lets check out the reciprocating saw attachment - puts the attachment on upside down then lets see how it cuts - grabs a 12 2x6 and all you see is stock of lumber just skipping all over the place. dont be a boob man, stick it in a vice or screw it down and make sure its not able to move then cut your material. it was funny though but not in a good way.
*Both **MyBest.Tools** are balanced and weighted right. The impact driver has a tool clip that is just right. The lights shine on the project and help my tired old eyes find the right spot*
my recip attachment will not stay attached, the black "prongs" on the base body do not extend out far enough to keep it secure, I would imagine this will happen with other attachments. Rigid customer service says to mail it to a service center. Not thrilled, but will abide by their rules.
@@TheExcellentLaborer how much would it cost for you to buy and ship on to me in edmonton Canada? I want the reciprocating attachment at the moment 😅🤨😀
Used this video to understand how to install blades on the multitool head. After viewing the technique in the video, the information was there in the literature, but not clear to me. Thanks for demonstrating. It think that showing clamp installation for each demonstration would make the video unwatchable, but why couldn't the camera be stopped between installations if cutting the clamp installation in post-production was not an option?
I'm a contractor. Have been for over 20 years. This is...without the slightest doubt...THE best tool on the market for a lot of what I do...handyman stuff especially. Big jobs I'll often bring in my individual tools...but most stuff it's just in and out and the last thing I want is to be hauling a half dozen big bulky and heavy tools all over the place. With the jobmax I can fit everything in one bag. The only problem is that the idiots at Ridgid simply do not realize what a gem they have here. Nobody makes anything else like this...and I have tried and tried and tried to get them to see what a winner they have here...and to get them to add a few more attachments so it really covers all the bases. An angle grinder attachment, a small circular saw, and a decent spin saw (the one they've made works but it's not great). Other than that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tool to every jobber on the continent...and every DIY'er as well.
Yeah, its not even in production anymore. And there were a few heads for it that werent covered here (I have the metal snips, theyre great), but a small circ and an angle grinder would have been amazing.
@ridgidtoday they will come back after this stupid cycle with a brand new multi head brushless multi tools like with ryobi when all indivial tools are getting more expensive. I won't buy even one the new tool as I do not have the space for junk. I rather buy regular saw, SDS and torque impact.
@@TheExcellentLaborer There is pro and con for ridgid, I use for years. They are not consistent on their lines, I have all the jobmax as well but they discontinue like the octane series :{ fornuate I grab the octane mid torque impact, the new one sucks
I just bought the multi-tool attachment and power unit on a sale. But there aren't other accessories available. Should I return it? Are they done making them, or is it a temporary outage? Thx in advance if anyone has real info to share. :)
Do you feel that the rigid jobmax body has better build & performance difference, over the ryobi jobplus body? Also if you clamped down wood pieces, the tool would have preformed better with two handed grip, giving better control.
I love the octane tools. I have never use the Ryobi multi tool. I heard it’s the lower end version of Ridgid. But for the price they might be worth a shot.
@@TheExcellentLaborer ryobi is the worse gotta watch out with the ryobi one overheats fast and smokes I smoked 2 of them already the x4 is fair but once it gets hot it will shut off and won’t start till it cools down the octane had no issues it’s my favorite
Nice review. Why didn't you post a link to where you bought that same jobmax kit you are reviewing? Who wants to buy everything separate when you can save on a bundle?
I am still waiting! I called Home Depot to see what is going on. They said the tools are in Atlanta and being fixed and verified if they are under warranty🤷♂️ Still a waiting game
@@stevevinas I feel the LSA is just fine if you level set your expectations. Some people have no patience for going through the hoops of a warranty or repair service. While I get it that it can be a pain some people are more easy complain than others. I do like the idea of battery replacements because rechargeable will always eventually wear out.
Hey, Black and Decker marketed a drill type tool many years ago that did all that. It had interchangeable heads like drill, impact, and sander. I ultimately broke the drill and ended up having useless attachments. Don't think they make the power unit anymore
Hey Craig! I have never owned black and decker. I heard they are more of a lower end tool. These tools are definitely a little more heavy built. That’s one thing great about the lifetime service agreement, if something breaks you can send it back to Ridgid to get fixed. But if you break it being hard on the tool they will not cover that. Thanks a lot man for watching my videos!
They still make it. It’s call the Black and Decker Matrix. Still use mine and the attachments all the time. I like the B&D body shape better for one handed use than this one.
I have the old 12v firestorm. The batteries are junk, so I am sitting on the just the tools. I have been considering throwing it out, but its such a nice kit...
Recip head does not stay attached when cutting a small bolt. Vibration sends it to the floor. LSA says send it to a service center. $30 bucks for me. Non refundable.
Thx. That was a very informative vid. I got a lot out of it. For future vids, plz take the time 2 lock down the pieces u use. It looks unsafe, and we all need 2 set an example 4 others. It also made me nervous 4 your safety, and it was distracting. :-o

Checked Home Depot and they discontinued the attachments for this tool! Why would they do that??
they fall off, seriously have problems with mine, CS says to mail it to a service center, will see what happens
Is there a ROUTER attachment?
How durable long does batteries last
great review. No need to speed up cuts by 2x though, I'm here to see how it actually works even if it seems slow. Thanks
Thanks for watching! What you could do is just slow down the parts of the video in 1/2. That should make it real time
Hi there!
I couldn’t find the combo kit on Rigid store, can I have a link or a store where I can find it ?
Thank you!
Nice set
Thanks!
Regular blades in saw zall
Yea
I think they got rid of it. I don't see it at Home Depot anymore. All
I see is the corded version.

It is impact ... do you could but all types of drive heads and bits
Yes you can use any quarter inch driver!
It seems like it was discontinued!? Any way to still order it?
This good video
Thanks!
Thanks for the awesome video! Showed me what I needed to know to attach them! Got the whole Job Max and it works great for what I need it for!
Glad it helped! Stay tuned!
Seems they discontinued the job max, I can't get the heads anywhere in canada
They are still in America!

Oooooohhhhhhhh that dremle thing is nice
It’s okay
Really nice tool set
Thanks a lot!. Can’t wait to use them more
Ever heard of a vice?
Is this tool discontinued? I can't find it

Great review Josh. I am a DeWalt guy but you have my attention now. Fantastic tool
Thanks Amazing. I was a Dewalt guy before and I still like Dewalt but for the price point I switched to Ridgid and the LSA.

How do you change the heads hope it’s in
You got to squeeze the pin together on the multitool
Hi do you know if the ridgid ratchet attachment will work on the 18v jobmax?
anything jobmax (ridgid) or jobplus (ryobi) will work on either platform.
I like the idea but I'm sure it's not as good as tools that are made for 1 thing but that being said it would be great for a home owner or diyer
I just bought the multi-tool attachment and power unit on a sale. But there aren't other accessories available. Should I return it? Are they done making them, or is it a temporary outage? Thx in advance if anyone has real info to share. :)
What are the RPMs of the rotozip drywall head?
I dont have any idea. I couldnt find it on the HD website.
pretty sure it is the standard 10-30k like most rotary tools.

The body is built a little better, but ultimately, they are the same tool. The heads are definitely interchangeable.
I got the 12 volt the X4 version the brushless octane and the ryobi one that uses the ridgid heads as well my favorite is the octane model

I will avoid ryobi like a plaque then. Thanks for your input man!
Right angle drill what the Hells a right angle impact is it a screw gun we’re on a right angle or is it a drill head
Yes it is for tight spaces.
Is there a die grinder or straight dremil type head
What would you use on drywall . Rotozip or multi tool blade
Rotozip for sure
Impact driver??? Ya
Yep!
Next tool is a vise or some clamps huh???

Thanks! Here is the link for the one I got. www.homedepot.com/p/300342950 But there is a link for just the job next kit below in the description
@@TheExcellentLaborer ohhhhh.... Well thanks for posting but I thought it was just a jobmax tool kit. I wish they put something together like that
found this tool in the garbage, I thought it was just a one-hand reciprocating saw. I can't believe the head is removable!
It is! Such an universal tool. Get more attachments and get some work done!
All those also work with the Ryobi version
Great Tool!!
Good to know. I was not sure if they would or not. Thanks for watching!
I’ll try your link just bought it

You should have used a clamp or two & clamped down hard on each wood piece before performing on each demo!
I wish he didn’t speed up the video when he uses the tool. I want to see it at it’s normal speed
Sorry about that. I might make another video in normal speed
You should really clamp down your wood or metal pieces before demoing a tool for safety and better demoing my friend but a nice review.
Why did you speed up the videos?? Thats not a good thing to do on a tool review. If your video is to long less talking
The release for multi head is kind of shit, I think... like for the blade ... Quik release
True
Clamp down the piece of wood you are cutting next time. Would make it easier.
Good point. I will have to try it. Thanks for watching!
