Ocean City Maryland will be in my mind forever. The Boardwalk hot in the summer sun burning your feet. Thrasher's French Fries. The asphalt and garbage smell in the morning. The long beaches. The Arcades. Ripley's. The smell of the salty air. The feeling of time stopping for the week of vacation you are there. Spending the days getting sunburned, then getting dressed up to go out to eat at a fancy Seafood restaurant. The knowing that the place will go quiet and dormant through fall, winter, spring, until people return to bring it back to life in the summer. It will always be a special place for me.
Great vid, used to play my guitar on the beach 1968 to 70 with a group of hippies that would gather round,it was such a great time and the memories, I am from Deals Island and Princess Anne.❤
I lived there from 1973 to 1995. I went to high school there. I feel like it was a great moment in time to be there. I visited it about 10 years ago, and it wasn't the same. Its kind of gone downhill a bit. What a shame. I prefer the OBX theses days.
Y’all are awesome. As an eastern shore Maryland guy, thanks for representing our wonderful state. Love the positive energy. I’m in my 30s and I gotta say, respectfully, your wife is a total babe. You both compliment each other very well for the dynamic of the channel. Subscribed!
@@AlongForTheJourney haha awesome. There are a few “off the beaten path” restaurants and seafood markets I can recommend in the counties that border the beach county
I grew up in Bethesda and we used to go to OC almost every summer. I moved to Illinois in 1973 and the last time in was in OC was in 1998 with my late wife. It was always one of my favorite places but it's probably too crowded these days.
WoW! 8,000,000 people. I didn't guess nowhere near that many. I started taking my family to OC since 1999. Now all grown and gone, the wife and I still enjoy going (me more than she). I love you guys' videos. I smile the entire time while watching. Didn't come down last year but will definitely be making an appearance this year. The boardwalk looks so much fun. We usually stay in the higher numbered streets with no BW. Tends to be a little quieter. But this year I think we should stay where the action, stores and food are. And you are right, I can't walk by an arcade without going in. And I like the souvenir stores. I always find something I like. Thanks again.
We have been going down to OC twice a year since 1999. A week in the summer and usually Thanksgiving week since my wife got too sick to cook. Everybody should try to attend the outstanding Winter Fest from middle of November until New Year's night in the giant North Park. Tram car drives you around the park to see the 750,000 light bulbs that make up Christmas decorations up to 30' high. So many great restaurants to eat at. They only charge $6 for Winter Fest and talking to one of the workers they probably don't even break even for all of the time it takes to set decorations up ( maybe a full month ! ).
Love your enthusiasm, like Along for the Journey's. Staying closer to the BW means maybe not having to drive down at night and dealing with that. But I remember the ol Baltimore Orioles ballpark, when we parked on a field and had to wait for the other fans to move their car; sometimes it took a long time. All part of a fun experience!
Love your uploads as always! My family has a condo down in OCMD and I grew up at this shore. I learn so much from your videos! Are you planning on going back anytime soon? Would love to cross paths. Keep up the great work!! 👍
Thank you so much. ❤️❤️ Might be down in fall again... heading back to jersey boardwalks next and some trips planned farther south. Thanks for supporting our channel and one day we will cross paths im sure. 👍👍
My ex husband was from Baltimore so we visited Ocean City several times when our children were little. (We lived just outside Dallas). We looked forward to it more than any other place we visited.
We had a place on 15th behind the firehouse. I was at the spring car show this year and will be there in the fall show in October. I love OC and have since I was a kid.
I don't think there's much ugly in Ocean City. I wish I was there now. Candy Kitchen has the best walnut fudge. Fishers does have some good caramel popcorn, especially when they just make it. Grados pizza on 13th street is really good pizza. Alaska Stand has good food.
Jessica’s moved up the boardwalk, just before Alaska Stand. I was there twice to get their amazing fudge and chocolate covered fruit/bacon. Lots of sugar free options there.
The fractured prune is a MUST VISIT, every time I’m down there! I always want to be adventurous, but I ALWAYS end up getting the OD sand donut 😂 My mouth is watering for FP now… so glad I’m heading down to OC tomorrow!! 🥰🥰🥰
if you're looking for a great pizza, with a big slice, in ocean city, you MUST go to Ripeanos. it's nothing like the other pizza places there. it's behind McDonald's on 33rd street. they have great pizza... huge pies and huge slices, as big as a box, with a large variety of available toppings. great Italian side dishes, also! but if your stuck on the boardwalk, Franco's is the best.

That sums it all up. Lol 👍👍😎😎
I miss Ocean City so much. So many good memories spent with my grandparents, parents, and my brother.
Yes it is a great place to create memories. 👍👍
@@AlongForTheJourney Yea I'm 69 and been going since I was born.
The Surf Shop back in the 80s it was called Edwards Store sold vintage items I have been coming here since 1978 and my wife has ben coming since 1954.
Yep I remember that. Love those old shops. 👍👍

No place is like the old days anymore. Lol
Great video! Shows a lot of the great things the boardwalk has to offer. Alaska Stand is a favorite of ours 😊
Thanks so much. 👍👍

@craig5222 Please do... I love the shrimp boat for crabs and love the shanty town feel.

Thanks for sharing. Memories are wonderful. You should go neck just go off-season April or October is my favorite time. 👍👍
We are neighbors as I live from Silver Spring.
I remember those kiddie boats at Trimper's, too. The water seems clearer than I remember, but that's 50 year old data from my mind
Lol that's what I said... looks like there adding blue die or something. But when you 6 or 7 years old.. those boats were incredible.

Some good picks in there. 👍👍
PRAISE THE LORD. Thanks for promoting OC. The Alaska Stand started in 1933 on Wicomico St
BLESSINGS JOHN 3:16
Thanks for watching our channel. 👍👍
Ripley's building still had dancing into the 70's.
Thanks for sharing.
Great Video! Another fact about Ripley’s, It was also a wax museum and Photon (basically lazer tag)
Great information. Thanks for sharing👍👍
Jessica used to be right by the inlet. That candy store that you were in at the beginning of this video was where Jessica used to be
Thanks for info. 👍
Jessica’s moved up the boardwalk, just before Alaska Stand. I was there twice to get their amazing fudge and chocolate covered fruit/bacon. Lots of sugar free options there.
@@myredprobe2675 yep. Got some earlier this month. Got 3 pounds of fudge
Great video as always! What is your favorite boardwalk to visit?
I love the jersey boardwalks... oc new jersey and seaside heights are awesome.
Love to see new season video!! Much love from Macedonia
Thanks so much. 😎😎👍👍❤️❤️
Next time check out the fractured prune. I’m watching from Oregon, but I grew up in Ocean City. Went to Ocean City Elementary school.
The fractured prune is a MUST VISIT, every time I’m down there!
I always want to be adventurous, but I ALWAYS end up getting the OD sand donut 😂
My mouth is watering for FP now… so glad I’m heading down to OC tomorrow!! 🥰🥰🥰
Oh yeah I put fractured prune in a couple of my oc videos. Love them👍👍🍩🍩
You got me so hungry for one of those hot donuts right now. 😎😎👍👍🍩🍩
I most had the orange creamsicle and OC Sand donuts :) So good!
@myredprobe2675 yummmmm
What hotel would you recommend?
The Marriott on the boardwalk is my favorite.
if you're looking for a great pizza, with a big slice, in ocean city, you MUST go to Ripeanos. it's nothing like the other pizza places there. it's behind McDonald's on 33rd street. they have great pizza... huge pies and huge slices, as big as a box, with a large variety of available toppings. great Italian side dishes, also! but if your stuck on the boardwalk, Franco's is the best.
Omg I have been waiting for this tip. 👍👍👍 I'll be going there on my next visit.
I think the both of you will love it.
@MsKaraokequeen I know so. Lol
Nick here…..Where do you stay when you visit OC?
We Rent a condo from a friend.
We rent from a family member on 9th Street
Gotta try the brass balls -donkey punch!!!!
Omg got to try that next time I'm there. 👍👍
Cloudy 😢
So it seems as though anybody can just declare and designate a piece of real estate on the boardwalk for their own business.
I didnt see one place to have an adult beverage???
You must have missed half the video... mentioned the new whiskey place opening the purple parrot there's booze everywhere if that's your thing.
Seacrets is a lot of fun for adults!
And there are plenty of other bars in OC!
