LG’s second iteration on its dual-screen concept. How is the G8X Dual Screen better than the V50 Dual Screen? Are the tweaks significant? And have they made the phone better?
LG's answer to foldable phones is a phone with two screens! Well sorta. The LG G8X ThinQ comes with a Dual Screen case and it's a pretty fantastic idea. Two screens on one phone is like smartphone multitasking on steroids!

Lg is finally moving forward. What they need is a decent marketing strategy.
100% agree this is the main problem of lg & Sony
LG has always been moving forward ahead of everyone. They were the first to have multiple cameras and dual screens years ago, and IIRC were likely the first to standardize RAW image and video options in the camera, among other really cool niche options (like a HiFi DAC in the V20).
They do need to better their marketing strategy for sure though.
Unfortunately, the bad marketing strategy is probably how we can get rhe phone AND the attachable screen for $700.
They have their own TH-cam channel videos out now so there is that. They don't do national TV ad campaigns until after a month of a full release. We might start seeing ads for it in Dec.
@@BeefGummybears This phone was only announced in September at IFA 2019. No OEM does marketing prior to an unveiling. Thy get the leaks out but marketing ads comes after the full release date well after the preorders are done and are fully available.
How many times LG does things first. Hope they get back here in the Philippines ❤️

I kind of thought at the beginning I would have to agree here. Right now there are no custom fit hybrid cases with a belt clips available right now. With the LG8X dual screen in it's case it doesn't make sense to have the headphone jack on this phone. It's not useful in a leather universal case that holds both screens. Unless your willing to cut a open hole in it. Which ion this case it's going to look ruined on your hip out in public when not using the headphone jack. I'm joining the Bluetooth Full Wireless Earbud club next month. Now more cases might be available in the next few months but LG needs to really increase the popularity for this phone so accessory market will increase for the demand for cases that have belt clips.
Scott Ivlow this is the dumbest complain ever. The DAC is for people that was audiophile quality music which you’ll never get from Bluetooth. Leave the Jack alone we all love it.

Yes, LG was always the pioneeer in mobile tech,they have the most patents of any other phone brand.They often innovate and risk way to much in sales terms.
This is innovation, what makes this great that's the fact this just an accessory, just like a case.. good job LG

What some don't realize is the LG leaves no crease, unlike the Samsung Fold and seems more durable. Also with the Galaxy Fold, if you drop it, its entirely gone, whereas with LG you can replace the other half (hopefully only one side gets the blunt!)

This is a good video and one of many I watched from IFA 2019 from other reviewers that got use it got to use the LG G8X. When I first heard about it this new device I had to have one. So in late November I bought mine from AT&T and I love it, both the phone and the dual screen. It's just a great phone over all. I got my Dual Screen included with the phone purchased on the AT&T Next plan. Plus I took advantage of AT&T sale and got the LG G8X for Free. The caveat is that AT&T starts the installment credit after 90 days and must kept on the plan for the full 30 months. BTW the Dual Screen automatic inclusion is a temporary deal from both carriers and maybe also from those selling unlocked phones. It retails for $200. Bringing the total price to the starting price of $900 USD. Plus tax.

Love this concept LG if your watching or reading this just make the dual screens come together as close as possible like small bezels and I'm sold. Bought my kids v40's and they have worked flawlessly.

I just got my LG G8 x thinq last night at at&t an I work up 6 this morning on it I love this phone
I haven't used yet, just got LG L8x dual- it will be an adventure discovering things it does! (Iam going from samsung 4s thats seen a few yrs) I chose this LG because hubby has brain cancer and Iam always looking of his meds and tests and info of his condition (googlin' ), but keep his dr appts and taking pics for his drs are really useful medical wise. But I forget there are fun things on phone too- so it will be nice for me (vid chat better w/mom who lives a state away), and let me take notes easier with split keypad. Thank you for your vid, I am happy to have more useful phone!

I'm using lg v20 and i reallly liked v50 and dual screen case. However i wish the case had an opening where back cameras lies so that one could flip case screen backwards and use back cameras for selfie and basic vlogging purposes.

No more 3120x 1440p and since the phone is larger now it no longer has class leading ppi.

it is resolution champ if you put both screens together in it's price range, that's about 4600X1080P, not including the front monochrome display.
lg g8x has sony imx 345 exmor rs sensor for main camera .such a sensor is located in samsung galaxy s9 and note 9

I was hoping that the LG G8 x dual screen with be compatible with my American v50. It fits the case just fine and it plugged in via the USB C Port but there is no display on my 1950 or it does not transport any display to the blue screen self.
