      Depends On dual screen n on use also. Like while on utube videos at 1080p i had approx 3% loss for 30mins. But i am using in wifi. While working on powerdirector with 4K video of 9GB in widescreen mode (using powerdirector on both screen) size it drained 30% in 2hrs. Which i think is pretty good considering the processing n editing process

    The idea of the dual screen from the previous iteration already got me interested, but your review is really selling this idea damn well, especially with the improvements. My current phone is still usable, so I don't think I'll be upgrading it anytime soon, but if LG keeps improving on this dual screen lineup I'll definitely be keen to buy one in the future.
    I had the LG G Pro from a while back before the screen failed me one year into using it, but it was a great experience using it. This review is definitely helping to put LG back in my radar, especially with the Galaxy fold announced to be priced at SGD$3088 in Singapore here. I can see way more functionality with the LG approach, and it's at a much cheaper price.

      it will increase the thickness and weight of the device if an extra battery is added. making it too heavy to carry also.

    • @bosenngantor9160
      @bosenngantor9160 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that will basically going to increased the thickness by a lot. I mean, the current second display not having battery so LG can make the case slimmer, on the otherhand, Samsung galaxy fold has battery on both part of the phone (the top screen on bottom screen) so it looks more like two phone stacked together make it looks quite bulkier. I think the bigger size on the phone battery in the next generation is better, maybe 5000mah, that would be great

    • @AnantMall

    At $1000, no competition.
    I did like having secure face id and fingerprint scanner on the same phone, and the back finger print scanner was the best and faster than the on screen one, and does not require you to look.
    The G8 was also the first with crystal speaker, which was great in noisy environments on phone calls.
    The G8 at 3120X1440 and 6.1" was also the highest ppi in the industry aside from the Sony Xperia 4K 1.
    I love they still have the quad dac amp and headphone jack and sd card.
    Their biggest weakness is software updates, and heavy skin.

    Navigation on one, Spotify on the other etc.
    it would out perform most car infotainment systems,
    I mean you can angle the screen, you have the best wireless and wired auido and codecs, two oled screens, sd card, car cameras front and rear for car vlogging, headphone jack for aux in, or usbc out, wireless charging.

    I bought the LG V20 after your recommendation and then I bought the V30 (current daily driver) and loved both phones. Each LG phone seems to be getting better and really appreciate LG's innovation (moving buttons to back, wide angle camera, Quad DAC), going against the grain (keeping the headphone jack), and LISTENING TO CUSTOMERS. I have to continue to support LG for these reasons... Plus, they make really good phones, OLED TVs and washing machines/fridges.. LG isn't perfect, but they've been steadily improving again and respect them for taking chances (modular LG G5). Well done LG and excellent vid!

    Fully appreciate how your reviews are practical and opinions are based on the actual phone instead of comparing apples to oranges. And you're the only reviewer who explained why the second screen has a notch. Others just scoff at it and just shows the laziness in their homework. This phone checks all boxes: chip, gpu, screen, water resistance, ram, sd slot, headphone jack, battery and wireless charging. My only gripe is Android 9 instead of Android 10. I've owned LG's since the LG G 3 and their OS updates are garbage. You and Flossy Carter are my faves!

    Left Samsung years ago. Lg has had many phones that were unique and practical. However, there are some discomforts with being different. My G4 curve was nice to hold but made the phone thick for things like gimbles and VR headsets. And it did roll a bit when on its back. But I love the phone. My V30+ is close to perfect. Lease was up and went to G8x. I know there will be issues with that second screen but it is detachable. Just got mine today and Im looking forward to using this phone. Although, with sprint the offer for the free screen is completed by lg and there's up to a 6 week wait in some cases. Again, the phone works fine without it.

    Of all the things I think I can only stick to it for the UI. I currently have the G8 but I guess they will not push those clean UI updates.

    I was hyped to buy this phone but... No android 10, no SDM 855+ and it's not a QHD display. Guess I'll stick to my G7 a little longer. Disappointment but still love LG.

    Nice LG G8X Dual Screen, it is more practical and less expensive then the Samsung dual screen. True Apple is a stubborn company because they have never included a SD card slot in their IPhones.

The future is here. Don't get left behind folks. Samsung is NOT the only game-changer in town. Be bless. Be U.

    Hello I really enjoyed your video and I have a quick question I have the LG V50 that I just recently got from Verizon Wireless and I was so sad to learn that the dual-screen was only available in Europe but watching your video I see now there's another dual screen for the LG G8 X that uses the C-USB port to connect instead of the three pins on the bottom back so if I am not mistaking both phones are about the same size so is it possible for me to connect my LG V50 to the dual screen on the LG G8X using the C-USB port because both phones are the same size and same brand and both phones use dual screens so is it possible to switch the deuce screams so that I may be able to use a dual screen on my LG V50 from Verizon Wireless here in the United States so if you or anyone else can please help me with this question I would really appreciate it very much and thank you so much again sincerely Blair Fox Love!*

      Hi, no sorry the v50 will not be able to connect to the G8X dual screen. They are exclusive tech. Sorry.

    I like it. Except the notch and they should of designed the hinge so there is less space between screens.

    Price on AT&T $780 and you get the dual screen included at this price.

    LG decided to sell the V50 WITHOUT the dual display accessory in the US - in fact the US version doesn’t even have the pins on the back, so one cannot import and use the display at all. It’s amazing the LG would sell the V50 without one of the few selling points for it over other devices like the Samsung S10.
    Maybe this time around LG will try to sell the G8X dual display without the phone instead, just for a laugh.

      @bensgadgetreviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's very shortsighted on their end to sell the V50 as a standalone phone.

      2011Kestrel I think that's why they re-released this variant. The V50 spec wise is a little better but this will sell.. especially for the price.

      I know it's not realistic but it would be nice if this new software was able to be done through a Play Store update as opposed to a systemwide update knowing LG's track record with that. I need that new UI on my G8

    If you only want extra screen for typing fxtec pro1 is even better option, it has a real keyboard. This seems definitely a better idea than folding screens tho.

    I'm stuck between buying the Moto one action and Vivo z1 pro. Both of them have great performance for the price, but Vivo beats Moto in every other way, except that it has a micro USB port and a heavily skinned os. The micro usb dosent bother me as much because it still charges much faster than the one action. Funtouch OS though, I passionately hate it. Can someone give me some insight as to which phone is better? (I mean, z1 pro is obviously "better", it's hole punch is like 1/3rd the size of one action's hole punch, much bigger battery, much faster charging, I'm talking about the software and the disadvantages of micro usb).

    I had to stop the video for a moment to holler in triumph at 6:47. The lack of tablet mode was a deal breaker for me with the V50. But now, LG just brought over a convert from Samsung...

      @@XeroBuster No problem. That would be my main use case for tablet mode on a mobile device anyway. Plus the supporting and supported software is only going to mature in development over time.

    Quad HD is nice but it comes with a price, battery life. 1080p+ is good enough, I agree. Most things you view aren't above 1080 anyway.

    This is an interesting setup, but I would be a lot more interested if LG used the triple-camera G8 as the basis for this device rather than the dual camera one.
