lorettaalvarez3655 I really appreciate you taking the time to see the pain that we went thru. Everyone has their own struggles and challenges. I don’t believe that I’ve had it harder than anyone else. What I do believe, is that I’d be grateful to be there for anyone going through a strange and twisted childhood. Unfortunately, someone like me, who understands the challenges and pain involved with growing up having gone thru such challenges and stress.
I own a condo. But I’m not married. I live with my 20 yr old daughter. We are about as healthy as you can get. I would like nothing more than to take in young people going through things that they feel leaves them alone in the world of “normal” people.
Unfortunately, the very people that could truly help young people going through these stressors, are pretty much barred from helping.
Cause we ain’t rich enough? Cause we don’t live in upper class areas? Or have manipulated the system to enjoy the money paid to care for these vulnerable children?
I can smell unfairness, and this is the case, far too often.
Bless these youngsters, and I can only hope that they are lucky enough to be matched with kindhearted, emotionally generous people.
And that’s all I got to say about that.

I've been watching your channel for a couple weeks now. You are really great at telling the story, and in such a professional way. Thank you 2 for that! While all of the stories are heart wrenching, this story has an effect on me. I haven't watched it yet. Because I've heard the story before. When I watched it before I didn't handle it well. I have a draw to true crime stories. I've watched more than I could count. I always feel so much compassion and sadness for the victims. But when it's children it's very hard on me. I'm a mom of 5. I have 3 angelic granddaughters, and a grandson coming in April. I became a mom at 16. While the stories are heard to hear about. I usually am still glad I listened. I feel like every time a new person learns about the victim/victims, that's there life being remembered once again. So that they're never forgotten. Listening to this story, I almost wasn't able to finish. But I made myself. For the precious little Victoria.
I truly have become a fan, and it makes me want to watch the story told in your special way. I'm just not ready tonight.... I'm sure I'll get there... but the last time I didn't rest well for a couple weeks. I couldn't quit remembering it for a while. I cried so much my eyes swelled up. So it'll take time.

    now there's a new one: D.V. (10:09-10:10)
    i just looked it up.
and when i heard "C.A.", i wondered why California was being mentioned in this story. (20:00-20:01)

That's what you think there's a terrible drug problem in prisons. Like I would not be surprised if she got her drug in prison for like three times the amount that it's worth. Because people will literally do that like how many times have we heard of prison guards supplying it for sexual favors? Like I would not be surprised.

This case is a great example of why its ok for cops to lie in interrogations.

This just in: attempting to commit a crime is not a crime. Everyone in for attempted murder is immediately released and their charges are to be erased. How could we have gone this long without realizing that?

If attempting to do something illegal isn't a crime, then what is "attempted murder"? That cop was full od shit.

I am originally from Albuquerque and all I have to say is...stay excellent APD! You're great I have no notes!
I have seen people dead on the street after they were shot or stabbed a couple times but surely Albuquerque is very safe and APD does an *amazing* job.

I feel so bad for these kids that really never knew true love from a parent. They don't pick their parents and a parent should love and protect their children against all evil. I did.
