I love how he somehow managed a lengthy butterfly fight without once getting the laser attack
he is very lucky, he dropped a balcknight greatsword, the mage in the chruch did not buff the hollows or thrown magic at him but ran to him for melee, like I have never seen shit liek that. xD.

I'm astonished at how easily you handled the capra demon, just surviving the walk into the arena is a nightmare. I remember one time I stepped through the fog gate, rolled once and instantly got pinned against the wall and died
Capra Demon is 90% luck.
That shows that it's not his first time playing DS. From his first video it was noticeable.

Someone on Deebee's team tell him about pressing square to see more details about menu items and pressing select/option/touchpad/whatever to get information on what particular values do
If it's still darkened in with a red X, no you can't use it yet. You can get 1.5 Strength by two-handing, (so if you had a Str requirement of 24, technically you only need 16 Str to two-hand the weapon: 16 + 8 (0.5 your Str) = 24. However, you cannot do that with any state besides Strength. You will need minimal requirements to be met with Dex, Int, Fth before you can use something that requires them.
Oh, and do remember you get more information on items in your inventory by tapping [square]/X when hovering over them.
I too want to see him swing the big sword for real...
It's always funny and tense watching someone get really close to a bonfire, then make one wrong turn and barely miss it.

It’s hilarious to me that you scoffed at the shortcut that said try jumping, continued the long way around through the sewers until you got to the boss room and exclaimed that there aren’t any shortcuts. I’m happy you found the sewer shortcut, but the one behind the butcher is indeed the faster route. Who wants to take the fast route on a first playthrough though. Still always very excited for these 😊

You’re having a hell of a run. You absolutely blitzed capra demon like no other noob has. Blighttown and sens funhouse are the true test but at this rate you’ll smoke through em.
This is the best playthrough of this game cuz it's so satisfying seeing someone absolutely nailing every single mechanic the game has given them. Dude spawns in.... immediately learns how to parry attacks perfectly. Understands that running through the enemies to the boss is the way. Starts strafing around the gaint lightning stone guy and kills him. Upgrades weapons appropriately. FINDS THE HIDDEN BONFIRE. Is never overloaded and fat rolling. Takes down the Capra Demon. It's almost perfect.
This game was From Software's peak level design IMO.
I watched you play all Zeldas live, from Ocarina to Skyward. I can't wait to watch you go through these games. Welcome to the Souls community, and good luck on your journey of gitting gud.

Loving this playthrough. I know you probably finished it ages ago but my advice for these games is to ignore all advice from comments, unless you are really stuck, half the fun is figuring things out for yourself. I think the only thing to take advice for is on not ruining your build by wasting souls on stats you don't need. Player messages in-game (when not trolling) usually do a good enough job of helping out. Also great parry skills, it's a lot harder fighting the knights etc if you can't parry (I'm terrible) but then again the risk/reward means you deserve your victories! Finally we never get any actual thoughts on the game from you, would be nice to hear some of them in the edits.

I'm so glad you're playing Dark Souls Dee. Only thing I wanna say is going forward if the boss you're facing has a tail, attack it. You'll get cool things from boss tails in this game. Also, you really are the parry god. Everytime I try to parry I get smacked, meanwhile you parry so effortlessly it's insane.
Excited for the next episode tho!
Wtf, gaping dragon only used half his attacks, he never even puked
The puke is a rare attack tbh I seen it one time in 3 of my runs.
@15:46 You can two-hand a weapon effectively with only 2/3 rds of the required strength, but there is no getting around the 18 Dexterity requirement. The Black Knight Greatsword requires 32 Strengh and 18 Dex. You can wield that weapon effectively with only 22 Strength if you two-hand it, but you still need 18 Dex. (Note the red 'X' over the weapon icon)
First of all, great Video Dee, really enjoy the series!
Second, since you defeated the Gaping Dragon in this episode (and I know you are already playing DS3) you could give the Gaping Dragon DS1 parody of matthew shezmen a watch. He also has a huge "Dork Souls 3" parody series which is quite fun, but the Gaping Dragon one adds a cute little backstory to the boss.

When you fight a dragon (there are a few in the game), try to cut off its tail. This will always give you a unique weapon at the end of the fight :)

Dude, I have to say I'm surprised by how good you are at this! Between the parries and your handling of the Capra Demon, you're already playing better than some veterans of the series.
I remember my first playthrough, I fought that thing like fifty times and never truly beat it; eventually I summoned another player who one shotted it with fully upgraded pyromancy lol, I've been a fan of it ever since! That man you found in the Depths can help you use it, unlike Sorceries and Miracles it requires no stat investment and only needs souls to make it stronger.
I played Dark Souls Remasteted last year at a friend’s recommendation. I was very new to ARPGs, and terrible at them. I was used to games where your character is essentially static the entire game, there’s no equipment/item management, stat building etc. The closest I got was Spiderman 😂 I ended up being way over powered about half way through the game, because I kept getting lost or accidentally soul farming, and I’d almost always go back and level up every few minutes when I could. I got lucky and got the black knight greatsword early on, and leveled my strength up as quick as possible so I could one or two hand it, so when I fought Capra it was easy.
The biggest thing I’m noticing about your playing (and I did the same thing) is you need to learn to roll into/around attacks. The hitboxes are pretty small and predictable, and it’s easy to avoid damage. Also: USE YOUR SHEILD. Haha. It’s a great defense. I’m jealous that you figured out parrying so quick, it took me FOREVER to get it.
My friend recommended that I skip Dark Souls 2 and go straight to 3, so I’m about halfway through right now.

Buy some purging stones, you will need it for later, also when you're going on a ladder, stop and press circle (or B if you're in xbox) to go down faster.
Loving these, I hope you plan to play the dlc part as well, its a pain in the ass to find how to get in the dlc, after looking for 7 days I gave up and looked it up online. Watching these makes me want to play it again but I know I wont finish the playthrough.

Bummer, missed out on a good weapon there but there are plenty of other good ones.
For future reference, if you encounter a boss and it has a tail, cut it off. You'll not only deprive your enemy of an attack but also gain a new weapon, even if you fail to close the fight then.
Didn’t even get a chance to see the most annoying attack from the gaping dragon lol

I'm not sure if this was all in one session, but pressing the leftmost button (square ps, X xbox) you can get additional information about what an item does, and sometimes the small description doesn't always give the best explanation.
2:53 I see you've learned the joys of light rolling versus medium rolling in this game. A buddy of mine in the past would tell me that medium rolling isn't that bad if you just get used to it. But I feel like a lot of people's experience of the game being clunky is attributed to the roll being slow.
My personal favourite set is Havel's armor set with his dragon tooth. So there's no way i can get a light roll with this🤣
My god man luck is on your side big time Gaping Dragon isn't to difficult on it's own, but like someone else said he never even puked, it was one of the first attacks he did on me and my weapon upgraded I think +6 or +7 Great Scythe instantly was broken by the puke 😂

hey bro u can 2 hand the black knight great sword and u can use it u dont have to level up 32 str and 22 dex cause u can 2hand at 14 str and 11 dex
you dont need the correct, strength to wield a weapon properly, because you get a strength boost of 50% when you two hand it,but you always need the correct dexterity. so you only need 22 strength to use the black knight greatsword with two hands, but you still need the 18 dex

So big hint if a boss has a tail Except one of the dlc boss it has a tail weapon in the game you can cut it off and get a weapon gaping dragon had one. I believe you need to do like 15% damage to the tail to cut it off. It can cut a bosses power by a bit. I am impressed though.
If you had cut off the gaping dragon's tail you would have gotten a big great axe with the ability to send out aoe shockwaves at the cost of weapon durability. lol

Hey, DBG, not to be rude here, and I hope my statement doesn't come off that way, but you shouldn't be afraid of these first area enemies, you're like right next to them to attack, but you back up to 10 feet away which makes you waste your stamina, just to get close enough to hit them. Plus, if you're afraid of these low-level area monsters, just imagine what it's gonna be like when you meet the big OTK bosses just saying ok.
question: do you know how to increase your max equipment load? Doing so might be useful to you - going around with no armor makes mistakes more punishing, especially around numerous weaker enemies.
42:27 tip: read the freakin' signs. Many of these are jokes, yes, but, unless they suggest you to blindly jump off a cliff, or something, they can point you towards some thing easy to miss, or warn you of a trap or ambush.
43:35 this situation shows the perils of running blindly - you overlooked the passage to a bonfire. Slimes can be tenacious, but they are *slow,* only you are, like 5 meters from them, you don't need to rush avoiding them for a while.
45:00 to be honest - the way mixed-damage type weapons work in this game, these weapons actually might deal *less* damage overall, especially as they require more stats to be developed for damage scaling. They can be useful for certain enemy types (like Divine weapon against skeletons), but otherwise, it's not a good idea to turn your "main" weapon into a hybrid.

you can cutoff its talie with your sword if you can run up to it and then run bake away from it got sidnts run then go up to its side if itsramd into a wall attak run away got sidnats witch its moves then run a way it will at a point fillt its body up trund try to fly and land on you run away wen it falls o the ground its hadey will be down run around to the taiel and cut it off

Your reactions are hilarious, but here's a straight tip for you dude, stop trying to go for the epic critical kill on every single enemy. What you basically need to do is dodge out of the way and hit them as many times as possible. Also, upgrade your other abilities like vitality, dexterity, and agility. Also, you might want to think about getting some fire, ice, and lightning spells they work on ranged enemies.
ALWAYS CUT OFF TAIL!! Tail weapons are some of the best weapons in the game.
