Thank you for explaining all this. I was admitted into hospital in Blast Crisis almost exactly a year ago. I had FLA-IDA chemotherapy that was successful after 1 round but got fungal pneumonia and ended up in ICU for 10 days. Eventually allowed home after 7 weeks on masses of prophylactics and TKI . Later a couple of infections that were swiftly dealt with. Today I go in to begin my conditioning treatment (minus RT as I'm an older patient) and begin my road to Stem Cell Transplant. I'm a bit scared but excited too! It's going to be a trip.
I learned so much from your video. As a 4 yr CML patient, this helps me understand what it is but yet I have not reached MMR. So I still have questions to why? I'll continue my fight and also further research, thank you so much for getting this boulder rolling.
This was very well done my cancer doc took the time to explain my cml to me but not to this degree. Next time I see him I will tell him about this channel. Him may recommend this to his patients.
I can only wish I had you as my professor. However, I am blessed to be able to watch your lectures and learn an immense amount of info that I could not with the instructors at my school who are getting paid thousands smh 🤦🏻♀
I love these lectures. He’s helping me understand what my husband died of. The doctors didn’t know and I got a vague dx after his death. It took weeks to get spinal fluid and bone marrow test results. Thanks to the lecturer for this information. As I review all the medical records, his explanations really help me.
Mine too- maybe now I'll learn what his doctors who were bound by HIPPA failed to explain at his death. You see, I didn't even realize he was THAT SICK, He told ME the doctors put him on a strict diet because of Obesity. And I was a good little wife, I Believed Him, because I wasn't raised to question. So Death freed Me to be What GOD created Me to Be, A STRONG WOMAN. 😊
Hi, I want to thank you for this video and explanations. I have CML since 11 years. This is the best explanation of the mechanism sickness i ve seen and i learned new things.
i should be really thankful for you to making these topics really simple, highlighting the important points. these videos are being really helpful for me in managing patients in hospital set up. Thank you so much. great job... Keep it up.
After watching videos from various sources and struggling since several months to understand this...I finally got the perfect video just before my exam😅 from which I could understand this topic..❤❤❤
My fiancee had a bone marrow biopsy and aspiration done. The flow cytometrey results read. What does this mean? Blast Gate (8.6%): 1.4% of CD34+ and/or CD117+ myeloblasts are present. 5.5% of immature B lymphocytes, positive for CD19/CD10 with variable expression of CD20, most consistent with B-hematogones. Monocyte Gate (2.8%): 2.8% of mature monocytes, positive for CD33, CD13, CD11b, CD11c, CD64, and CD14 are identified.
thank you. what a great video. my mind has been blown once again with this lecture.... I have worked in a hematology outpatient very very little. Now I understand this better. You're so good at making things easy to understand.I'm worried about multiple symptoms, thalamic hemorrhage,35%.Is there a way to align the nucleotide bases?you are a famous youtuber!
Thank you so much! Great lecture! My question is if the bone marrow has Philadelphia chromosome 55% IS what stage of CML would a patient be treated with TKIs? What phase does this represent for CML?
Is there any new update by WHO that the accelerated phase has been removed...?... Cause recently i presented this topic in my med school... My teacher said there's no accelerated phase anymore...
When I graduate from medical school I am gonna say that I have graduated from this channel, because without it I would have never made it.
