    Welcome to your new home Ecuador!! I hope you enjoy it and live a happy life. In ECUADOR each province has a different gastronomy, you may find the same dish but with different taste or a variation of it. In general the four regions have a different gastronomy. Ecuador is called el country of four worlds because of the diversity of ecosystems.

      Thanks for the information! One thing we've already realized is that there are so many variations of everything in such a small footprint. Thanks so much for watching :)

    I bumped into you folks at the Olon Square (with Kris and Mike) while waiting for President Noboa's speech.
    I found your evaluation after your first month in Olon to be spot on. We stayed a month in San Clemente, before our second month in Olon, and found the cost of basic food and restaurants to be about 25% higher in Olon. On one of my early grocery runs in San Clemente, I asked for some bananas...about a dollar's worth ('banana, una dolar, por favor' in my best basic Spanish). 23 bananas later I had to support the bottom of bag in order to carry them back to the condo.
    Looking forward to watching your bike explorations of Ecuador. I'm now back in Canada freezing my ass off.

      Good afternoon Rick! We remember you and enjoyed hearing about your experiences while in Ecuador. I hope returning to Canada's cold wasn't too much of a shocker! Anyway, thank you for watching and we look forward to seeing you again.

    I know the coast I have lived many years in Guayaquil, now I live in Galapagos, I am Ecuadorian, but I must tell you that the coast has advantages such as the cool climate and the low altitude beach, beaches, seafood etc, but the mountains and the Andes are a wonder of cities and towns, certain places look like Switzerland due to their nature. Hopefully they will go to Cuenca, Quito, Loja etc

    Fun video, my and I will be in Ecuador on our exploratory trip in a couple of weeks. March 26th🎉😎👍🏼🍾 we are Latino Americans, it was very fun to hear you talk about “taco’s” in Ecuador!…. I ride a HD Springer, can I have it shipped? I been riding since 1976 and would be very sad to leave it behind.😢 can you please 🙏🏼 help with this very important matter! Thank you! We do plan to get to Alon on our trip, maybe we can get together?

      Hi there! Thanks for watching! I have bad news..... You can't import your Harley :( Unfortunately you can't import any vehicles unless you are an Ecuadorian citizen who has lived out of the country and is now moving back to Ecuador. I really struggled with not being able to bring my Harley here, but honestly, I'm glad I didn't. I have it in storage back in the U.S. and it gives me an excuse to travel back to the U.S. to do a month long ride during the summer. So, I have a bike here to explore with, and my cherished Harley in the States to use on my summer vacations.
      We would be more that happy to meet up for lunch when you get to Olon!

    I think youll find local cafes have cheaper almuerzo, so you can do both those pricier olon options as well as 3.00 3 course meals. Tia costs more than Tuti but they have good sales and you can order online to pick up

    Found you through Kris & Mike. Looking forward to your "settling in" insights, observations, and tips. We're still part-timing it between Florida and Santa Marianita. We made multiple exploratory trips to different parts during different seasons. My biggest surprise: the wind freaking stops in the wee hours of the morning. On the beach. On the beach world famous for kite- surfing. Next trip will involve installing a ceiling fan over the bed....

    Don't get a scale! Just do healthy things and live your best life 🥰. I want to see more videos about having dogs in Ecuador. How is veterinary care? Is there a 24 hour emergency vet available? What types pf pet food and supplies are available and how do they compare to the USA? Can you walk your dogs with you, or are the street dogs a problem?

    All around the earth, the equator is as close to the sun as you can get, hence the scorching sun temp!

      Is Cuenca cooler because it is of the higher altitude? Or would I find there too much rain for my liking?
      Doesn't the ocean moderate the temperature, and I like the idea of living somewhere where I would never have to see snow. I do not like the cold. I too much close off bedrooms to save on heating and cooling costs, so if the temperature is moderate, I would like having the entire use of my home.

    Curious to where you find your pasta de mani. I don't live to far from you and have only found pasta de mani at the Olon Grocery Store (owned and operated by by Asias, I believe)? And, that pasta de mani is soooo dry and hard. Found much better in Cuenca.

    • @TravelwithJoshandJess
      @TravelwithJoshandJess  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For the pre-packaged Pasta de Mani, we have found it at the Tia in Montinita as well as the Asian store you are referring to in Olon. For the "homemade" peanut butter, the stuff purchased in bulk, we buy it from the little fruit/vegetable tienda right next door to the Asian owned Grocery Store.

      Hey friend you're right, but what happens in Salinas is only once a year on New Year's Eve and carnival in February, Salinas is quiet the rest of the year. Relax and enjoy the good 😅

    • @birdsinparadise3113
      @birdsinparadise3113 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@proyectonuevo7487 clearly you've never lived near the malecons of Salinas. Noise started September on a random Tuesday and didn't stop unless there was a curfew. 8pm to 7am somebody sometime shows up blasting loud music while they park and drink and use the beach for bathroom instead of leaving. When they go, someone else showed up. So 90 percent noise I reduced to 90 percent quiet so now I'm only disturbed new years and Carnaval. And my new years in chipipe was three full 24 hour days before cops showed up with dozens of residents and visitors calling non stop
