      u can choose the colors and materials in expensive cars , u don't like aston interior because its black , while porsche has red which is very catchy to eyes , imagine aston interior in red and porsche in black .
      i like both cars but u cant judge cars interior by looking in videos or pics , u really need to feel it , and u only feel it when u r inside that car .

    • @TheMpofu
      @TheMpofu 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      DEEPANKER DHIMAN nothing to do with the colour of the interior, the Aston looks outdated every where

    • @911724027913
      @911724027913 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kingsley Mpofu yes ........ because they are using same design because of its 2/3 ratio design which makes the aston unique than other cars . and for designing it is very hard to make different car design which follows 2/3 ratio we can't even imagine how hard it is . other car brands does use this ratio so they came out with new designs every year which makes the aston outdated .

    • @mzwandilemkhwanazi2882
      @mzwandilemkhwanazi2882 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      DEEPANKER DHIMAN Bruh give it up. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion the porsche quit frankly is a better looking car but the aston does have a nice grunt to it however i do agree that the aston is outdated

  • @unnerum
    @unnerum 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Actually I have no idea what he's on about, when he's talking about the charm of the Aston. To me the Porsche also looks so much better from the inside and the finish is top notch without any cheap looking plastic vents and buttons.
    Porsche's leap forward with the current generation of 911's is nothing short of staggering.

    The AM used to look better than the Porsches but now it just looks old. It is almost 10 years old now, isnt it? Maybe it's time for a new model? Or is AM in deep financial shit again?

      Soulware3D No, but their design gets constant modifications and even though it's practically the same, the car looks new and modern. The AM looks its age even if it is prettier.

      @Sandouras 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Jimmy Joji I didnt ask them to change it completely, but to give it a facelift. It's not like modern day AM look like Connery's DB5. Designs need to stay up to date. Crisper lines and light clusters, better grill, etc.

    • @MrLalasd
      @MrLalasd 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Dorifto Kingu! A 2004 vanquish has the same interior the current vantage. Just look at how ugly the steering wheel is. Have you seen a BMW's m steering wheel or mclaren's steering wheel ... so gorgeous. The Aston is hand made so to fit and finish is bad. The dials don't make sense, the soul key is fucking stupid and the user interface for stuff like climate control and what not is unusable. That screen is tilted down who ever did that should be shot. Also the seat controls are on the middle console part. So every time you use your knees to keep your self in the seat the seat moves.

    • @LelouchVelvet
      @LelouchVelvet 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      MrLalasd Firstly 2004 Vanquish interior does not look good (but 2004 DB9 does). Secondly I personally find Astons interior and steering wheel beautiful and suiting car's role (its luxury grand tourer not GT class car..). And you are telling me that BMW's steering wheels are better? 2015 and 2014 M models have thinner wheel (finally) but older steering wheels look bulky as fck. Ugly. Dials don't make sense? Learn how to read... How is climate control unusable? Tilted screen is bad? 918? How would you use your knees to stay in seat? What car do you drive?

      Worse in every way?
      looks?
      sound?

      i guess that in the 'youtube' world these things are trivial compared to the car being a few seconds a lap slower round a race track (which no owner would ever take their car).
      Are you saying Aston is too slow?, its a convertible which reaches 60 in 3.9sec ffs.

    Lets be honest here. Aston Martin - which I love - is on the edge of bankruptcy, because they have not build a completely new car for 10 years, and they are in dire need of a larger company to give them the technology, which they need to get closer to rivals like Porsche.
    I actually also think, the Porsche look a lot better. With those airvents in the bonnet, the V12 Vantage just looks a bit clumsy in my opinion.
    If it was my money, I actually would buy none of these cars. It would either be a used (and by now very cheap) Aston Martin Vantage with the V8 engine, or a brand new Porsche Boxster S with the 3,4 liter non-turbocharged 6-cylinder boxer engine.
    Because to be honest again, for a roadster these cars are already more than powerfull enough. The huge amount of extra money, which you need to pay to upgrade yourself from 320-380 to 550 hp is just not worth it, as you can never use that extra power on public roads anyway.

  • @naels91
    @naels91 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Who cares if the Porsche is faster?! I mean I love the turbo s but we're talking about really powerfully cars! What's the difference between 500 and 600 hp! It's already a powerful car! So stop comparing the faster car! It's all about the feeling! The cabin, the interior , the connection with the road! I absolutely adore the Porsche but I'd take the Aston Any day! What a beautiful machine! What an amazing engine!

    Great review. The new Porsche Turbos are a very quiet car. Such a silent killer of a car. The 991 carrera c2s/c4s actually sound nicer to me. I can appreciate the love for the raw V12 in that vantage, I mean, who doesn't just love a naturally aspirated LOUD engine when you're paying top dollar for a supercar?

  • @jschauer31

    Awesome clip and review. The Porsche Turbo S is insane. And as near perfect as it gets. And beautiful. And pedigreed. And a BARGAIN! Yes. Bargain. Blows everything out in every category and lasts. I owned an 80's 3.2 Carrera and all I can say is I would rather have a 20+ year old 911 over just about everything available. Fantastic.

    The 911 has my vote. I'd LOVE to take it on a trip from the French Riviera up to the UK. And it would be perfect in doing so. The Aston would look good doing so too but the Porsche is just more capable.

  • @pipnmaz
    @pipnmaz 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Small gripe and being nit-picky but the Aston costs £147,000 (as per this video quoted stats). That's around $242,550 depending on the exchange rate to US Dollars - I wouldn't call that the thick end of a million dollars, more like almost quarter of a million dollars.
    Also if that Turbo S is 4 wheel drive it has the most bizarre handling of a 4 wheel drive I've ever seen - it just looks rear wheel drive and tail happy, smoking the rear tyres during oversteer while the fronts stay planted.
    If I ever was lucky enough to be able to choose between the 2 it would be the Porsche by a mile.

    Multiple Aston Martin owners have told me over the years that these cars are some of the most unreliable cars you can imagine. They need constant expensive maintenance and there's always something that needs to be repaired. I really like them though, but if I wanted to spend that amount of money I'd expect a little more than good looks and a loud exhaust.

    I actually do own a 997 techart turbo and a Aston Martin DB9 V12, and vantage V8 the thing the a lot of you guys not all but most don't seem to realize is that each of the cars are made for different scenarios of life you need to look at a car as a personality the Porsche when you get in you don't want to cruise you look for twisty roads and open straights to let it go in the Aston you want to get dressed up and park it in front somewhere while taking the long way home just to go for that long cruise at the end of the day no mater how hard they try when you actualy get into it Porsche is a real everyday race car absoloutley stunning in every aspect of the word driving while Aston is a beautiful relaxing drive which makes you feel like a million bucks regardless if you have it these are completely different cars this shouldn't even be a review lol

    Im a Porsche guy, but I prefer the looks and sound of the Vanquish. I prefer the performance and comfort of the Turbo S. I think they are both overpriced however. Get a C4S Cabriolet and have 98% of the fun at tens of thousands less. Or get a Boxster GTS, have the same fun, and spend 1/2. The Turbo Cabs are big heavy cars in their own right, only looking lean and taut when compared to legitimate whales like Astons and Audis.

    There shouldn't even be a question of comparing these two cars. The Turbo S is light years ahead of the Vantage. This doesn't means that I despise the Vantage, I do appreciate the Aston too, but when you're talking about performance, Porsche is incomparable.

    So in most american cars (left hand drive) I have driven with paddle shifters upshift is on the right and downshift is on the left. Is this reversed in right hand drive cars?
    Would a regular stick shift transmission be reversed too or do right hand drivers sit closest to 5th and 6th gear?

    • @justplainnic
      @justplainnic 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shifting is the same. Right hand drive, down paddle on the left, up paddle on the right. Manuals are the same in both lhd or rhd.

    And somebody calls V12 Vantage S front heavy? LOL there is a reason why they have put the engine front-midship and there is a reason why they have put the the transmission on the rear axle. The weight ratio should be like 52/48, and it's pretty good for a front engine rear drive car. No. There won't be any understeer madness, if you know what you are doing.
    Steve clearly stated 911 turbo S is a lot quicker, and I fully agree. But we are not talking about the rap time here, but talking about driving on the road and having fun. Just like Steve I would love the V12 noise of Aston.

    992 Turbo S it was not overly flashy
    It did not come with the Exotic baggage , it’s a great daily drive and then the performance.

    This could of been set out so much better to show the viewers the point of both cars like manual vs pdk. As nearly every one knows dual clutches are in a league of their when it comes to paddle shifters so comparing the Aston to the Porsche in paddle form is pretty pointless.
    In my own oppinion it would of been better if it was layed out like this:
    British vs German
    Efficiency vs Simplicity
    Manual vs Paddles
    Forced induction vs Natural aspirated

    Damn, I want Aston. Porsche is better car in every way (except beetle looks), but Aston for me is the class. Not giving a damn about lap times, acceleration, top speed. Just stoping by casino, hotel or whatever and giving your keys to that young boy, who will have to park it and seeing him trying to contain his happiness. Beeing James Bond to yourself, a hero, that doesn't care too much about the others, numbers or whatever he left behind. I simply don't see porsche in that picture. I see it on a track or on winding road giving everything it's got, what is different kind of fun. Lap times are not important, you can't measure the class Aston Martin got. I just couldn't buy porsche instead of it, just for that possibility to say "My Aston Martin".

  • @henryorsomething

    the porsche turbo s cabrio is one of the best performing convertibles out there and is a masterpiece on a track but its just a stretched beetle with added grunt and it looks no different to any of the other 911 variants. You'd be mad to have the turbo'd beetle over the beautiful v12 aston

  • @adzmorris

    Guys stop arguing over which is better. They're both excellent cars and I'm sure no one would knock either one back if offered a drive let alone ownership. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and when it comes to cars of this quality, the choice is subjective. No one is right or wrong when both cars are outstanding in almost every way. For me, I'd have to flip a coin, couldn't choose between these two, or can I have both? 911 for Saturday an the Aston for Sunday.

    Sorry but in this case I would opt for a 458 Spider over both the Turbo S and the Aston if I had the money. I love the Turbo S with it´s static roof, but as an open top I just can´t get to terms with the looks. The Aston Martin still looks great and sounds amazing, but the dash and the steering wheel has age to it even that it is high quality. IMO for an open top; the 458 Spider looks better than the Porsche, Looks as good as the Aston and sounds as good - Above that it is dynamically contemporary in all aspects (except fuel economy perhaps) and I would guess it delivers more thrill than both the Porsche and the Aston for a sunshine trip on a winding road.
