I think you’re wrong. I think they want a new smash Bros for the new system but it’s gonna take a very long time. The Nintendo president said development is gonna take very long and it’s extremely complicated so in the meantime, we’re going to get plus deluxe plus additions of switch games and y’all gonna buy them.
The problem with this leak/rumor is it’s already been confirmed that Nintendo’s been using a souped-up/modified version of Breath of the Wild to demo the Switch successor’s potential to game developers. Which leads me to think this isn’t referring to a new game but rather it’s just Nintendo’s internal reference for the BotW dev demo.
Would make sense considering what Nintendo did with the Wii U with New Super Mario Bros Mii
Not to mention releasing a remaster/remake on a game that is backwards compatible is a bad idea. Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story: Bowser Jr's Journey is a good example of this.

It's certainly not impossible. But she suggested it's an active project. Not a project from a year ago when they showed it. So it likely something they're working on to familiarize themselves with the hardware.

Tears of the Kingdom is actually in desperate need of a deluxe edition, there’s so much they could upgrade, new sky islands and depths biomes, new legendary weapons to collect, new enemies, bosses, dungeons, a hyrule restoration mission, and breath of the wild idk they could just add the minish or something because they were cut from it originally
Not a terrible idea, but they should wait at least several years. TOK, as good as it was, already felt like BOTW deluxe edition. Triple dipping into the same world so quickly (at a total cost of ~$200, holy hylia!) will infect it with Skyrim shill syndrome.

Okay, but let's be honest, Nintendo will not call it the "Switch Omega" for the sole reason it sounds too grown-up or adult-themed. If it's a successor as the rumors suggest, it's more likely to be called something like the "Switch Over" or something.

Upcoming Nintendo console is likely to bear the name NINTENDO OMEGA, a title reminiscent of its appearance as a fictional console in the WARIO WARE games. This title seems to harmonize with the speculative name "U-KING-O" CODENAME for an anticipated Nintendo game. "U-KING" symbolizes Breath of the Wild, "S" represents Switch, and "O" presumably indicates the forthcoming console. In this vein, envisioning a successor to the 3DS as Nintendo Omini could further solidify the company's product lineup.
If Nintendo releases the new console with enhanced versions of switch games, without exclusives, this new console will be a failure. I don’t think that will happen, but if they, instead of making new games, focus on making “deluxe” versions of switch games, this new console would have the same issues as the PS5 and Xbox Series S.
That will be enhance versions of switch games as well as new console exclusives for the new system but I don’t see the problem with Nintendo released in switch games for the new console smash Bros. Ultimate breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom.
Of course the new console will have exclusives, however they will most likely make "deluxe" version of Switch games too. They have a track record of releasing updated games on their newer hardware - regardless of how much of a jump the console has made. Take for instance, Link's Awakening on the original DMG Game Boy. It received a slight upgrade when they released the Game Boy Color with the release of Link's Awakening DX. I doubt the "Switch 2" will be a failure because of the occasional "deluxe" version of older games. In fact, I would personably be excited to see certain games get a little bump with extra content. Of course, these "deluxe" versions should only be supplemental to new releases - It should be kept in mind that a lot of Switch owners never got the chance to play Wii U titles as well.
The PS5 and X-Box Series S/X have a different problem than re-releasing updated versions of past games. Those consoles are being held back because Sony and Microsoft are making newer games that need to be cross-generational when the Xbox One and PS4 should have been moved on from by now.

I think it would be really cool if Switch 2 had a trophy system like the PlayStations because it is so satisfying to platinum a game. They could even have different trophies instead of bronze, silver, gold, and platinum.

Unfortunately I can see us not getting a proper Smash 6 this gen. That typically happens in situations where they don't entirely know what's next, it takes them a good decade or so to figure it out and the IP experiences a long drought. I could easily see them coasting on Ultimate for the Switch 2 and giving their younger devs to figure out what a Smash 6 without all of the characters and without Sakurai at the helm would look like.

So an upgraded breath of the wild chords that possibly runs at 4K 60, what's the weather going to be offering any other visual upgrades besides the resolution and frame rate bump, maybe pull a couple of reshade and RTGI code and implement some ray trackng.
Plot Twist: This is the souped-up, long awaited, _long rumoured_ port of Wind Waker/Twilight Princess. That will be released with Super Mario Open World.

If the next console is meant to be backwards compatible with the Switch games, I find it hard to believe that they'd go and make a full remastered version of it for the next console, unless the remastered graphics and gameplay are also available as a day one patch for preexisting games on the new console.
The only justifiable way I could see myself getting the game is if they put BotW and TotK onto one game, and included a throughline for the time gap between the games, a little small sidestory. I'd jump on board for that for sure.
I'm excited to see what's going to coming down the line first in games for the Nintendo Switch 2. But I do agree that rereleasing BOTW after a year of TOTK being out would be weird for the Nintendo Switch 2.

The big reason why Switch had so many deluxe versions of various Wii U titles has more to do with the previous platform not selling very combined with Switch not having the backwards compatibility with Wii U titles. The next gen Switch is different. It's both a follow up to their best selling system yet (Barring Nintendo DS in terms of copies) that is also their most financial hit yet. It also is all but confirmed to be backwards compatible with physical, digital and NSO games and rumored to being able to outright power up older titles. If there were truly deluxe versions of Smash Ultimate or Breath of the Wild, they'd probably be games that are free to purchase if you own the OG version whether physical or digital (But have to put in your system if former).
Launch title could either be the next 3D Mario game (Tentative title Super Mario Journey), Mario Kart 9, or Metroid Prime 4 (Which could be cross platform and/or a game that gets upgraded similar to the above but comes out later this year on Switch). The former two are easily more likely to be system sellers, but at the same time. Nintendo clearly wants Prime 4 to turn Metroid into a franchise almost as popular as Mario or Zelda as the first in the series to reach 8 digit number sales. While Dread was the best selling Metroid title thus far, the sales are still less than both Fire Emblem and Pikmin's best selling titles. Even Nintendo's more niche franchises that started out real obscure becoming quite hits, yet Metroid wasn't originally one of the "Niche" side of games at least not outside of Japan. But it's still not selling brilliantly compared to Nintendo's "Mainstays/Flagships".

I would be ohkay with a SSBU Deluxe. Since the “Switch 2” is more of a power house console, I feel like they can sell the game with all DLC included and announce a new DLC Pack. I feel like it could handle it.
But if it’ll mean the end of a possibility of a new SSB game then Idunno, I think I’d rather a new game honestly.
Also I feel like a smarter thing to do would be to include an update for the Switch games you’re trying to play on the “Switch 2” to just be played with better quality. If they want to kinda do a remake either include it in the update or sell it like a DLC for like 15 bucks. Or whatever merits the amount of changes they make.
If they are enhancing all their most populair games, it makes sense to start with botw en then use most of those assets to enhance totk

I mean probably I might get it or not since I haven’t played a Zelda game so maybe I could try it out but I hope that we do get some new games to come to Switch 2 like a new 3D Mario game, a new Mario Kart Game, a new Mario Party Game, a new Mario Sports Game, a new Donkey Kong game, a new Starfox game, a new Punch-Out game, and a new Kirby Game like a sequel for Kirby and the Forgotten Land where they have new worlds, new copy abilities and upgrades, and new playable characters like King Dedede, Meta Knight, Elfilin, and Clawroline which that would be cool to see. But I hope Switch 2 will give us some good games to play on it

Isn’t there a physical copy of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild that includes all Updates/Patches in Japan? I wish that version was released in the US, but maybe there is still a chance.
I have the greatest idea for a new Zelda game: Zelda gets killed by some gloom-like infection and becomes your companion as ghost, like in Spirit Tracks. She still has the dark magic attached to her as a spirit, so she gets both light AND dark powers. Ganon’s evil plan is basically nuking the kingdom, which he does at the very end, and the final battlefield is on the decimated Hyrule. On the timeline, it takes place before the TotK Imprisoning War, with the Zonai presumably rebuilding the kingdom after the destruction.
if nintendo do return to the same hyrule, they should make it in the time period leading up to the imprisoning war when Rauru was king.

Nintendo Orbital would be my bet on the name for the Switch successor if it starts with the letter O after all of the magnet talk revolving around the new joycons and the patents involving magnetic analog sticks that have 3D mouse-like functionality that is intended to easily manipulate 3D objects and spaces.

@@mmbiz.o There is plenty of smoke to that fire and it has been consistent. I don't state that as a fact but as the most likely outcome based on the evidence that has arisen. At the very least, Nintendo is very interested in playing with that concept at some point.

I'd totally understand if Nintendo re-released games with there DLC included however if they were to repackage a Switch game with better visuals, frame rate ect & didn't allow for people who already owned the game to upgrade to that version either it be free or $10 that would be a problem
But I fully believe if the next gen system is backwards compatible (which I believe it will be) & they do update certain games to fix things that are needed like frame rate, better online ect then I believe they would just charge $10 for those who have it already

if they're is no backwards compatability I am not getting it. My switch is broken and I just got Pikmin 4. This is probably just Nintendos take on the industry trend where you remaster games that does not need to be remastered. If the switch 2's lineup is mostly switch games, I would be dissapointed because that was pretty much the case for the switch. But the only reason they rereleased every wii u game is because no one had a wii u, so I doubt it.

I disagree with the smash detail. I think smash is going to have one of two things happen for the next game. One, it could be another smash ultimate with new characters, more DLC, and balance patches, which as a Smash Ultimate competitive player I'm totally OK with that and even encourage it. And Two, a complete reboot for the series, Smash Ultimate feels like a bookend to a great, great roster and game series by including every single fighter that has been in Smash beforehand and adding several new additions to the cast with grand introductions to each DLC character and each DLC character making each piece of the Smash community happy. A complete reboot with only 20-30 characters both new and old seems like a good way to go, it gives the series an opportunity to revamp older characters that have had the same moveset for over 10-20 years and bring in new characters from a newer generation of games. But to be completely honest like I said earlier, Smash Ultimate Deluxe, I don't see as a bad thing, not for fans, competitors nor especially for Sakurai. He has "retired" and this previous title put a lot of stress on him over the past 6 years, he wants Smash to keep going on, but can't see it being done by anyone but him as the executive developer. So until he finds a successor, I think a re-release would be good as long as it keeps being developed over another few years, so that Smash for the next generations can be even better.
I just hope that this Switch 2 will just have Backwards Compatibility because in my opinion that just seems easier to just put your Switch 1 games data onto the Switch 2 instead of having to buy the exact same game But it’s only exclusive to the Switch 2 and wouldn’t that make Backwards compatibility useless then because you’ll just be buying the exact same game But it’s only exclusive to the Switch 2?
