Congrats! I expected you meeting Misha at one point after his donation and "invitation" on your 200 Laps of the NOS, but never expected that. It's great to see someone I watched Gran Turismo Videos for so long, on the real Track.
This is literally so inspirational man! Watching you winning races in GT7 and doing karting once in a while, it’s unbelievable to see that you actually have a ring permit now! You won’t believe how inspiring this is to many people around the world. You proved that you can race around the greatest track in the world, even if you start racing in a sim! CONGRATS STEVE!! KEEP THE SCOTT CHEGG ENERGY IN YOU!!
Wow, you’ve come a long way from the Club 100 Karting when I first started watching you channel. It’s been an amazing experience seeing your journey and look forward to the new ones just waiting over your horizon. Congratulations and well done Steve.
And please, pretty please with a cherry on top, get a full onboard lap next time! It's really nice to hear you comment on your own lap. Very educational!
Steve, Huge congrats man. Long time viewer. It is amazing watching you grow. You're going places man. Keep it up. Between the sim racing, cart racing the charity 200 laps and all you've done. You're a huge inspiration to myself and others and even help some of us get through our days. Thank you! Good luck and keep winning on track and in life mate. 🎉❤😊
Mate, you went from sim racing in the nordschleife to actually being there! I’ve seen your videos for a while now, so I got used to seeing you in the gaming chair. I’m mesmerized by your passion. Huge respect.
STEVE! Man Congratulations!🎉 Just wanted to say you’re awesome dude, love your personality and humor. I recently had some tough medical news and an unfavorable diagnosis. Your videos gave me joy everyday and make me stronger in a lot of ways. Even though it might seem silly, I feel like you’re a good friend I’ve known for years. You da man keep being a legend on the track you inspire me to be better! and Cheers from illinois USA ! ❤
As someone who only ever gets to drive these courses in sims..this video was a pleasure to watch. Lol. You're quite literally "living the dream," and documenting the process. Congrats on passing the licensure program! Awesome content, as usual.
1:22 ! Totaly agree. I learned the track on Assetto Corsa. On screen, without your FOV properly adjusted, you totaly miss the elevation changes. In VR, you see more of it. But what is really astonishing is when you stop your car at some places (Ex-Mühle) and step down the car and walk on the tar. (yes, in VR, you can do that !) You're standing up, look around and you're like "F...G hell, this is steep" I wish you all the best for your upcoming race this week-end. You're doing a nice trio and I'm sure Misha teaches you all his secrets.
As a long time viewer let me just say I’m really proud of how much you’ve done and this is such a big accomplishment. You are in the big leagues now and I couldn’t be happier to have been along for the ride
Enjoying your journey vicariously. Wishing you best of British Luck. Done many laps at Nordschleife myself in a variety of machines, and it never gets old. When the weather changes, the track evolves, the cars put rubber down, the track evolves, your tyres get to temperature, everything changes, it's a constant battle to find the limit of safely lapping.. great great fun, and you'll have a blast. Enjoy & I hope you succeed!
This is so cool. You are truly an inspiration. Going from Gran Turismo to Real Life Racing. Doing what you are doing now is a dream of mine and its so cool to see that it is possible. Can't wait for a Gran Turismo movie to be made about you lol. Keep up the good work Scott Chegg and don't go knocking on Barry R's door.
I think what makes Gran Turismo special is the sheer quality of it all, especially in VR. To race those cars and tracks in real life would be considerably more expensive than a video game.
So proud of you, absolutely love to see it!! Seeing you go from a Sim Driver who uploads casual and funny content to a real life Racing Driver is just insane! Well done, you deserve it, cheers to many P6 finishes.
Long ago I used to fly flight sims on prehistoric computers with just a few pixels representing the airplanes. As the sims got better and more realistic, my "flight" experiences made it seem as if I could really fly a real airplane. However, when I eventually stepped up and started taking flying lessons and flew real aircraft, I soon learned that sims can only do so much to simulate the actual experience. I have driven thousands of laps around the Nordschleife in the GT series and it feels like I know every turn, bump, curb and hill. How does it compare to the real thing? I can't tell you that, but I do know that if the transition from sim to real is the same on the track as it was for me in a airplane, I can only imagine the thrill it must have been to actually race the real track, and that the sensations must have been ten times more exciting than anything a sim could replicate. Congrats on your license!
Really happy to see you going through this experience. I love it because it's a behind the scenes of what can go to on to race the Nordschleife, but it's just great to see you taking your sim skills and actually bringing them into real life.
Dude this is awesome. Just amazing. The things youre acheiving and have already achieved like with your charity of building school houses and such is just amazing
Awesome video and happy to see you and Jimmer, Misha getting race drivers! Btw. David Pittard is such an awesome driver and person 👍 Have fun and good luck!
Some very good points you brought up about the visibility inside at the end of your 7 laps. One simple solution would be that they use a darker color like black or even go to a completely non reflective material on the rear deck lid like carpet. And the right side mirror was certainly useless as well.
The Holy Grail of racing license But also the hardest one to keep One Yellow zone infrigement is usually enough to get it confiscated. *Stay safe, brother*
Wonderful job Steve! Looked quite intens with the GT3 and GT4 classes flying by left and right. So cool to see your experience via online racing though. You really have a good understanding of what’s happening on track, and it shows!! Great.
I watch all three of you and I think you all deserve this opportunity. Sim racing is fun to watch but this is on another level. Can't wait to the next one👍👍👍
I'm truly (Sorry for CapsL) HAPPY FOR YOU 🙂 You have come such a long way. I remember watching your earliest Karting videos and how, not sad but maybe more frustrated over you had to stop due to economy. The same with Jimbo but I'm more happy for you mate. I've followed you since the early Forca vids and Im still disappointed you quit Dirt 4 gameplay😅
You are a legend, you should get other racing circuit licenses from around the world after you win in the Nurburgring race tack so you’ll be a true Gran Turismo racer without losing and getting into an accident.
This is one of the most interesting adventures documented to follow! Really cool stuff! Looking forward to the upcoming videos and updates! Better than F1.
I think the closest I'll ever get to this is with GT7 - with simhub for speed simulation (wind), bass shakers, Arduino gear shift and rev counter, and PSVR 2. It's a good experience, but you can't 'feel' it properly. It does give you a better idea of the bumps and elevation than flat screen with a controller though.

Congrats man . Can’t wait to see some race footage. Ur living the dream , good luck
