If this is a pass then you DEFINITELY need to say the same about the Pixel 4 as this phone has EVERYTHING and more than the pixel 4. Including it's 4000 MAH battery.

Yep... He missed at least half of the features this phone offers... LG pioneered the wide screen camera on its G5 now all others copy it and he poo poos the camera as average....
Specs are great but 4000 mah isnt huge any more. All phones have it and it's not enough to last more than a few hours. I cant imagine how fast it drains powering 2 screens. I want the phone and after reading your comment I dont think I'll watch the video, but 4000 mah is definitely not enough.

The notch is there because the panels are from the same assembly line to maintain size/color consistency.
Hmm, I guess that might make sense - though LG themselves told me it was just about symmetry. I also personally feel like the colours aren't quite the same between them, but that may all be in my head... - Dom
yea it would have cost to much to make a whole nother assembly line for notchless second screens, and the consistency would have been off, this way the only difference is power, because the main phone screen will get more power.
They used the same screen... The V50 used 2 diff screens on 2 diff lines... The colour diffs were noticeable as well as 2 diff size screens... Head to head G8x is best bang for the buck as well as far better multi tasking as well as more durable for HALF the price.... You can keep your snowflake 2000 dollar status toy.... I will choose a durable hard working/playing phone 1st time every time
Plus you failed to menton all the extra camera features that make use of the 2nd screen i estimate you have missed HALF of the features offers....
Why is everyone so fixated on the bulkiness of a phone? I mean the thinner a phone I have, the more anxiety i experience that I MIGHT break it. I don't mind bulk. It feels like a tougher, more durable phone IF you ask me.

I agree. I use a Otterbox with my Note 9 because it's too damn thin. Manufacturers need to stop listening to these tech channels and just make a thicker phone so we can get better specs and a bigger battery.

Underrated phone
I just bought this LG phone coming from the s8.. I always wait for the right deal to get come out before I upgrade.. I have never purchased anything besides Samsung galaxy phones and was looking to upgrade to the note 10..it was a sprint representative that told me about this Lg phone and ultimately convinced me to jump the Samsung bandwagon... I will tell you, this Lg g8x is a much better phone. I am really enjoying it. The only thing I don't like so far is the market is slim on accessories like cases and screen protectors. I highly recommend the jump though. You will be amazed at the performance, zero lag, beautiful camera, the selfie picture is awesome. I am waiting on my dual screen to arrive in the mail, which was free with the purchase. But even without it I recommend it.
I did the same thing. I had the S8+ and was waiting to upgrade to the S11+ but came across the LGX Dual screen. I am waiting for the dual screen to arrive and looking forward to using it.
Just got mine yesterday. The best phone I’ve ever touched and I had a 11plus my dad likes it better then his new Samsung.
How is picture and video quality? We have been with Sprint for 12 years and we have had every galaxy phone since they started. I was sceptical to do this phone but they should be here in 2 days and im hoping the image quality is comparable with galaxys.....We got a fantastic price for 2. $275 each plus a $200 gift card each... so we paid $150 for 2 of these....
@@a1machinista1 lg g8x back camera is the same as the galexy note 10. The front camera seems superior to any other phone. I just switched from my iphone x to this from sorint. Enjoy the phone! Dont exlect your case and 200 dollars to ship until 12 weeks

I liked your entire review, but when you said, "you don't want this phone if you don't want dual screen." I mean why??? It is a flagship phone for 699. I don't understand.
He's foolish but it's his review I guess. phone can be used perfect as a non dual screen and if you want to do screen you attach the case and keep it permanently or keep it occasionally

The thinq single phone is same price but has upgraded display to QHD, not 1080p. The single thinq has a superior screen, so lots of people go with that if they don't want the dial screen. Maybe that's what he was getting at haha
I have been watching few videos on this phone and just realized the duel screen is like extra monitor like in desktop

Yes LG say the panel’s are the same...hence the second notch.
So the reason the front camera is higher quality is that if you use the dual-screen you will cover the back camera thus the front camera is now the main camera cause you can use the dual-screen to use the camera functions.
All phones need a case like this.
I'm 6'4 275 lbs, not fat just a big guy.. I have HUGE hands so bulky is amazing for me ... My smaller galaxy phones have always been hard to hold onto and i fumble them often this thing fits solidly in my hand and I feel more confident when handling it.

It's a great phone in and of itself! Fantastic set up, he's clearly not gotten it wrong and that's a shame. Watch practically every other review and there are nothing but praises for this phone.

I think it has a better feature set than the like sized iphone 11 MAX, and Samsung Note 10.
Without the second screen.
It lacks the pen functionality and brighter OLED, and telephoto lens of the note, and has less standard ram and storage, and the faster processor and telephoto and face id of the iphone 11
But even without the case attachment, it's notch is about the same size as samsung's "NOLE", but it has an sd card slot, and a headphone jack and flush cameras, and the same processor under neath.
Over the iPhone it has double the storage and 2GB more ram, an sd card slot for more storage, quad dac and amp, the highest quality bluetooth codecs, LDAC< APTXHD< and MQA codecs, and a quad dac and amp, and flush rear cameras.
So even without the dual screen attachment, it is a much better value then both in features, if you dont mind using manual modes it 's camera is just as good, but in automode, Google and apple and samsung have better automatic you do nothing modes.
.I am glad they kept the quad dac, headphone jack, and sd card, most oled phones do not have those any more, and it is waterproof unlike one plus phones.
for $700 it is like the deal of the century, really putting the Samsung S10 and iPhone 11 Max to shame in the value department although those do beat it in some ways like pen, face is.
however if you consider the 2 screens together it has double the resolution and screen area of both, when you need it and about the same when you do not at 6.4 OLED, (slightly less bright), plus has an sd card and headphone jack, but less ram and storage than the Samsung Note 10, but mote than the iPhone 11 MAX, it also does not have a 2X telephoto, but has a better 32GB selfie cam.
So it's all in what you value most.

Almost two years In battery going strong, but I will order a spare or two kits
It also has gotten two is updates on TMobile surprising everyone.
I do wish more pro audio and video apps and games supported dual screen nodes, although there is a hack for that.
New it has kept its value well refurb and used about like the iPhone and note if it's far
Remember it launched at $699, in some cases that includes the cases, the dual screen ase has actually increased in value
iPhone and Samsung had much higher prices so they dropped more in the used and refurb with out warranty pricea
How do i use one app on both screens???
It's a 4*8 mega pixel splice, the notch I assume is because it's the same panel? (cheaper production). Korean 5g versions have up to 8gb and 256gb. Is the whale browser not available on Google play? I hope so, chrome works in wide mode too. I think the v50 hinge stopped in 3 places. Great unboxing though👍.
It's the same panel and that isn't to cut costs. It's because if they were different panels they would have slight differences in color and lighting. They learned that from the V50, which had the issue of the two displays having different colors.

to those saying the notch is because they are the same display and not for symmetry... first would you like the phone to be even more expensive? cause if they made another display for the second display it would be. Secondly there would be a whole other group complaining the displays aren't symmetrical.
This is the 3 dual screen phone that LG brought out.. the first one was almost 15 years ago.. it was a great phone

I'm curious to know if there are installed applications for drawing or taking notes with a stylus or the finger. I was about to go for a Note 10 plus but the concept of this LG phone is very interesting.
He seems to not know what he's on about with this phone half the time but
As an LG user, their excellent memo and capture + apps do allow drawing and writing with finger, and generically compatible stylus, however the LG stylus focused line is actually a lower end line, their v series camera focused phones are their higher end like the note is for samsung
Also, do NOT get a note 10 of any kind. The note 10 are a disgrace to the note series. The entire purpose of the note is to be the 'all the things' phone, the machine with EVERY feature. The note 10 ditching the headphone jack is a disgrace to that concept and purpose. The fully featured do it all phone cannot REMOVE features present in the previous gen of that line and the current gen of the Lower-end line. Unacceptable
I know the 2020 lg v60 and velvet both support wacom bamboo ink v2. I have it for my v60 and it unlocks new features amd apps and i know my phone came prebaked with 4 note takin apps. All cool in their own way too. 2 of em u can launch from the lock screen just like the note series and nebo for LG is cool af and lets u do some interesting things. The stylua support makes my phone an everything phone fr
What is the difference between LG G8X and LG V50s? Which one is better?
Bruh I been went LG phones for as long as I can remember.. G3 I had two G3 phones cuz my first one malfunctioned.. I had three G5 phones cuz I broke my first and second and now I'm at the g8x dual screen.. I love the LG G-PHONES

Can you turn off the dual display and the front notification still work? Wondering for battery life and if you answer the phone and flip the front all the way back, so you won't accidentally open app while talking on the phone?

Hello I really enjoyed your video and I have a quick question I have the LG V50 that I just recently got from Verizon Wireless and I was so sad to learn that the dual-screen was only available in Europe but watching your video I see now there's another dual screen for the LG G8 X that uses the C-USB port to connect instead of the three pins on the bottom back so if I am not mistaking both phones are about the same size so is it possible for me to connect my LG V50 to the dual screen on the LG G8X using the C-USB port because both phones are the same size and same brand and both phones use dual screens so is it possible to switch the deuce screams so that I may be able to use a dual screen on my LG V50 from Verizon Wireless here in the United States so if you or anyone else can please help me with this question I would really appreciate it very much and thank you so much again sincerely Blair Fox Love!*
Dont do that. It won't work. Each DS case is designed only for the phone it was made for. I have the v60 and it def says case will not work with any other LG model phone
OMG! I want a case like that made for my Note 10 Plus. Although Samsung would charge $1000.00 for the case unlike LG who is sending it to you for free with proof of purchase / lease.

This is a great phone without another display too . considering audiophile grade dac,that alone is enough for me.build and specs are excellent for price and I dont think there is a reason not to like this phone even without extra display at this price.

No sign of it yet in the UK. I wouldn't get your hopes up too much for a release either, we don't get much LG stuff now - I think the only reason the V50 made it was because carriers were desperate for 5G phones. LG just doesn't sell much here any more - Dom

I have watched several videos now, what is missing from all of them is the answer to what I think is a very good question lol... What if you drop the phone? Obviously you can't use an OtterBox, so how well does the dual screen case actually protect the phone?

The Sprint deal is you get the phone $100 gift card and the screen is free. Have the store clerk do it 4 u. They ll order the free screen 4 u. U have to take a pic of your recipt

I love this phone. I use it for everything. Now the dual screen closed. I wish they gave you options on the screen to look at text or something. Instead of opening the phone

@@karannagvekar2929 okay so pic quality good. Batterylife not bad. I will say i RARELY use the dual screen unless im playing in an online gaming tournament and need twitch and discord up. I have to say i dont think the phone was for me or atleast i have yet to fully benefit from the purchase

But I have gotten use it I don't have the dual screen yet it's being delivered to me it should arrive a day before Christmas so that's good
But like I've said I have gotten to use it, it is a slippery phone due to the glass so make sure you get a case for it if you don't plane on destroying the duel case which I have to go school so I have to use a case
But anyhow the phone feels nice its not to big and not to small
it seems to fit just right the screen looks pretty good it comes with surround sound 3dx which just turns on the ear peace and turns it into a secondary speaker at first use you might think theirs something wrong with it but no their isn't I just takes some getting use to
But I would warn on that silppery glass it is the most slippery phone I've ever holded mostly because simply holding it out on your hand it would begin to silp so ya be careful with this one but ya first impressions for me it's pretty good

LG give customers real world daul screen/ fold device for under 1k " they are weird" Samsung give customers impracticable folding device prone to break for over 2k " they are ground breaking" lol

First honest review in regrades to the Lg G8x without the dual screen, without the dual screen this phone is a pass. I don't understand why in the comment people comparing the G8X to the iPhone 11 MAX and note 10. I'm more concerned with LG support or lack of. Great unboxing and review.
The lg g8 has a headphone jack, military resistant body, manual video controls, and an expandable memory. Neither the iPhone nor Galaxy have those things. And it's cheaper.

You made yourself look like a fool. The screens aren't even different in quality you're just bsing. Maybe the colors look diff because oh I dunno YOU SAID NAH I'LL DO THE FIRMWARE UPDATE LATER? the whole reason there's a notch is because they used literally the exact same damn screen on both to ENSURE it would look the same no matter which screen you're using.

unfortunately for LG I think like the G5 this is going to be another failed gimmick. Not to say its not a good idea, I just think the niche is too small. That said I hope the magnetic charge port catches one... I work in a dusty environment, and I had the issue with my G6 where my charge port got clogged up, which caused me to switch to Samsung to get a good case with a port cover
