      Not sure I would call it "all new", it is a fairly minor upgrade over the non Octane version.

    Thanks for the review. I just bought this with the oscillating head and 2 batteries kit. Love it. Great for undercutting door casing, floor transitions etc. I bought a metal cutting head to cut some recessed bolts on a deck I was taking down. The plunge and flush cut blades that come with the kit are fine but only for wood, drywall or similar materials. The tool and head costs are minimal compared to the costs of blades and batteries. A single wood/drywall/metal 3.5” flush cut blade is $20.
    Don’t forget to register your Ridgid tools and batteries to take advantage of their awesome warranty. There is a time limit from the purchase date.

    Boom! Funny just last week after registering my new roto-zip head to complete my jobmax tool collection I sent a message asking about a brushless update to the jobmax. Very happy about this. Ridgid is taking over! Two years ago I replaced an aging Milwaukee 18v tool line with the ridgid brushless and a mix of octane in there I have been blown away. I'm an electrician and recommend ridgid to anyone in question. No one can touch the ridgid warranty and now the tools match if not out perform anything on the market. Another one out of the park by ridgid!

    that tool is my best friend. the oscillator head (which is a sander, cutter, polisher etc by itself), rotary head, jigsaw head and sawzall head are my daily bread and butter. The multi tool, my impact driver, hammer drill, circ saw smash through 99 percent of my repairs. the ridgid shop vac is my secret weapon. The power is insane for a 4 gallon - power cord really long, wheels roll super good and sucks & blows like my ex old lady on a friday night. Also, the 50 dollar jobsite radio is pretty decent. Could be a little louder. Has bluetooth, takes ur drill batteries, has aux port and usb input. bluetooth can drain ur phone battery, so its nice to keep my phone plugged into the radio while bluetooth is connected. My next buys are ridgid dustbuster and that 4 1/2 angle grinder!! Beware of cordless grinders tho! theyll smoke batteries like i would a blunt. i bought a 9aH for those heavy hitters!! Great work as always bro! love ur vids.

    I have this tool. Its terrific. I use the JobMax jig saw attachment often and look forward to purchasing the metal shear attachment in the near future. I use the 4.0 battery but might move forward on getting an Octane battery given the claim it will allow the tool to generate more power. Excellent video. Thank you.

Do u think that impact wrench from 2017 is octane tool? Thanks great videos

    I got a 12 volt one used, with the older oscillating attachment and I love it, but I think by the time you buy the power head, batterie(s), and attachments, it seems like you might as well just buy the actual tools. They'd probably work better and not be much more expensive depending on the brand.

    If you can reach out to Ridgid tell them to bring back the autohammer and ratchet attachment for the jobmax also bring back the x4 vacuum but with octane technology. A PEX A expander head for the jobmax would also be really sweet.

Also does the new octane jobmax increase the power to the angle impact?

    • @Pro1er
      @Pro1er 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is just a guess on my part, but I think they dropped the autohammer because of the vibration damaging the tool - particularly the Ryobi multitool which is a POS. As far as the ratchet, I think they dropped it because it is very low torque. You can often find either attachment on eBay.

    Haven't seen this at Home Depot in Canada yet (Mid July 2019). My 12 Volt JobMax power handle is overheating with that wonderful electrical smell and it's just past the limited 3-year warranty. I have the regular and the high capacity battery and five different power heads. Went to a Toronto Home Depot yesterday and they informed me that they didn't have a RIDGID JobMax Multi Tool in the store - "It's been discontinued". They knew nothing about a redesigned "Octane Cordless" version.
    This is a versatile and awesome tool that makes some of the tough jobs much easier and I love the RIDGID LSA warranty when it applies to their tools. Where can I get a replacement- FAST!

    I can't seem to find any specs online. Even on Ridgid's website. It seems they're trying to create a bunch hype before releasing some numbers . I own the original 18v jobmax and love it. But, I need some facts and numbers before deciding to upgrade or not. So far, I'm not convinced.

    Have you compared this with the recip head to the new octane one hand recip saw? If not, would you possibly be able to?
    I know the tech specs for both but a real world comparison would be great. Mainly thinking about using it for pruning limbs and small jobs since I have the full size octane recip already. The one hand saw has a longer stroke than the jobmax head but I wonder how much of a difference that 1/4” will actually matter in use. Of course, power comparison would be great too. I assume the standalone is also going to be noticeably more powerful.

    • @ToolReviewZone
