Thinking of buying this. I am currently using EOS 3000d and I guess this is a pretty good upgrade over the basic 3000d. I'm an occasional traveller who use camera while on trip.
If you want to do really (i mean really good) portraits, gets this camera second hand (around 500$) and buy the sigma 1.4 56mm EFM mount, its insane. i couldnt ask for more for 800$, not even pro gear can beat the quality and size of this combination.
i'm kinda on a budget and looking for a compact travel camera that can shoot 4K, the Fuji X-T30 really appealed to me but it's a little expensive for my budget, the M50 ii however can be had for 500€ used on MPB marked "good as new" which seems like a really good deal for me, especially if i can find a sub 300€ decent lens. Prime or zoom doesn't really matter to me but I'd probably like an 18mm to get close to the 28mm on the Leica Q3 that i absolutely adore
Is this cam good if i want to shoot sharp photos with it for lets say photogrammetry? Or is there any better camera for the same price out there for this?
Too much image quality degradation with the speed booster. I had to stop using it. Once you see it, you can't unsee it. Better go with Canon's own pancake lens instead.
I have this camera, found it doesn’t work great in dark settings for sports because the F-Stop doesn’t let you go low so you have the crank the ISO causing grain.
i am looking for a camera for photographing my idol on her concert and it's usually in the low light condition (night concert), does this camera suitable for me?
Seems like nobody can answer that I guess. Either you gotta increase your budget or compromise with used gears. It's more about lens when it comes to low light situation, sharpness and shallow depth of field, which costs big bucks. Even my 8-year-old Sony A6000 could produce awesome photos with the right lenses on it.
@@viejournal4107i would say it would depend really on what content you are shooting, if you are more on videos or more on photos, then get a lens that gives you what you need.

If you don't care about 4k, it is an ok camera. Video quality could have been higher, but it is perfectly serviceable. I personally regret not getting a Fuji or Sony camera tbh, but it's not the end of the world. For your usage, the M50 seems like the perfect camera. The only thing you should really note is to NOT buy native EF-M lenses. I would personally even suggest skipping the kit lens, but if you get a good deal it's fine. The M series is now a discontinued or about to be discontinued system. Lenses are getting hard to find and have always been very limited. Don't get me wrong I own the M50 mk2 and expect to use it for years to come.. But you'd be buying into a dead system. Plus, Canon is behaving like a closed system much like Apple.
If you buy a cheap EF adapter and treat your camera like an EF camera, then it doesn't even matter anyway. I plan on upgrading from my M50 some time, but all of the lenses I already have are EF, so I can easily adapt them to RF, or even E mount or X mount. But, if you buy new, it's much better to just get the R50 or even the R100, since the mount is alive and well.
