- Note that this is my personal top list. Your opinion may differ from mine. I didn't set any special rules on how many tracks there can be from a single game or franchise, so you're going to hear many tracks from Mega-Man and Castlevania.
50 is surprisingly small number when you compare it with all the amazing tracks that were published on Nintendo Entertainment System, so my apologies to anyone who didn't find their favourite in this list.

Dude, the first three songs on this playlist are some of my favorite! There are so many great ones!
Journey to Silius is just on its own tier. I'd put it right up there with the Castlevania and Megaman series. Excellent melodic ideas, great development of moods, and it just sounds like legit metal music only encumbered by the limitations of the era's technology.
Yeah, it has some very nice themes. Why was it placed so low on the list? I never played the game so there was zero nostalgia value, unlike some other games.
Oh, I have zero qualms about its ranking. I was just expressing my love for it. I literally mostly use retro gaming music playlists like this as a wonderful way to immerse myself in long cooking sessions at the house. It's extremely serene and I highly recommend it. Even if you don't like cooking, try listening while enjoying any other hobby you have.

Wow, I didn't think I could find anything to compete against Megaman on this quest for awesome NES music, but Kirby is pretty up there!
Wow that Spy vs Spy song at 5:57 took me back in a funny way! Was listening here looking away and weirdly thought of that game when it came up before seeing it. It has to be at least 20 years since I last herd it. Crazy!

Blaster master, is definitely my all time favorite NES music.
That is a SOLID list. Thanks for putting it together. I agree, many of these are really good! I think the music from most games for most later systems really declined after NES. The sound capabilities grew, but the quality of the basic melodies did not. (there are exceptions, such as Symphony of the Night...)
There are some surprisingly good songs from surprisingly bad games in there too. :)

Hmmm... my absolute favorite NES track.. That's tough. Normally I'd say something from Mega Man 3 like Top Man or Wily's stage perhaps.. but I think I'm going to go with the first level from Journey to Silius. There's something about that track...
Anyway, the NES is filled to the brim with amazing tunes, some obvious like Contra or Castlevania, others more obscure, like Power Blade. It's great!

Fixing the name: “Songs from the 15 or so Games I Had As a Kid.” Where’s the Duck Tales Moon theme? Dragon Quest, Rad Racer, IronSword Final battle, Metal Gear, Super Dodge Ball, Double Dragon… and those are off the top of my head
