This is the OST to the Castlevania Trilogy for the NES! But in my own form of Stereo! Which spreads the sound channels and adds a bit of echo/reverb. These mixes also do not represent true, original, or actual stereo that the NES has, this is just to make the music sound more clear and crisp, and is another way of listening to the greatness of 8Bit music. So enjoy this soundtrack in what I like to call, WiiGuy's 8Bit Stereo!! :D

Christ, I remember buying the first one in '88. So frustrating, but worth it. Some of those bosses were pure hell. To be a kid in the 80s was pure bliss....almost.
dark souls took inspiration from Castlevania
Going up to any boss with Holy Water and Triple Shot: "Say hello to mah lil fren!"
Im still a proud owner of a Nintendo NES that works till now!
With the holy water all bosses except Dracula are ridicolously easy. Kind of like the robot masters in Mega Man are super easy with the right weapon, but with the Mega Buster Elecman and Fireman are next to impossible to beat.

It's a good one. Apart from simply the way it sounds, it really help set the mood for towns during daylight hours.
I don't know how they did it...but they mixed Shaft, Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach all into one tune.

And this is the butchered one, the Famicom version of Castlevania 3 is so much richer.
No matter what I'm doing, where I am, or what time it is, I will never say no to these OST's. Hands down my favorite series of all time and Ive played A LOT of games over the years. Perfection.

This is my favorite! Would you ever consider making a compilation of the Famicon versions of the Castlevania trilogy? It would be amazing to listen to those versions back-to-back-to-back.
I still believe The Silence of Daylight is the best classic Castlevania theme.
Silence of Daylight isn't my personal favorite, but it does perfectly set the mood for walking through cities in Castlevania II.
Thanks for saying this, as I have usually just passed over it over the years, but after relistening, you are right! It is very quintessentially Castlevania. The overall flavour of the classic OST is all right there in The Silence of the Daylight.
That theme has been a favorite of mine since I was 6. I still listen to it a few times a year and it makes me feel the same way it did back then.

I can put Wicked Child, Walking on the Edge and Heart of Fire on loop and be happy all afternoon. And I'd put these three sequential tracks up against any other three sequential tracks on any other NES game.

After megaman 2, Castlevania II might have been the second game I rented for my NES in the late 80s. Great memories. Inexpressible frustration! The soundtrack stays with me, above all else.

Been getting into NES soundtracks big time lately. And the mixes on this channel are HANDS DOWN the best I’ve come across! I’m a fan! What’s with the reverb across, at least, the double dragon ost? Not that it sounds bad, I just didn’t understand why it was so present.

If you closely listen to the first level themes for all 3 they sound so similar in tune.

I'll admit that Castlevania 3 is actually a better game, but Simon's Quest is the game that I love the most.
It was an adventure, exploring your way across the terror-tory of Transylvania, finding new secrets, unraveling mysteries... Yeah I know other games did that better; it's all just the nostalgia talking because I played it as a child. But nothing can replace how I feel about that game.

I kept going back to playing these tunes during my Dungeons and Dragons: Curse of Strahd game. The first time they entered the vampire's castle and I hit Vampire Killer was hilarious.
Also, I made a point of having a druid collecting graveyard dirt for a ritual... Disguised himself as a duck when the party got close. When they disturbed him, he dropped his bag full of dirt. So, they literally got a silk bag from the graveyard duck. 🦆 💰 😆😆😆
