One of the big themes in the modern warfare trilogy is the loss of potential. Soap was price’s successor. Trained and armed by him. And roach was soap’s. When roach and ghost die you cant help but feel sad because he was supposed to be the next generation and had the potential. But it doesnt hit until soap’s death. The young are the first to go, and the old live bitter, wishing it had been them. By the end of the series, there’s no one left to carry the torch. Price remains the only survivor. Tired, and exhausted.

Roach was the successor of Soap, Roach and Ghost died. Soap died... Yuri died, everyone except Captain John Price... You might think is a curse, But I think is a luxury.
The way Mac says “What do you need from me, son?” sends shivers to my spine, its like Captain Price has lost everything and has resorted to his last resort. the person who was his trust, and mentor, just like what Price was to Soap. That with the music they used ... god it makes you feel like you are in the game and its personal. Infinity ward perfects call of duty campaigns.

Captain Price was Mac’s student and watching him become the man he was must’ve made Mac proud. Soap was Price’s student so watching his student die on his watch and not become the great man he was destined to become must’ve been horrible.
I think it's more like actual father/son relationship. Price was trained under his wing for who knows how long and both have been through a lot. Mac is the only person Price is comfortable enough to express his vulnerable emotion to, which says a lot

I think it's more like actual father/son relationship. Price was trained under his wing for who knows how long and both have been through a lot. Mac is the only person Price is comfortable enough to express his vulnerable emotion to, which says a lot
