Really loving these 'IRL Racing & racing life' videos dude. And THANK YOU for always having CC's on. It's the difference between getting to experience something and of missing out totally for those of us who are deaf.
You know what? I think you've learned a lot about consistency and when to battle from sim racing. So even if the sims didn't get across one hundred percent of the physics, you still got something out of all that play time.
@@Eat-MyGoal Of course the car and tyre models aren't 100% accurate and the physicality of actual racing isn't simulated, at all. However, you obviously do learn a lot about how to drive fast on track through sims, because otherwise Jimmy and Steve wouldn't be doing as well as they are. Racecraft might actually translate the best, but the fundamentals of handling a car near the limit do translate, as well. Surely not 1:1, but significantly enough to help a lot. Obviously, I drive in sims (just for fun) and I have learned so much about weight transfer and how to handle under- and oversteer. Doesn't make me a racer, but surely a better real-life driver, overall.
Most professional racers (f1, gt3, etc) I've heard say that the popular sims all pretty much perfectly simulate how a car behaves in a physical sense, but the hardest thing to replicate is all the tiny details about how the car feels in your hands; what little noises and bumps tell you about grip and the road and whatnot
Exactly, as someone who has played on time attack servers with multiclass rivals on assetto corsa I can absolutely relate about 90% of what super gt has said here.
Nice, smooth driving SuperGT. This was an ASMR session for me. Congrats again for having been able to race in the Nurburgring. Stay safe and I hope you win the races to come.
I think this might be one of your greatest videos to date. You commentated this amazingly and drove flawless regardless of being a practice session. I’m praying for big things Steve, you really earned this opportunity 🙏🏻
Steve you've made me realise what my purpose might be in life, I really wanna start karting and hopefully be a gt3 driver one day, currently at college and will do a motorsport course next year and will try to get any licences I need when I get the money to make a start in my goal. keep it up you're a huge inspiration 🙌
I wish you all the best. Becoming a race car driver takes a lot of talent and dedication. Unfortunately, it also usually takes A LOT of money. Maybe you can build an online following, too, so that you become more attractive to teams from a marketing perspective. Best of luck to you!
@@ArgueWithTheMajority thank you, I know, unfortunately, the easiest way to progress is with money which I don't have loads of but I like to think I am dedicated enough to make it happen and I have considered filming kart races when I start
Misha: already did basically a cinematic of the entire race weekend in one video Super GT: here's a 25 minute on just practice That's not supposed to be a jab if anything I like it more comprehensive like this.

When this whole adventure is all said and done I would love to see all your vids compiled into one long one. Would be a very nice bedtime chill. I haven’t been so invested in someone’s journey like this in a long time. It’s always a pleasure to watch your content.
Of all your videos, this one with you really there and solo in the car was the best. Couldn’t stop watching each corner that we all know so well - in our virtual machines.
These videos have been exceptional, Steve. Great footage. Simple informative voiceovers. No flashy editing. Just the lap and everything we'd want to know. Appreciate it!
So dope that you got to drive around the GP part of the circuit. Unironically my favorite part of the Nurburgring and arguably my favorite circuit period.
I stumbled upon your channel about 2 months ago, and I feel like I'm watching something amazing start to happen. This time next year, who knows what class of racing you will compete in. This is exciting. As for this video, wow good job!
All the best to you, Jimmy and Mischa. Been great watching you over the years. Your videos gave me the urge to get into gt7 online and I love it. Learned alot from watching you race. Will for sure be following your journey.
I can only imagine the temptation to constantly look around in awe at getting to drive "The 'Ring" at speed like this - except I'd actually give in to that temptation and inevitably end up crashing. I guess the ability to block that out and concentrate on driving is what separates racers like Steve from fans like myself, but man.. What a place.
Whatever your driving's like your commentaries are always articulate and interesting there Steve. And with a good, clear continuous view of what's going on your giving one of the best track experiences for sim or real...don't get too greedy and do a Misha..;)
I drove the Nurburgring last summer in a prepped Golf R and I agree that faster traffic is the biggest challenge. I didn’t want to ruin someone’s fast lap.
Super being super all over again. It is great to see racing from you perspective and you define what your doing very calmly without over emotionalizing everything for drama. Have watched plenty of your racing videos even though I am not a car game guy. Be safe and know as much as you can for good decisions seems to be the wisdom i learn from you. Look forward to the live race God bless and have a wonderful day.

Hello Steve, German viewer here. Just as a little heads up, „Langstrecke“ does not really translates to „endurance“ but to „long-track“. German viewer out and I’ll catch you next time.
I think one thing NLS is underappreciated for is that you can actually win the whole championship with the slowest car on the grid. Each car on the Top 7 of each category gets points (15, 11, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2), but if your category has only two cars, you get points as if you finished P6 and P7. Therefore, in terms of winning the championship, it doesn't matter how fast a GT3 is compared to your BMW 330i, it only matters how fast and consistent you are inside your own class.
17:40 exactly what happened to Norris and Russel. You lose sense of track when you follow someone, suddenly they turn and leave you to understeer into the wall.
18:19 when you don't want the car behind to do a late dive or otherwise they'll force you to make a very compromised line into the corner (or into the wall god forbid).
Thank you so much for this @Super_GT for this video. How similar does this feel to driving this in GT7? Has your experience of driving this track in GT7 helped you around the track?
Frikadelli will be at NLS 8 again with a Brandnew 296GT as the 24h winning car is already in the museum :) Although David won two NLS races on the Falken Porsche I'm happy to see him in the Ferrari again!
This is the first time I've noticed the odometer on the car! Almost 30,000km. I thought it was a new car. Impressive. Also 10:51 would've been my reaction too Steve lol
Quite a few stages before. Production spec to TCR, GT4, 992 Cup. And finally GT3 or even GTX with the KTM GT2. Though I imagine they won't have to go through all of them. Maybe just a middle stepp like GT4 before GT3. Either way let's enjoy the challenges of the present.
I tried VR for the first time a few days ago at a VR Sim place, almost exactly like this , (different car different track) also brilliant I’ve been wondering where the pit entrance and exit for this track were, also 200 Laps plus all the others you’ve done , definitely shows in your skill in handling the car.
