I didn't even know cows needed this. I thought it was just horses getting shoes and whatever. To see such instant results, mainly pain management...is wonderful. When we have hundreds of thousands of dollars invested in these animals there’s little reason to be concerned. Dairy cattle are some of the most pampered animals on the planet. When we milk 2,000 cows three times a day we want the best possible production we can get. Most dairy farms are family owned. There’s millions of dollars at stake and riding on these critters. We want them very happy.

@@bellona6356 Well I work on one and where ever you get your info is screwed up. When a family has millions of dollars at stake they aren’t going to abusing the things that pay the families. In fact it’s quite the opposite. The cows are put in our charge. When you’re milking 1800+ a day , you would not dare to hurt them. A happy cow gives more milk. Go harass someone else. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Astonishingly they really do, the trimmer on the dairy I grew up on always called the blocks crutches for cows! One shocker is just how much pain a cow can stand before it shows. I tell you they are stoic creatures and their claws can withstand tremendous punishment. You'll hear ppl say you Can overheat their claw with a grinder. Or a blowtorch I really don't think so, I've literally taken a claw from a cadaver and put a torch on it with )the claw over my fingers and no shit I didn't feel it! But all that means that you've really gotta watch the cows, their feet are EVERYTHING! So no joke the trimmer is literally one of the most important ppl on a farm
