You have a great point, but people forget what the #1 problem really is!
DEMOCRATS believe in gov't and trying to make gov't work well and improve people's lives.
REPUBLICANS believe gov't is the problem and should get out of the way.
When democrats are in control of the gov't, they place people in charge that want things to work correctly, improve the system, and help people.
When republicans are in charge of gov't, they place people in charge that has actively worked against gov't, worked for private companies that profit off gov't, or people that only qualifications are they are rich.
The United States used to conduct studies and research on everything, but the republican party decided to kill gov't because of their position of protecting the 1%'ers. (SIDE NOTE: remember when MITCH was holding up legislature on COVID payment to the American people until he got immunity for businesses for people getting sick on their jobs due to the jobs not taking precautions) The republicans have killed all studies and research that was conducted in any agencies (EPA, FDA, FAA, medical, VA: ever wonder how you can walk into any drugstore and see hundreds of different types of pills on the shelves, but when you read the bottle, it says NOT approved by the FDA, especially all those health supplements)

Sadly, if money can be made off war, wars will continue to happen. That's the disturbing truth.
Of course, anybody with a thinking brain and anybody with an ounce of compassion knows that there is no such thing as a just war.
But we know the X factor - money/profit. So, logically... we need to establish a new system that doesn't prioritize money/profit over people. Put people first: Medicare For All, Housing For All, UBI. That is a path forward.
Almost anything else will just continue to be a frustrating spinning of wheels.

@@MrJJacks7 There might be an additional 'topping' on why a group/nation says they are going to war, but if there is money to be made, war is about money, power and definitely control of resources (which, unfortunately, money is a resource in modern economies).
It is misleading and widely untrue that people were joining together to kill each other since humans were hunter-gatherers with no concept of money. We would simply not be here to have this discussion if our early human nature was to kill each other for no good reason. There was far too few of us and far too much at stake for us to build a society on wealth accumulation, social status, power and regular conflict. We survived 99% of human history as egalitarian hunter-gatherers with no money or markets. The occasional individual disputes were there, sure, but no where even close to the complete reckless indifference we see systemic death and destruction over the last 5000 years.
Now, in the technology age, we have the ability to provide everybody with a high quality of life, all the basic needs, done with automation, digital network feedback and intelligent sharing, production and distribution. Poverty, war, unnecessary suffering should be a thing of the past. Money/market economies are the underlying problem that stops us from organizing in a rational way.

Many of may friends will get craze rashes after a simple thunder storm because it reminds them of the bombing still can't stand loud alarms because it immediately brings me back to war alarms during the war. I mean the numbers of wars US was and is enveloped in is beyond comprehension and most of the people even specially Americans Society doesn't even know that. 2 trillion Dollars spent in Iraq war and almost 90% of that went to private contractors in that war. This is crazyyyyyyyy. Some minority elites are using everybody in and out side of US just to become richer and richer every single day.

Would the current exemptions from service also apply to those children of representatives? Would they be required to serve in active combat roles? Yes, the current exemptions would apply but they would need to be checked and approved by multiple neutral doctors to avoid any foul play or deception. And yes, their children would need to be in active combat. The more hawkish the politician, the more likely their child should see active combat. The brother hit it dead on the head. All to often the call to war is made by those who haven't, wouldn't, or couldn't take a life themselves. This doesn't make sense on any conceivable level. I question things, I wonder about motives, I investigate when I don't understand, and growing up watching the daily show point out hypocrisy on both sides is why I attempt to be an informed member of the elec5torate. We don't have to agree, but I expect you to understand.

Because society has made it seem like going "thank you for your service" or when a vet talks it carries more weight no matter what they talk about then ignoring what they actually said is enough. This is about money the defence budget has only grown and what we actually spend in the name of defense and war has been over a trillion a year for the last 20 years at least if not longer. We hide it in the dept of energy budget we hide it in special spending bills we hide it in black projects. Instead of build and staffing for the best care the best treatment for our vets hell for our entire country. We spend brillions on nearly 4000 Abrams tanks setting in the deserts of Nevada and New Mexico with no use. Money is used on 120 "stealth" ships that then get pared down to 50 then 12 then 3 as they fail to work and never were going to as the "smart gun" the ships were built around failed in everyway the ammo costing 800k a shell. Worse then 1 ship nearly sinks under it's own gun and we retire the entire line of ships. Well we spent hundreds of billion on R&D for those ships; we don't even get 3 full ships because they were never going to work and we knew that, and the rest of the hundreds of billions in funding that was already passed in a bill a decade ago get's put into the pentagon slush fund. We get the f-35 a 1 trillion + boondoggle that still can't live up to it's promises nearly 20 years ago and the pentagon and airforce are talking about it's replacement now. Nevermind we just wasted enough money to build a cross country web of high speed rail with fiber optic internet for every man woman and child in our country on One joke of a fighter jet. Defend spending has become a taxpayer funded jobs program where the only thing we get out of it is weapons we ether can't use or don't work as the rich get richer on these contracts. Helping the sick even sick soldiers doesn't provide enough of a return of investment for the fatcats in the corporate world R&Ding a new weapon that may or may not work after 15 year does.

Historically (and by historically I mean in the ancestral environment that shaped our instincts) taking responsibility meant being shunned, and being shunned meant having no children, and therefore not passing down the "take responsibility" genes.
People like winners. Say there's this guy who makes a lot of claims as to his greatness, call him... Monald. He's charming, he's larger than life, and he's making all sorts of outlandish promises. He's also telling you that he'll protect you from the Great Enemy That Is Pounding On Our Walls And Stealing Our Jobs.
You are instinctively going to like him.
In order to dislike him, you have to *remind yourself* that everything he says has, in fact, no actual basis.
If you don't make the effort, you are going to like Monald. He has a winning image, he never takes any accusation lying down, no, he replies, responds, retaliates, returns the accusation to those who made it. It's never Monald's fault, because Monald is perfect, and your hindbrain wants to be just like Monald, perfect in every way.
Not a loser who takes responsibility.

The thing is.. folks have to understand how they are being manipulated.. how propaganda works.. I mean the MEDIA LIED.. the NEWS LIED and was sooooooooo on board with cheerleading the war and "Weapons of mass destruction".. and a few years later they had MEGA egg on their faces.. OH I guess we didn't do our jobs good enough and question the rush to war.. (we were too excited about ratings and "Imbedding" whoohee.. !!!! PLAY TIME!. ). And the next war with the next generation will happen and on and on and on.. . I mean, I am not saying that there will not be a war we should just be pacifists with.. I don't see how anyone could have sit out WW2... but STILL see how that war was constructed out of the ashes of WW1... (SEE BANKS AND WAR)... You have a right to defend yourself.. but understand how your mind is being manipulated! How your thoughts and beliefs and actions are being manipulated by the PTB via media and policy and politics.. UGh.. We "learn" these lessons AFTER this .. but then 30 years after that.. same thing.. Sigh.

The foundation of war is economics. China has 4-5x our population, and thus only need half of our GDP to have 2-3x as large of an economy. China's leaders, albeit corrupt, are competent and mostly on-board with the central vision. Meanwhile in the USA, our leaders are corrupt and incompetent, only concerned with their own power and wealth.
The US faces 3 major issues...the ever-increasing inequality created by the liberal economy; state failure, political decline, and ineffective governance caused by political liberalism; and decadence and nihilism created by cultural liberalism. If America doesn't want its beacon of light to be extinguished in the next decade, we need to have foundational change, a paradigm shift...one that spurs innovation and creativity, while preserving a semblance of freedom and agency....but our current political system looks to be impossible to crack and change at any meaningful level.
God save us all. Love, hope, peace

To be honest, it's good that people are looking for improvements. That to me is constructive criticism, a good sign that people see the show as good, they're interested, and they want to see it do well.

I’ve always said that every politician that votes for war needs to send their kids and grandchildren to the front lines first.
The war tax on the MIC profits is brilliant.

Well we clearly didn't join the discussion in the beginning, based upon the first thing Jon was saying. So perhaps it is significantly longer in it's entirety? But idk.

There is an excuse for it. It's called money. Money is the root of all government decisions.

While I was in Afghanistan, unconsciously I documented my whole deployment. I have plenty of proof how these burn pits were being handled. Not to mention how we slept next to ‘em 💀

The war in Afghanistan alone cost around 1 Trillion USD
    Just for perspective
Edit: sorry... thats actually not accurate .......................
Its actually more like 2.3 Trillion

Cost the tax payers that much. A bunch of politicians, private military and arms manufacturers made bank. The war wasn't a loss. It was redistribution. Trickle upwards economics.

This isn't including all the foreign aid that went into Aghanistan over 20 years for progress that was wiped out in a day. It isn't including all the millions of civilian deaths, the booming Afghan drug trade that kills millions world-wide etc. etc..
