- I discuss my thoughts and opinions of owning a vehicle in Ecuador.
Many foreigners, who call themselves expats immigrate to Ecuador for many reasons; including retirement, lower cost of living, nature, adventure and a healthier style of living.

Ecuador is located in South America and we are loving it!
Great video. Looking forward to hearing about all your travel adventures.
Thank you!
I look forward to seeing what you buy. I am also looking forward to seeing the process of getting your motorcycle license there because I am also a rider and there is little to no information on how to get your motorcycle license in Ecuador, or even the process of buying a motorcycle there. Please please PLEASE do a video on that process. Oh, and if you could discuss the electric scooter situation there, too, that would be great. We are talking about buying a couple of those too. They would probably be your most viewed videos. Thank you.
I will definitely document the process. The process for us immigrants hasn't been documented much at all.
I have an electric scooter, a Tekno. No license required. Helmet recommend but not mandatory. I would not get one for olon, tbh, that's a busy chaotic road. Salinas has lots of wider often empty streets nicely paved, and it's really spread out so any transport is helpful. In Olon it's walkable and easy to get in and off bus to montanita. And taxi cheaper than Salinas. Not trying to compare, just a perspective. I try to bus to Olon once a month, and stayed over a couple of times. It's the only source of Indian food which I used to eat back home weekly minimum 😢
@@birdsinparadise3113We have found excellent results with our scooter so far. It's been perfect for running to town and grabbing groceries or parking it at the beach to go for a swim :)
That’s good information. Thank you 👍🏾
Glad it was helpful!
We live in Manta, not out in the country, specifically because we do NOT want a vehicle. It's just WAAAAAYYYYY too much trouble.
We now have 1 scooter, 1 motorcycle and 1 VW bus. We can't imagine life without them. There is no way we would go without a personal vehicle now. Our freedom to travel and explore the crooks and crannies of this country has just increased 1000% :)
@@TravelwithJoshandJess wow. Scooter, motorcycle AND a VW bus, in Ecuador. You really do throw caution to the wind, huh?
Enjoy and best wishes.
