This is the best list I've seen on TH-cam so far. Only complaints are no River City Ransom (Runnin' Around) and Ninja Gaiden being too low, haha. Great job! I listen to this all the time at work.
Thanks, I appreciate your feedback! Yes, Ninja Gaiden is a little too low, and River City Ransom has a very good OST. There are many good OST's missing, Darkwing Duck etc.

Thanks man, good shouts! Jeroen Tel should have had one in my list; the Robocop 3 (especially) and Alien 3 theme songs are great. Double Dragon is at 37 though.
SOLID. Sooo many of my favorites on here. We're definitely on the same wavelength, my friend. I normally don't listen to lists of this length. Video came on during a shuffle while doing housework. Glad it did.
This might be the best collection of NES music I've heard on TH-cam. No list is perfect of course since there is no such thing but there is a very thoughtful and varied collection of stuff here. I turn this on listen to it during my work day sometimes. Powers me right through the day, thanks for the hard work that went into this! Great job!
fafillionaire Great list by the way ... Only things missing in my opinion are Blaster Master stage 4, Crystalis final battle, NES world cup final match, and a Guardian Legend track(Underwater corridor, field mini boss)
I miss times that game music was simly awesome. Now its mostly generic all of the same movielike stuff. Also a lot of these songs are so inspired on metal songs. This is a great video. You should do a remastered Top 100 version with new editing effects ;) You deserve the views.
Congratulations my son today you are a man! I know i'd trade it all back for a big old crt tv a Nintendo and plenty of cereal and the ability to tolerate milk again.

+BuFFoTheArtClown The music was totally rad, but the game sucked. Similar to all of the games that Tim Follin composed for, his music was unrivaled but his best and most iconic tunes appeared in the worst of games.
Thanks! It's a very good OST. Btw here's a guitarist, Nestalgica, playing an electric guitar cover of the VS theme (the standout tack for me) th-cam.com/video/cYkZueTJoZ4/w-d-xo.html with an acoustic guitar ending. Nice, a proper tune.
The game was bad and its themes were blah at best. Deal with it. And no it's not bad because it's hard. It's bad because it's BAD. Everyone says Battletoads is hard; nobody ever says it's good.
RealParadoxBlues Battletoads is awesome. You just have bad taste in video games. And a lot of people say it’s good, do your research. Also the soundtrack is awesome, though I’m not too surprised that it isn’t there.
I like this list but I feel some of these songs got on based off their reputation alone. Like Super Mario at 5 and LoZ at 1 is understandable but Warriors & Wizards Title Screen and Castlevania II's: Bloody Tears should have been at least top 10. You could listen to those and they'll be stuck in your head forever. Unlike Mario's theme because it's just so common. Very glad the Batman Streets of Desolation got in there.
Thanks, good feedback. I agree that Bloody Tears should have been a little higher, top 10. W&Ws Title tune is an old composition, not truly an original song. I would have pushed up CII a little and moved Journey to Silius down to 5th or 6th now.
Thank you for putting unbreakable determination on your list. I thought it should be higher; however, it is your list and I respect and admire the work you put into this list... I can't do what you did. You should do a top 70 SNES music list.

Holy cheese balls, that took a while. And to anyone who's gonna say "BuT iT sAyS tHoSe In ThE dEsCrIpTiOn So YoU cAn UsE tHoSe!", mobile users make up a hell of alot of TH-cam users and they can't use timestamps that are in the description. Plus, this way, you can quickly access a specific song you want to jump to.
:)
this reminds me how silly these enemies were..just walking back and forth aimlessly..just being evil.. good times :D
Yup
Really brought tears to my eyes... inmediately went to my psp NES emulator... thank you for the golden child memories bro
Thanks bro, I appreciate it!
Its not a good playlist. Its an AWESOME Playlist man !
Thanks man!!
!!
You chose my favorite as #1!
Absolute best of all time!
Yeah, good memories indeed. The NES sure has some awesome games and great soundtracks! Hard 2D 8-bit and 16-bit games with good and responsive controls are still nice to play every once in a while.
Best part at 36:33...Italy 11-England 3, after great saves 😂
Shadowgate! Ah... the nostalgia...
Simply great compilation of NES music. I can't point any song that shouldn't be there. Good job Kristian!
Thanks Pixelman007! Appreciated.
Why is the Pictionary Theme so rocking? Hell yes!
lmao That was literally my same reaction.
Indeed, sounds much better suited for some sort of bad ass side scroller or something.
At least, Scrabble.
The Follin family is not human, they are magical multi-dimensional beings that decided to grace the Earth with their presence. Praise them.

This is... the BEST list of NES music I have ever seen. I haven't seen a lot of my favorites on it yet, but many of these games I never even heard of. I mean seriously... you even got Pictionary in there? And the soundtrack is badass.
Great job man, and thank you
Many thanks! Some get a little angry that Zelda is number one, and yeah, it could have been e.g. Mega Man 2 at number one too.
great job, man. I used this list to cook and organize the garage. no need to skip any of the tracks.
№2 also known as RAF World, with slightly different looking protagonist and special music theme on bosses fight.
Thanks for posting this, it's awesome to listen to while doing schoolwork :)
I've listened to a fuck ton of nes playlists on TH-cam, and I gotta say this is my favorite one by far. Excellent choices!
NES Era the best era ever made in the history of gaming . I wish that this era would come back just for one day ...
nostalgia, exactly why my NES is 100% functional maintained and ready for me whenever I need a getaway.
One day isn't enough time to appreciate all the work put into games back then. I'm glad I'm old enough to remember how good it used to be.
There have been TONS of NES style 8-bit styled games being made. You have been seriously missing out if you didn't know about any of them.
just a few of them are actually great though
NINJA GAIDEN 2 ALL SONGS.
DOUBLE DRAGON ALL SONGS
BATMAN ALL SONG
SILVER SURFER
ARE BEST COMPOSITIONS
This is the best list I've seen on TH-cam so far. Only complaints are no River City Ransom (Runnin' Around) and Ninja Gaiden being too low, haha. Great job! I listen to this all the time at work.
Thanks, I appreciate your feedback! Yes, Ninja Gaiden is a little too low, and River City Ransom has a very good OST. There are many good OST's missing, Darkwing Duck etc.
Appreciate all the work that went into making this. It's a nice list! Misses some of my favourites like Kirby and Gauntlet, though :(
Thanks! Agree that I should have put the Gauntlet song in.
Palin nAtini
These are excellent selections and reveal a very comprehensive knowledge of the console's library. Best NES music vid I've encountered.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Great list! Really enjoyed it.
Thanks, nice channel!
Nr1 for me is either Batman Labaratory Ruins(Stage 4) or Simon's Quest - Bloody Tears hard to decide. Battle of the Titans of NES game music! 😂
omg so happy to read here I'm not the only one who's insanely rockin' out to the Pictionary tune.
It’s crazy how well that sample channel on the NES was used for late era NES games
its amazing how much good music the nes has when its almost beeps and boops how limited the nes hardware was.
At 1:10:16 I had to pause and read upside down to see the lowest text. Good thing I paid attention to the effect you used so I'd realize I could read it during the effect, haha
I loved Maniac Mansion but never cared about the "Dave Theme". Now.. Decades later.. I get goosebumps. The Power of the mighty NES!

This almost make me cry because I remembered a lot of things... Thanks OP.
You're welcome. Thanks!
Thanks, man! great selection! I would like to see here robocop 3, alien 3, Jurassic park and battletoads and double dragon
Thanks! Glad to be on the same wavelength, friend. (Siamese Dream was one of my favorite albums in the 90s :))
Only thing I would have added was Gravity Man from Megaman 5.
Or Napalm man or Proto Fortress
@@muxilava big time! Those are both amazing tunes
Or battletoads
This might be the best collection of NES music I've heard on TH-cam. No list is perfect of course since there is no such thing but there is a very thoughtful and varied collection of stuff here. I turn this on listen to it during my work day sometimes. Powers me right through the day, thanks for the hard work that went into this! Great job!
Thanks!!! So much good NES music to choose from.
Do you have Jehovah God in your life?
Great compilation! Happy you have SIlver Surfer in the top ten, the music in that game kicks ass (I also think th game is awesome)
Alesiopdv Thanks! The game is good, but hard and hurts my thumb a bit, good mashing practice though.
Imo #8 (1:02:21) is the real #1, but hey, this list is solid nonetheless.
Thank god Kraid's Lair showed up, I'm a little buzzed right now but I was about to be legitimately angry lol
fafillionaire Great list by the way ...
Feel tired and pressured growing up.... And unhappy...
金建邦 And?
Miss the old days. Life is getting boring
Congratulations my son today you are a man! I know i'd trade it all back for a big old crt tv a Nintendo and plenty of cereal and the ability to tolerate milk again.
Hey brother, can I use this quote in my book? I'm writing a book for teens about how adult life is bullshit. Please respond, I'm 100% serious
try meditation:)
*OHHHHHH MY F'N GOD, I CAME HETE HOPING TO FIND TARGET RENEGADE AND I FOUUUUND TARGET RENEGADE!!!!! FOR 25 YEARS I FORGOT THE NAME OF THE GAME, AND CAME HERE WITH ONNNNLY THE SONG IN MY HEAD!!!!*
*FOR YEEEEARS I KEPT SAYING,"It's a game like RCR,but way better music,"*
*THANNNNK YOU FOR THIS!!!*
Very happy for you. One of those moments on the internet huh...
The Wizards and Warriors music is going to be stuck in my head all day. Great video. Obviously a lot if effort has gone into this so cheers!
Cheers!!
Why hasn't anyone ever informed me that Pictionary has probably the best music on the NES?
WHY!?!?!?!?
+BuFFoTheArtClown The music was totally rad, but the game sucked. Similar to all of the games that Tim Follin composed for, his music was unrivaled but his best and most iconic tunes appeared in the worst of games.
Solstice and Plok were alright games though
So glad to see Nintendo World Cup on this! That game has a killer soundtrack, and that song brings back the most fondest of memories.
NO BATTLETOADS
????? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????
+Tony MDS He prob just dont like them as much as these :P
+Tony MDS I really couldn't believe there is no Surf City here
The game was bad and its themes were blah at best. Deal with it. And no it's not bad because it's hard. It's bad because it's BAD. Everyone says Battletoads is hard; nobody ever says it's good.
I'm not the one who thinks it's cool to tell people to kill themselves. Are you really so small?
RealParadoxBlues Battletoads is awesome. You just have bad taste in video games. And a lot of people say it’s good, do your research. Also the soundtrack is awesome, though I’m not too surprised that it isn’t there.
Awesome list. My personal favorite is your #4 Mega Man 2 Wily Stage 1. I also introduced some great tunes that I had not heard before. Thank You
9:55 rygar mastery!
Such a great game. One of the very best on the console and often overlooked like Jackal.
@@devilzdandruff9199 at least some people talk about those games, they’re not completely forgotten.
Solid picks man. I feel like a lot of people go based on how popular the game is but you have a good ear for good music
Thanks!
***** Ohhh I did not know that about the W&W! O.o
You have certainly brought back some way back memories with this list. Thanks a lot!
Starting off with the best track from Contra Force = instant like 😋
Nobody:
The title screen for NES pictionary: kicking more ass then it needs to
Why is this song such a bop!
Great choices !. And I really appreciate how you have a lot of unusual (but good !) picks in there.
Thanks!
A list of epicNESs! Thanks.
Lots of thankfulNESs!
Putting limitations on the list is a great idea and produces a much more interesting listen. Awesome job!
Thanks!
Great choice :) I'm probably gonna get myself a NES mobile ringtone as well soon.
Don't care about the list and ranking but dude you gave me childhood back! Ahh Gawd, Our Generation Rocks!
Thanks! The lucky generation indeed.
Wolverine deserves a spot on this list somewhere, as does G.I. Joe: The Atlantis Factor
It's just his opinion
Thank you for putting unbreakable determination on your list. I thought it should be higher; however, it is your list and I respect and admire the work you put into this list... I can't do what you did. You should do a top 70 SNES music list.
Thanks! I should have put Unbreakable determination a few places higher.
Hey the Magician game actually has crickets chirping in the forest at night, I'm really surprised that they managed to have ambient sounds on the NES.
Yeah, very unusual ambient sounds for its time. I like it.
