As an American, I wouldn't say Julie has a British accent, but I can definitely hear the British influence in her pronunciation in a addition to the vocabulary!
I am surprised she has held on to her American “accent” so well after so many years. Most of the time, people start speaking like those around them rather quickly.
I live in delco outside Philly, n if I hang around alot of people from diff states, even for a few weeks, I do it too. If I was in England, I'd be saying ello govna in no time, innit bruv. Lol
I've seen you Mentioned in quite a few videos lately!! I'm a history "FREAK" LIKE WAY BEYOND OBSESSED WITH ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING HISTORY AND SCIENCE!! SO I KINDA DO HISTORY/SCIENCE MARATHONS ON THE WEEKENDS AND DAYS OFF; I WAS WATCHING AOME VIDEOS ON CERTAIN TH-cam "HISTORY/ROYAL" CHANNELS AND YOUR FAMILY AND YOU HAVE BEEN EITHER MENTIONED OR SHOWED!! LOVE IT ❤❤❤❤
You guys crack me up, love the way you play off each other. I am blessed to have a good marriage and there are so many similarities to your banter as there is to ours. It is nice to see a happy, respectful couple having a good time with each other!
Julie’s America accent has truly evolved. She definitely pronounces her words much more clearly and has adopted more British words in her vocabulary. Yes a slight British accent is creeping into some of her words!! It is lovely.!! I appreciate it very much! North American English has sadly fallen into the basement🇨🇦.
Regarding Julie's accent. In 1975 friends and I visited Great Falls in Montana and met a GI bride. We were the first Brits she'd met since moving to the USA after WW2. To us, she sounded American. To her family she still sounded British.
These clothes are just my style. But first of all, I live in central Florida and could only wear them approx. 4 months of the year. Second of all, Julie is so tall and slim and thus looks much better in them than I would.
The clothes are so you, Julie. Perfect sponsor for you.You can see the quality, even on video! You and Luke's banter is always funny.Yes, you do have British inflections in your accent and it's especially apparent when you say "brilliant" and actually",which you say a lot.Coming from Kenya, you must feel colder than usual. At least you have some new warm, cozy sweaters now!
It’s 5am here in NSW 🇦🇺, got up at 2.30am to watch Manchester United play Leicester, what a depressing game and I’ll seen that you guys were on and brighten up my morning wonderful history thank you.
I've considered buying one myself that says in huge letters across the from "Yes, I'm cold" and an arrow points to the small words on the side "me, 24/7"
Julie and Luke seem to like talking over each other, in a very comical manner! Julie does not do this when visiting other houses and estates, or with her Father and Mother in law! She becomes exasperated with Luke, and in such a manner that one cannot help laughing at them both! To me, thus makes the episodes so much easier to watch, and ensures that every new episode is looked forward to and enjoyed. Thankyou Julie and Luke.
From one American to another, Julie does have a few words that she clearly pronounces in the British fashion. Over 20 years on the other side of the pond are beginning to show:)
Listening to Julie speak, really makes me question Madonna's "accent." Julie being from Illinois and Madonna (and myself) from Michigan, I hear both the Midwest/Northeast aspects and Julie's hint of British accent.
Julie you don't have a British accent that l detect but being from the Midwest, perhaps some of that wonderful Midwestern pronunciation rises up occasionally. Just so glad you are representing the affection so many of us from America have for our British friends and families and the fun and, yes, joy most of us have as we look at differences in language and culture and learn more about history of and current life in the UK. Hurrah for you two.
Oh my! I would love to go snooping in an ancient storage unit😉 I did notice something right as you guys were going up the stairs. On the front of I think each stall, there were these star rings. If by chance y'all aren't going to be using those.. would you consider selling them to one of your Patreons? My nickname is Moon and I've always loved things with moons and stars😉
Well then, never thought I'd enjoy a fashion show. And no, Julie does not sound British, she just uses words in a British context. Thanks for the wonderful videos.
Looks like B & B sent you their entire Women’s catalogue! Lucky Julie! Thanks for the trip down “storage lane” … I hope you can get the stable bloc cleaned out and a grant for repairs. It’s an awesome building. Cheers!
My Granddaughters are just into their teens and they always love to put on a fashion show after a big shop. Such fun. Julie’s new clothes look terrific on her. Perfect for the country life.
OMG!!! The fashion show was hysterical!! Love the sweaters and shirts, very classic. I love to organize but definitely get overwhelmed with piles of stuff. Good luck Julie on the “great Mapperton clean out 2022!” 🙏👍🏻😉
Curious to know what other three hundred year old objests you will find that you want to restore. Loved the fashion show! It was like receiving a ton of Christmas present!
I am enjoying The Chronicles Of Mapperton enormously. It's nice to see Luke and Julie's vim and vigour. They really are enmeshed as a couple and seem to managed their differences with good humour. It's just such a great example of good and kindly folk living life to the full. Julie is a scream - really funny at times. Her energy is boundless. I don't envy the huge responsibility but admire their neck in taking it on. Thanks guys for sharing the journey xx
Loved this video. Julie looks fantastic in those clothes and much warmer lol. 16c is a bit on the cool side but it does serve it's purpose with preservation I suppose. My thermostat is set to 20c in the winter in here in Canada. Ah the junk room - 300 years from now some of that "stuff" could be someone else's treasure like the chairs up there.. wonder what else you will find? I set up a storage with lockers inside for family members. There was also a common area for storing big stuff and for sorting. There were also lockers for storing seasonal decorations.. I miss having that. each locker had 3 rows of shelving 3 feet apart and were 6 feet deep sort of like a stable pen each one locked and had adequate air flow. We had the shelves closer at first but it made putting bins in harder so we widened rows - most plastic bins are about 2 1/2 feet long that leaves 6 inches to wiggle it on/off a shelf ;) You could even rent out a storage cage to vendors or events when they need to bring stuff early or pick up late. wedding gear etc. Can't wait to see what you do with the space.
Treasures! Love to go into attics and find items to put out for all to see! Like a live museum that’s a wonderful idea 💡 and offices. It is hard to let go of things you accumulate over time. I’m that way. But it’s all in the family still with your daughter.
Funny, Luke, the clothes catcher at the fashion show. I hope you are able to acquire the funds to restore the outbuilding. That looks like a beautiful building to add on to the available indoor space on the estate.
I feel your angst Julie and Luke! I had a house once that was full w 3 generations of stuff. The best thing that ever happened to me was having to leave most of it behind. I lived out of a suitcase for a few yrs whilst traveling Central and South America 2015-2018. Those jumpers are smart! As it barely cools down to 20C here in Mexico where I currently reside, I almost felt a hot flash coming on when you were modeling 😂 You two crack me up! I hope it is not always such a challenge getting a word in edge wise Julie. Even if you do, I get the feeling that Luke my hear you but he doesn't really listen. Bless you and your patience.
To clear out the barn?... A big ole BARN Sale... where 3/4th of the items are just free! Put out flyers in the summer, when the public visits anyway. Once the crowd arrives, I think you'll be surprised how quickly word gets out, items find a new home and you eventually have the barn cleared - at no cost to you, sans the flyers. 😁 👏
Lol! Things get turn up in my house, too! You clean things out, and before you know it, it's completely cluttered again! 😆 I love your mugs! Your flooring reminds me of my parents attic and steps! Love how you kept your kids' things!!!! Sweet! Lovely fireplace! I'm just like you Julie! Since my husband is from Calgary, I'm Always cold! 😆 That's great to get free clothes!!! Wonderful video!
Very lovely sweaters and shirts. Lovely fire. I can't handle the cold very well. I would be drinking hot chocolate and coffee for ever just to warm up.
As I was watching this and laughing I was imagining how much my husband would love this much space to keep more junk. I love how you have kept your kids things.
The runway scene is soooo funny, you two!!!! 😃😃 I used to wait for one of you to start getting irritated by the other but I was wrong.... You compliment one another... Different mind directions but complimentary.... Love you both! Hope you stay together till you join the ghosts of Mapperton till eternity!! God bless.
At the very end of this video I heard you mention Priory Bay in Bembridge ...one of my favourite places in the world ..I lived for many years close by on the Island and though I now live back in the North I still visit when I can ..next time Mapperton is top of my list to visit.

I love how Julie just gives away his old memories and stuff :D it's great - create new ones together!
As an American, I wouldn't say Julie has a British accent, but I can definitely hear the British influence in her pronunciation in a addition to the vocabulary!
She certainly acts the American out of America very well
I agree. Certain vowels have shifted for her. She still sounds American writ large, but with odd Britishisms sprinkled in for good measure. 🙃
Lol

Julie’s little fashion show segment has me dead!!! 😂🙌🏻 Sooo good! Honestly the only ads I genuinely enjoy watching!
"You're not listening." "I'm not listening, no." 🤭 I love the honesty. When Julie tosses sweaters/jumpers on her husband's face! 😂
You guys crack me up, love the way you play off each other. I am blessed to have a good marriage and there are so many similarities to your banter as there is to ours. It is nice to see a happy, respectful couple having a good time with each other!
😊 thank you
omg that headboard in the attic! rattan lovliness
You two are hysterically funny and you don’t even realize it. Great choice of clothing😁
Julie is such a mother in this video. Her reliving her kid's moments is so sweet.
Julie you need a old fashion Mapperton yard sale😂 Love old buildings and curious to see what they hold. Love the new clothes Julie.
Omg garage/tag sale at Mapperton
@@mytobytobster Great idea but in Britain it's a jumble sale, isn't it?
Regarding Julie's accent. In 1975 friends and I visited Great Falls in Montana and met a GI bride. We were the first Brits she'd met since moving to the USA after WW2. To us, she sounded American. To her family she still sounded British.
Will be interesting to see what treasures you guys find as you go through storage. Best wishes to the daughter on setting up her own place!
Julie’s family is so wonderful! Enjoy your life. So exciting!
I cannot believe I actually made one of the live programs. 🥳 Love your clothing Julie. Luke you have good taste.
So enjoyed the fashion show! Beautiful clothes from Beaufort and Blake!!
Thanks so much!!
These clothes are just my style. But first of all, I live in central Florida and could only wear them approx. 4 months of the year. Second of all, Julie is so tall and slim and thus looks much better in them than I would.
Hilarious I love watching when Julie and Luke are together.
The fashion show was a brilliant way to showcase a sponsor!
LOVE the idea of the refurb with Grant $$$: Go for it! We would LOVE to watch that process👍❤️
The clothes are so you, Julie. Perfect sponsor for you.You can see the quality, even on video! when you guys do merch. i think a tee shirt with ' its so cold in the house' should be considered... ;)
LOVED the fashion show
I've considered buying one myself that says in huge letters across the from "Yes, I'm cold" and an arrow points to the small words on the side "me, 24/7"
Or: “You’re not listening.” 🤣
Julie and Luke seem to like talking over each other, in a very comical manner! Julie does not do this when visiting other houses and estates, or with her Father and Mother in law! Honestly find the 'talking over' irritating.....it is funny though when Julie reacts!!
Love the interaction between you guys, very entertaining
From one American to another, Julie does have a few words that she clearly pronounces in the British fashion. Over 20 years on the other side of the pond are beginning to show:)

Great job, Luke! All those warm clothes are wonderful for Julie!
luke is extremely smart well done tour and product placement, Luke and julie you two are an awesome duo.
Thanks so much!
He’s right, not JUST certain words, it slips out occasionally, super cute. 😁
The runway show was hilarious, thank u guys I needed it today.
Super cute! That stripe sweater is so Julie and love that last one!
I just love you two, what a great relationship.
Enjoy the two of you together!❤️
you look great in all of the tops. They mix and match will together.
Great spring cloths for the English weather.

Luke and Julie are such a cute couple. I love how really these videos are. And you two clearly know and love each other deeply.
The ending was so cute!!! I hope you get the grant to update the north stable block🤗
Please let the viewers know if it happens. How many grade one listed structures are there at Mapperton?
The mexican mariachi sombreros ☺️ hello from México 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽

I love all those beautiful shirts and sweaters (or jumpers); very neutral colors. They're gorgeous!!!
Thank you!
You’re almost to 100k subs. I was one of your original subscribers back when Julie was giving tours around the house live. Congratulations!!🎈
The style show at the end where you are throwing the sweaters on top of Luke was a hoot!!! Humorous video....thanks!
Periwinkle is your color. Love it

Luke & Julie communicate just like his Parents! Very Funny ❤️
These stables are so well built! Just fantastic. I find the color of the wood to be so beautiful.
The patina is a bit too rustic for me if one is going to do any living in there.
Like your plans for the stalls in the old barn. Can't wait to see them come to fruition. Juliecthe sweaters(jumpers) were lovely. Enjoy them.

I’m American, Julie you definitely have been spending lots of time in England from the sound of it
I love every outfit on Julie! So exciting!

That storeroom looks like my house generally!
Gorgeous building 😍 LOL the fashion show 😂
You two are hilarious together. How lovely to watch you interact with friendship, chaos and love. So much fun.
I feel your angst Julie and Luke! I had a house once that was full w 3 generations of stuff. The best thing that ever happened to me was having to leave most of it behind. I lived out of a suitcase for a few yrs whilst traveling Central and South America 2015-2018.

I can hear a British accent coming through when Julie says words like literally, all, London, Alberta, actually, always, and a few others.
I notice it particularly when she says "Alberta" with the hard "t" sound. Same thing with "winter"
To clear out the barn?...

Great video and love the new clothes from your new sponsor and you getting close to 100k subscribers !! ❤️
You two are so funny! Loved the fashion show Julie - great splurge and they ALL look great on you too. Great picking Mr Mapperton!
Thanks so much!
Haha, Hahaha. You Two remind me of my parents with the "well she can have it" talking about the stuff your daughter is taking.
Lol! Things get turn up in my house, too! You clean things out, and before you know it, it's completely cluttered again! 😆 I love your mugs! Your flooring reminds me of my parents attic and steps! OMG! The clothes look fantastic on you. 😄
I enjoy watching the two of you. The banter is hilarious. ❤️🥂
Wallpaper was very pretty.
Julie is sounding like Hyacinth, "Mind the Bars Richard."
Very lovely sweaters and shirts. Lovely fire. I can't handle the cold very well. I would be drinking hot chocolate and coffee for ever just to warm up.
Thanks so much!
Terrific fashion show! Another awesome video! Love from Vermont
So funny. He walks and talks and she doesn't walk or listen. Love you both.
Biltmore Estates made a gorgeous restaurant out of their stables.
I appreciate the renovations and upkeep and the professional showcase ...
As I was watching this and laughing I was imagining how much my husband would love this much space to keep more junk. I love how you have kept your kids things.
A never ending smorgasbord of wonderful historical treasures to see and share with us! Thank you!
The runway scene is soooo funny, you two!!!! 😃😃 I used to wait for one of you to start getting irritated by the other but I was wrong.... You compliment one another... I’m so proud to see a fellow American who has such love for her husband and respect for the history of his family.
Love…love..love the Beaufort & Blake brand!! Gratitude for sharing!!!
