It seems like he genuinely gets along with, and respects, his writers. It must have felt so good for these two writers to see Jon physically react to their jokes, and his laughter was absolutely real here. It reminds me a lot of how Conan interacted with his writers, too, if you've ever seen some of the behind-the-scenes videos that Conan has uploaded to his channel.

There's not enough Jon Stewart level jokes to cover the constant barrage of insanity that has stemmed from the last 4 years, hence why you saw Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, even Trevor Noah run dry of funny shit after a year.
Too bad he couldn't get any rest and has felt compelled to fight for veteran and first responders rights to healthcare that sunsets every few years and the bureaucrats are still fighting to deny the chemicals at ground zero caused the illnesses.
