Brestegne or any other cinnamon-based cookie works really well in Banoffee. Also, if you want to spice it up a little, raspberries are awesome with the banana!
I'm from Mexico and I first tried banoffe in Windermere, the whole experience was magical since I was touring Beatrix Potter's surroundings. I fell in love with it and was the delighted to find the recipe is quite simple. This is a gift from England to the world, the best pie I've ever had!! 🍌💕
I want so much to make this recipe (Video), but unfortunately I couldnt understad when she mentions the pecans for the top. (rinse the pecans in water, aftter that put it in a bowl with ice and sugar, then bake for 15 minutes) is that? ( could someone tell me exactly what to do? I apoligize for my poor english, as it is not my first language). I Than you in advance, as I am looking forward to make this recipe!. Can't wait!. 😍
@@IsaMGFaria it's fine honey! English is not my first language either.. step1= rising the pecans in cold water step2= then put them in a bowl of icing sugar. step3=then bake them at 180°C for 15mins.
@@wajihanadim711 I can't thank you enough!. It's so kind of you!. Now it;s so eady to undertand. I thought the Lady in this Video meant "Ice and sugar". How could I think something like that!? lol. I will make this Banoffee Pie for the New Years Eve. I love Baofee Pie, but never tried before with Pecans. I am sure I will love it!!. Thanks my friend! I wish you and your loved ones a very Happy New Year!. ♬•♡ ☆‿.•*´☆ ♡• ♬
Hi Jemma! Thanks for the recipes you give us, they are so delicious and easy to follow! You are so nice and sweet, just like them :) I would love to see a recipe for sugar free baked goods. In my family there are a few people who have diabetes and they have such a sad look in their eyes when it comes to desert time during family gatherings. There are diet puddings and such, but they certainly don't look or taste as good as these cupcakes, cookies and pies! Thank you! :*
Banoffee pie rocks! Thanks for the video:) I make mine with speculoos, brown sugar and butter for the base, home made salty caramel sauce, caramelized and flambées bananas with rum and mascarpone chantilly, I swear to you it rocks!
Tried this out and it came out perfectly -- everyone raved over it 😊 Thanks for this recipe! Is it possible to cut the boiling time by placing the condensed milk tin in a pressure cooker?
Would be dangerous. You can just get a readymade dolce de leche tin by Carnation. Just noticed you comment is 5 yrs old. So probably you have figured it out by now 😬
@@ashmash4563 haha I haven't. Haven't been brave enough to attempt it in the pressure cooker because of an innate fear of pressure cookers lol. We don't have store bought/ready made dulce de leche in our part of the world unfortunately
@@a___i___a_____i-j7dI make a toffee filling to go in mine. 150g butter, 150g caster sugar, 1 tin condensed milk. Put into a saucepan and heat gently, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil, stirring all the time and simmer for 5 minutes. Pour into the base and let set. It gets really chewy and is MUCH better than this canned caramel stuff.
I recently made the scones so... I don't really plan on actually making the recipes but then on the weekend suddenly it hits me and I start baking. But for the most part I just watch and learn ;)
Personally I would like it better if there were more bananas and dulce de leche because I don't really like cream that much. Anyway, GREAT RECIPE!!! I will try it.😊
Oh wow, I never, ever heard of this dessert before. It certainly looks and sounds yummy. I would however substitute the banana for another fruit (maybe mangoes) because I don't particularly like bananas and definitely NOT in desserts. Everything else is a keeper for me. Dulce de Leche is so yummy! Being Hispanic myself, I can guarantee that! Thanks for sharing :)
Hello Jemma, could you please please please create a cupcake that includes blueberries and lemons/lemon curd. I love that combination, especially for the summer. That would be awesome! Huge fan of you!!
Jemma, I'm counting the days until autumn because then I'll be in London for three months and will feast in your shop as often as I can possibly afford!
Is it possible to get the the pie out of the tin right away (if you'd like to eat it right away) or do you have to put it in the fridge for a couple of hours still?
thanks for the clarification about bananas and coffee, because I did think Banoffee meant bananas and toffee, dulce, caramel. I swear, British double cream has to be the most fantastic ingredient ever for desserts. thanks!
Hi Jemma! You are my baking idol!!! Just a question, Even when I bake my graham crusts for as long as I can in the oven, by the second day, they turn soggy and lose their structure :( I had to make 4 huge banoffee pies the other day and I had no choice but to deliver on the second day. By the time my friend got it, it was all falling apart and couldn't be cut. So disapointing :((( How do bakeries do graham crusts? Since they stay in the display over days. Thanks Jemma!
+angelikaqi Yeah that should withstand being out that long. the cut bananas could turn brown if they aren't covered so this is a dessert you want to make either the day before you throw a party or the day of. you probably won't have to worry about it being out that long cause people are going to eat it right up! ;)
who else is fasting and regretting watching both Jemma and Gemma's pie videos? I know what I'm eating for iftar ;)
I'm watching this at midnight but I'm going to treat myself to some for iftaar tomorrow!
Same!!
same here haha I'm about to watch Gemma's video now anyway lol
Literally ME 🙋🙋🙋🙋🙋🙋🙋
wonderful idea
Does anybody else really love the way Jemma twists the piping bag?
And once again Jemma amazes us with her baking skills 🍰
thanks to zoella, i am now obsessed with your videos. you are such a

Both Jemma & Gemma uploaded such delish pie recipes. 😍😍 I feel like making these this weekend.
I agree. I love both of them.
Weekly therapy right here
My 3 year old and I love watching your videos. Thanks

This recipe really works amazingly. My husband kept complimenting after he ate my banoffee pie (of course, from this recipe).
I literally love making this recipe! Tastes so good

I cannot wait to try this! I've been keeping an eye out for a good Banoffie pie for ages and Jemma's recipes have yet to let me down😊

This is probably one of the easiest recipes posted that requires the least amount of time. It's great!
I love how she says "buttery biscuit base" so fast and in such an excited voice xD
I'm American and I always check when you make new vids.

I must say Jemma that you have such patients for such tedious work (arranging all those banana slices). Another masterpiece. Thanks for sharing :*
I used your pecany biscuit base and poured How To Cook That's mocha cremeux over it. It was heavenly! Love your channel :D
Well done you for saying the words 'buttery biscuit base' without lapsing into a rendition of that song... which is now stuck in my head.
Who else watches baking videos but never makes them ? 😂
That's me right here
Me. I love seeing beautiful cakes but I never bake lol.

I love banoffee pie but never used pecans for the base. I definately will try this recipe!!
I've not had banoffee pie in so long... Now I have the perfect excuse to make this! Thanks for sharing the recipe Jemma
Whipping the cream by hand...that's hard work. Looks delicious.
in Russia we call dulce de leche - boiled condensed milk, just like that:) it's really yummy tho, and seems less sweet and more creamy
i want to be russian lol
In Chile we call it "MANJAR".
Hi Jemma! I love the way you say dulce de leche! kinds regards from Barcelona!!
Looks amazing as always Jemma! 😍
I see you everywhere !!!
otaku chicken IKR!! And ironically often on Gemma's channel :P
I made this last year for my birthday, so delicious! So I’m making it for my birthday this year as well😄
Looks so yummy!! A great video Jemma xx
I made this for a thanksgiving dinner and it was the most popular dessert!!! Woohoo how can you beat dulce de leche
I LOVE your videos and your an amazing cook!!!!! just wondering if you could do raspberry or vanilla macaroons?!?!?!?! :)
Personally I would like it better if there were more bananas and dulce de leche because I don't really like cream that much. Anyway, GREAT RECIPE!!! I will try it.😊
Yum! I use gingernut biscuits in the base when I make mine. So good!
I made this but used a mix is strawberries & mangoes instead of banana. Turned out great!!

it's interesting that you thought it was american- it's virtually unheard of in america. i only know about it from watching british cooking shows!
I love Banoffee cookies, so I'm sure I'll love this!
Hello Jemma, could you please please please create a cupcake that includes blueberries and lemons/lemon curd. I love that combination, especially for the summer. That would be awesome! Huge fan of you!!

Thank you so much for this recipe. I shall be trying this next week at my dinner party.
oh Jemma... YOU are a winner.
Do you Sprinkle lemon juice on the banana so that it doesn't brown from oxidation?
You inspire me so much I'm from South Africa love you 🌸
Hiii Jemma 😊 I tried this and it was amazing .. but the only problem was .. the banana part started watering .. what do I do bout it ?
Is it possible to get the the pie out of the tin right away (if you'd like to eat it right away) or do you have to put it in the fridge for a couple of hours still?
Yum!!! Looks so delicious! I've never heard of Banoffee pie before, can't wait to try this some day :)

thanks for the clarification about bananas and coffee, because I did think Banoffee meant bananas and toffee, dulce, caramel. I swear, British double cream has to be the most fantastic ingredient ever for desserts. thanks!
OMG! I love all your recipes ☺☺☺
Looks incredible!
hi, I have a really important question: do you ever make chiffon cakes and if you do what temperature and what pan or pans?
Hi Jemma! You are my baking idol!!! Did you keep the pies in the fridge? I think youre supposed to keep it in the fridge (and in the tin) right up until you serve them.
How do you make such amazing food i can only wish to be half as good as you goshh
amazing i have to try it soooooooooon!! luv you Jemma, from Saud Arabia :*
That looks SO GOOD
My husband is from England and makes this pie. She does it a little differently, so I sent this to him.

Mmm OMG that looks so good.
I like it! Simple recipe - looks amazing! :)
Thank you very much! What size of yours tin?
This looks amazing!💗
This looks sooo yummy!
I've never seen this before! 😮 I'd like to know how long can this last outside? I'll likely need to bring it out to share 😁
Probably 2 hours max, that fresh whipped cream won't last long outside of refrigeration. Hope that helps!
+Heavy Metal Line Cook thanks! Can the caramelised milk last two hours outside as well? Im assuming it to be less liquidity after refrigerating.
+angelikaqi Yeah that should withstand being out that long. the cut bananas could turn brown if they aren't covered so this is a dessert you want to make either the day before you throw a party or the day of. you probably won't have to worry about it being out that long cause people are going to eat it right up! ;)
Never knew all that about banoffee pie, looks like a quick dessert with lots of flavour. Thank You Jemma.
