Really tough to find this kind of content about endurance reacing. Awesome job man, well explained, and we can tell that you are excited watching these clips (even though I guess you watched them like a 100 times before). Would love to see Kevin Estres reaction to this video.
"WIR MACHEN DRUCK" on that Ferrari's back is a german word play. It's Wochenspiegel Ferrari and Wochenspiegel is a german newspaper. "Druck" in german means "print" and also "pressure". So you can translate it to: "We put on the pressure." but it also means "We do printing (newspapers)." Just in case anybody wanna know. :D BTW.. I never saw somebody so passionately commenting and choosing so well fitting video footage from our 24h race. As a german I salute you. Thanks so much for taking us on a hell of a ride with you :)
Ah! Thanks for this. I know a little German but I didn't understand the play on words, thats great! Also, thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate it
*footnote* For those more interested in the issues with the 992 that I alluded to in the intro: After a couple races Porsche actually told teams running the 992 to turn off their ABS and TC systems due to faulty wheel speed sensors. Although not officially confirmed, Porsche mentioned to some reporters that these issues had been resolved for the N24. However, I like to turn up the volume of the onboards during pit stops to hear what the drivers are saying to each other and during final practice I overheard Kevin Estre talking to Michael Christiansen. He said "you need to be careful on attack" because the rear tires lock up on initial application. Pure speculation, but I wonder if this meant that the ABS issues still weren't fully resolved and the rear tire lock up was increasing the rear tire wear and increasing the likelihood of punctures. P.S. Love you guys, hope you enjoyed!
You may be correct but I could imagine Manthey would be the first to receive the new Wheel sensors as they are pretty much a factory team . they run low ABS for the best lap times as the ABS can extend braking zones. They were struggling with the rears locking on down shifts which damage the gearbox but they can’t move the brake balance forward due to the lack of weight
@@The_Devil_Riser you'd likento think so but manthey was one of the last teams to get a 992 Because they build them doesnt mean they get the first chassis
@@km6832 you might be right but Manthey was also literally the first one to drive the 992 in a competitive setting - last year at one of the NLS races, Manthey ran a 992 as a test before it was even delivered to anyone else
@@km6832 I’m not talking about chassis I’m talking about replacement sensors , due to the fact they were running n24 and they are owned by Porsche I would imagine they were the test subjects of the new sensors
This video shows exactly why I love the 24h Nürburgring Race so much. You know Kevin Estre will put up a show. I watched the Grello onboard the whole race and it was amazing when Estre drove a 8:11 in his second stint at night. He is really one of the bests on the Nordschleife and so much fun to watch. What a shame they had to retire the car but it was the right decision. I'm already looking forward to next year.
He is by far the fastest guy out there but is so unlucky in his results sometimes. Reminds me of Maxime Martin in his prime with BMW Z4 who was the best driver in the whole field and always is spectacular to watch. You just have to love it.
What I love about Kevin Estre is that he takes big risks, but is cautious while doing so. He always brakes early enough to avoid crashes, but lets the brake fade to attack for an overtake. His judgement of the situation, the race craft, the knowledge where his and the opponent cars are positioned, these things are just incredible to watch. Calm and collective, yet aggressive, an awesome racer
I love watching him too, but I see more DNF's from him. I get his charm and success come from gong 10/10ths when others are only willing to drive 9/10th's.... but I can't help but think if he could drive 9.5/10ths he'd see more checkered flags.
Man your commentary is so enjoyable, earned a sub from me. These kinds of videos also make me want to get into endurance racing more, starting to pick up on it slowlz. Estre was such a beast on track, these Nordschleife onboards are insaneee. Looking forward to Le Mans!
Awesome vid mate . Your channel has been improving so much and it's honestly one of the best endurance racing content out there . Estre will be back in the grello for the 24h of spa so i hope to see him again on this channel soon . Keep up the good work 💪
Thats the thing with cars who make their laptime on the straights compared to the corners, as long as its still reasonably driveable its way way easier! You can just make yourself wide in the corners and then just drive past others on the straights. Using superior grip to overtake in corners or in braking zones is much harder. And your videos are great btw, i really love that more detailed focus on certain cars or drivers, often in races these storys tend to get missed because there is so much going on at the same time.
This gives so much more context than I got during the race! Was so disappointed with their qualifying and how they crashed out again, but now I understand. Those onboards are so sick, Estre is a beast, taking every little chance he gets!
I was gonna comment how great your commentary is and to keep up the good work but then I saw Kevin commenting the same thing. So by now you know, you are doing great. 👏👏👏
Max Verstappen the GOAT? No. Lewis Hamilton the GOAT? no. Its mister Kevin Estre. Im just joking, you cant compare endurance drivers with f1 drivers. But in my heart, Kevin is the GOAT
Well Estre is in the WEC racing in the hypercar class with multiple F1 drivers. Even a world champion with Jenson Button in one of the Jotas. So a comparison can be made.
And GT racing is basically a thing about track too due to the not so much configuration friendly layout of those cars. F1 cars get modified in terms of suspension, aerodynamics and tyre pressure per track. Meanwhile on GT cars, maybe a little aerodynamic, suspension and Tyre pressure but not more
I watched 24h of Nürburgring in the year 2018 for the first time and sticked to it since then. I love Manthey Racing and the Grello. It´s almost certain that the Grello is involved in the greatest battles on track.
My heart was pumping like crazy as if I was behind the wheel of this magnificent Porsche... Also, your narration was fantastic, man. I tip my hat to you for it made it ever more engaging. 😎
What a driver. He pushed so hard, I don't think anyone can blame him for that slide. His heart was in it. We all could agree that he won simply by putting his soul into it 110
That was one of the best race analyzes I've seen since quite a time. Awesome! And great commenting. N24 should hire you for 2025!! Was enjyoing it several times :) And no doubt about that: Kevin is such a machine! His constant situational awareness during each race is just mind blowing. Breaking less enough to get an advantage and early enough to not cause an accident. Taking risks but never risking too much. He always has a sense where his opponents are, how fast they are, what they do etc. Thats superhuman if you ask me! One of the big talents of all time in my opinion!
Completely expected to click away from this video before I started watching. But WOW well done! Can't wait to see how much you grow with these types of videos!

@@EdDeezNuts944Well... I think that you can't really compare them. Driving in F1 is a different way of driving compared to rally or endurance racing. But there is no doubt that either Max or Alonso would be in that top 5
@@EdDeezNuts944 definitely not. F1 drivers are great but u can't compare any of those. R Schuhmacher never had a chance in DTM like all the other F1 drivers in DTM. Formula Racing is whole different typ. WRC Drivers are imo the most complete but they wouldn't do anything against Estre on the Nordschleife. F1 isn't the hardest Motorsport its just the one with the best marketing
Subscribed man, do more of these. super entertaining!
Took me a second too realise you actually said “Falken tyre Porsche”. 😂
…il be honest. I thought you said something else! 🤦🏻♂️😂
Kevin NEVER fails too entertain!
He showcases just how far these car can be pushed!… but then again, He is by no means a mere mortal like the rest of us!
I love your commentary! Easiest sub I’ve given in a while! 🤜🤛

Dude came out of the straight away like a bat out of hell, no fear!

Super entertaining commentary, really got the drama up and made this a very good watch. I usually can't stand US commentary but yours was great
