How Now Brown Abscess Cow!

- Quite a funky little abscess on a funky little cow! I reckon this might have been a sterile abscess from a vaccine or micro mineral injection. Another stellar performance from my Easy Boss E, thank you Dr. Finlay!
That pacifier thing was amazing! The cow stayed so calm, beautiful work!
Love the cow pacifier, amazing that chewing on metal makes her happy.
Simply amazing how much the cows like chewing on metal.
Horses are the same; they just like to be mouthing something all the time. I had a hoof pick that, when new, had a plastic handle shaped like a horse head. I quickly discovered it had a secondary use as a pacifier while the farrier was working on one of my horses. Otherwise, he'd inevitably steal my farrier's hat and use that for a paci instead. The handle didn't look like a horse head for long.
It’s annoying for her! Duh! She has no choice but to react😢
That is crazy cool how the metal device keeps the cow busy. Much better than trying to restrain her head. Another great job by my favorite vet to watch!
Such a good moo moo❤️
lol the fact she seen you and ran, at the beginning of the video😂, she knew what time it was
😂😂😂😂😂😊
Her: you called the vet!?!?!?
Beef cattle in Australia are in big fields. Hundreds of acres sometimes. They are not handled often. They are nervous, and reactive. That's why the yards and equipment have to be super strong.
That makes me thirsty for a milkshake
She didn’t seen him. She saw him
Finally! A doc on youtube, in this case a Vet, but it's the same for humans -- who understands that the treatment for an abscess is Incision and Drainage. That's it. Local anesthetic is useless and just makes the process worse. Make a good size opening, drain the gunk, irrigate the wound, and leave it open.
Good-o!
Amen brother… don’t get me started! And folks that use hydrogen peroxide… talk about show boating! Cheers!
@@EnochtheCowVet I've always used peroxide for my own infections, thought the foaming ment it was working, killing the gunk. Takes a vet to teach me better!
I've been cut and poked so many times that the lack of anesthetic for a simple procedure like that doesn't faze me, but I figure most humans would do well with a little bit of topical anesthetic or freezing spray to numb the skin. That's definitely about all the numbing that's going to work unless you nerve block an entire limb or digit though. Hard to nerve block a cheek.
@@EnochtheCowVet A few days after my appendix was removed the wound opened, the pus was unbelievable. I just pushed gauze into it every morning (using the handle of a teaspoon) and drew the gunk out twenty-four hours later. Left it open and it healed. We breed tough women in Wales!
@@morrigan908freezing spray, yes. Injections of lido add pressure and hurt like heck! As soon as the pressure is off it feels way better. No need for the messing around.
Like a baby with a pacifier ❤️ Sweet cow🥰. For me, your channel is the best and I’m always happy to see a new post!
Are you from Montana Boss?
@@EnochtheCowVet not any more. Moved to Florida 20 years ago when my elderly parents became ill, then my husband got sick, and both my children and their families live here. At my age I’ll be staying put until that beautiful green pasture in the sky calls me home. Blessings to you & yours👋
@@Bozemanboss it might be warmer in Florida, but the wildlife down there is probably pretty strange from what your used to way up in Montana. I wish you the best when you make it to those green passengers put a good word in.
@@kathybrandt6060 oh the heat, it’s inferno level, triple digits in a day or two. Humidity 90-100%. Even with A/C in the house you can’t get dry after a shower. Not a fan of the heat, at all. The gators are fun to watch, but no lakeside living for me. The winters are an improvement but we only get about a month or two of cooler weather. The last two years my A/C has only been off for 3 weeks. But in this day and age I’m thankful to have a roof over my head and food on the table. 🙏🏻🐄
@@Bozemanboss that is way too warm for me. Born and raised within 10 miles of where I’m sitting in New Jersey about five minutes from the ocean. I visited Florida for a week once about 30 years ago we were on the West Coast and there was cockroaches the size of sparrows that were in our hotel room. We slept the whole time. We were there with the lights on so those monster bugs wouldn’t come out. But now you have lizards that are even more problematic than the alligators and pigs that will hunt you down if you get in their way when we visited down there 30 years ago, we were on the West Coast, Sanibel Island, and then our flight was taking off from the East Coast so we took the roads through the Everglades and there was a place area that you could go ride through the Everglades so we did that big sign said do not stop your car do not get out of your car. The pigs are dangerous. Of course, being a stupid 26 year old I got out to take a picture and darn if four pigs didn’t come out of nowhere running hellbent to get me ha ha ha I jumped back in the car in time so that they did not eat me I got a beautiful picture so it was kind of worth it. Every year in late winter I get the air conditioning serviced because I know I’m gonna need it on most of the summer. I worked for a newspaper for 23 years then got married. Had one child my husband unfortunately, passed away of a heart attack on New Year’s Eve of 2013 and 14. He had a Widowmaker, he was fine and then he was gone, so I know he didn’t suffer. He would not have been a very good Patient. Before I married my husband I worked in an office for about six years that was kept at 50° not for us the people, but for the computers. So I really don’t tolerate heat well. Take care of yourself and stay cool Kathy.
Cow's have the most beautiful eyes!❤❤❤❤. Thanks for explaining the process and for being genuinely gentle with her.
What a pretty brown cow. 🥰
Haha, your distraction device reminds me of a paint roller frame. 😂
And her saliva dripping out resembles white paint!! 😮🎉
Thank goodness for intelligent solid Veterinarians.
The distraction tool is amazing!
She’s a really pretty cow! Her color is so beautiful!!
😂 cow just smacking that “sugar cane” - keep em rolling 😂❤
The psychology surrounding peoples fascination with pustulence is deep indeed.
Love the metal pacifier.😊 Glad you explained about not using lidocaine. I know so many always ask. Great video with instant relief. 😊
Cheers Christine! Folks really needed to know!
@@EnochtheCowVet 😊
So if this were a deeper abscess, not so right at the surface taut, would you then use lignocaine, since there would be less pressure?
Thanks, love what you do!
If I was opening the skin and muscles over a deeper issue, yes, much like my other surgical videos. We were taught to treat abscesses exactly as you see me doing it here. Cheers!
Spectacular performance as always Enoch!!! I’m just so intrigued with everything you do and all that you know!!!
It’s always a great day when you post a video! I’ve learned so much from you! Much love from Oklahoma!!
It is so nice to see Bessie so relaxed during her procedure. 😊
Got to love those Canadian inventions.🇨🇦
Awe you took great care of her! You just knew what to do and I appreciate the care you’ve given her!
I can not believe how easy you made that look! You are a wonderful vet!
Good job DR, Enoch, you make it look easy.
You are so awesome! Love the way you work with animals so impressive.
Wow reminds me of giving my 1 year old a pacifier when I have to clip her nails 😂 big babies ❤
What a wonderful teacher. He seems like such a nice person. I’m wondering how many children he has if any and what his wife does. I know he’s from Colorado, but I’m wondering if she is from Australia. Just curious how I got to Australia.
Amazing wife, 4 awesome kids, came here 21 years ago for an adventure, found true love!
Thank you for answering. I’ve always wanted to go to New Zealand and Australia. I really enjoy your videos and I thank you for them.
Love the “Distraction” device. That is awesome!!
That distraction device is absolute genius. Have you ever tried it with a horse?
I tend to think it's not a good idea.
Sweet girl did so great!! I absolutely love her! 💜💜💜
Beautifully and wonderfully made, thank you, God ❤
That distraction tool worked way better than u would think
I watch the cow abscess videos all the time I've noticed you're the only one that flushes out the abscess after you drain it .
You should post more often my guy. Your videos be entertaining af lol
That paint roller works very well.
Hey friend. We LOVE your videos and learning so much. The biggest challenge is the wind.
Often, We cannot hear what you’re sharing. Can you use a wind sock on your mic while recording?
That would be so great.
Thanks for all you do!!
Man, those gorgeous toplines just have me in awe. Dont see near enough of those in California anymore...
That distraction tool is pretty amazing.
Lol, that pacifier thing works like a twitch on a horse! Never knew that before - cool.
Greetings from north Italy 🇮🇹 wonderful work
You had me at “cool beans”!
Well, that mouth loupe is a useful gadget.
Always a pleasure.
Easy peasy! The distractor made it easier!
You’re so funny!! Thanks for the abscesses!!🩵
Poor sweet baby you took good care of her!
This guy is a wealth of information.
good work , no pain
Lmao.. if this vet this doesn’t work out, I’ll be come a hair dresser”😂 best keep your day job 😜
Enoch, your sounding more like a 'Kiwi' every day (No offence intended). My daughter-in-law is from Missouri and she has the broadest of accents. But she's just started adding the word 'lovely' into her vernacularly. Not entirely sure how her parents feel about her being out here in the remote 'colonies'? Keep producing these wonderful and insightful videos. Best wishes from NZ
She's a clever cow she knows you what's going to happen ❤
The abcess drain very cool, the cow slobbering so gross.
Dr Enoch, you’re an awesome brother. Very knowledgeable, positive, good lookin, funny cowboy. I’ve learned so much. Now that you are The Man, please invest in a wind resistant microphone. We miss a lot due to the wind noise. You are famous now. Time to upgrade, bro 😎! You’re gonna be huge on U-tube. Like really big!! 🎉😊
I bought one finally!
Good mr. ...very nice 👍👍👍👍👍👍
That was nice to watch
Wow, that cow was really going! That was some froth!
I know you're probably tired of seeing this, but I do wish I could hear you better. I want to learn.
All kinds of cool beans.
Holy Cow.. I watched Otto Kitcher open a cow's abscess on 'The Last Frontier'. Shocking then & still shocks me now.
Fascinating
Hello from IL 👋 🐄
Hmm...i wonder if something like that distraction thing would work for horses...??
I have to get one of those metal rods for my sister!
From other vids, sometimes these contain fibrous masses. How does the puss form that material? Or are they the result of something else like coagulated blood proteins? I also like the volume dilution with betadine. I see some just push in hydrogen peroxide. Kills stuff but doesn’t flush the cavity. Thank you.
The clotted crud is usually just that...the remnants of a clot. Loads of fibrinogen which doesnt really break down well.
Cool beans!! 😮🎉
Of course I love each and every video Enoch. But I wonder why the ranchers dont handle more of this themselves? Round here todays video would not have required vet.
I was there AIing 150 cows, I never get called out for an abscess. Cheers!
Ahhhh, that makes perfect sense! Thank you Enoch. 💜👍💜
Hi Doc. What breed of cow is she ? She looks like a jersey, but I know that I can always be wrong. You and your team are awesome, y’all stay safe and blessed !!!
Never thought I’d hear a vet use a phrase describing the dumping of nuclear waste in the ocean to refer to an abscess (Re: the solution for pollution is dilution. for those who don’t know, that was the actual mindset regarding nuclear waste disposal)
Wow! I reckon they stole that from the medical field!
Got to love a good lump!❤
That distraction device looks a lot like the handles that you put paintrollers on
Blessings From Texas🤠
Another win
Strawberry milkshake 🥤
That mouthing tool is a great distraction device
Indeed!
New drinking game! Drink every time he says "cool beans"!
GREAT !
POOR BABY I BET THAT HURTS
Now you know the cow was say; just the thought of that metal thing gets me slobbering. Lol
Why do I like to watch this videos?
Hola hermoso ❤ desde Argentina saludos 😊
This old cowboy would wear gloves with that stuff....leaking
I miss doctoring...
Cool beans
Holy cow
Well...she is now... lol
COOL BEANS! In the event of an emergency, can you use that meloxicam on a human? I use that for arthritis as a tablet, but I know what it’s for.
Enoch’s always the best.
Cute vet.
Matrato aminal
Enoc (el hombre liga )the cow vet
Sie bemühen sich zumindest, die Kuh abzulenken und sie dadurch weniger leiden zu lassen. Good Farmer.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
A LIGAR😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Enoch, you said wounds heal side to side. Is that the case for all anamals?
Yep!
As long as the edges are close together. The point of stitches in the skin is basically to hold the edges together while they heal. But if there's a big, wide hole - like from an ulcer or a bad burn - that heals more from the bottom up to the surface.
@EnochtheCowVet thanks!! Amazingly efficient!!
@@heatherexcell3078 Thanks for the follow-up! Super interesting!
Such a pretty girl
Brasil ❤😊
👍😊
Distraction works on humans too!
Commonly used by botox technicians and physicians
Es gibt ja verschiedene Videos, hier war es für die Kuh eher schonend 👍
Why is she so obsessed with that piece of metal? It can’t taste good yet she’s completely obsessed with it. I’ve never seen a cow so oblivious to an incision before; whoever made that thing is going to make a mint selling it to ranchers, farmers, and vets!
Google Easy Boss E, Don Finlay is the nicest guy (and vet) you could imagine!
Just out of curiosity what made you leave the states and go down under
Love
what a beautiful girl! truly gorgeous.
