- Collection of songs from a wide range of NES games. We tried to include a lot of lesser heard songs, along with the usual more well known songs. Songs were hand picked by myself and Tarbash.

All of us who listen to this are probably all in our mid to late 30s or 40s.
Well I can assure you that chiptune music is a thing for younger people, even 20s people grew up with NES games as childs

I'm 16, and i'm watching this because I enjoy retro games. There's just a charm that I don't find in newer games. Plus, they are easier to make. I think people should make games on older systems like NES, even if it's not sold anymore, new games would sure be fun. My favorite NES game is S.C.A.T., because it's very Contra-esque, but you can fly around the level

Love this title screen music comp. I remember starting these games up, hearing these tunes, and that was my childhood. Ninty and Shiggy would be proud.

3:53 That funky version of the Star Wars Cantina Band, brings back memories of my friend and I killing ourselves trying to get past the first few levels of that game and never getting to the spaceship levels shown on the back screenshots of the box, which is the whole reason we hired it! He visits and we still can't do it till this day!!

Gyruss had illogically good bangers for an early nes game
It's interesting how you can always tell the Western developed games by that distinctive "trilling" sort of tone that sounds like it's coming out of a C64.
I don't know where it is in the mix, but the Solstice main theme is a prime example of that tone. It's the best!
It’s called arpeggio and or arp for short and is a chord played monophonically so one note at a time old systems could play complex chords because each note requires a different oscillator at the same time so they would cycle the notes of a chord quickly
@@VitaEx Makes sense. I have always wondered why it's so closely associated with Western developed games, though. Did Japanese game composers have some actual reason to use the technique to a much lesser degree or even avoid it entirely?
Will Mistretta there are different ways to program sounds to stack tones and make them sound like a chord could be a style choice may have more to do with the year then western or eastern as certain styles seem more popular at different eras but I’m not sure hard to say

Can anyone tell me the name of the track playong on 49:49 is i love it but i cant see.the title because of how its written and the uploader didnt help by listing the names in alphabetical order rather than in a time sequence
What it's written there is "Dragon Scroll". I'm sure you can find it starting from that :)
I am looking for music/songs that were played in the background in the lobby when you choose what game to play on NES consoles, and I can't find them. Does anyone know where I can find them?

@@switchel_schnitzel4154 I found the console that I played as a kid, it is called Ending man console. On the cartridges of that console there were 8bit music in the background in the lobby.
