    Nice drive YS. I watched from start to finish. I took delivery of my Ativa 5 days ago got it ferried down on a lorry from KL where my son bought it 2 months ago. And I must say this is a damn zippy car to drive with lots of power for a 1 litre engine. Quiet and smooth with lots of safety features for me, guy of your age too. Avid fan of yours lah. Keep us entertained and informed of your drives and cars from time to time. BTW I sold off my 14 yr old Avanza and 10 yr old Myvi to get this. No regrets. Thanks YS.

    I remember when isuzu did their economy run on the dmax in Sarawak - aircon off, tyres inflated to maximum, and the convoy was escorted at 60-70kph with zero traffic on the highway. Honestly I've never bothered with 'official figures'. Historically, all big brands have always lied, even since the mid 1900s

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As you can see from our video we did nothing like that. But then, some might even tell us to switch ac off, to get how much fc is without ac. You can never please everybody.

    If you drive slowly when you see a red light, you might be able to cruise non-stop, thus improve more fuel efficiency. Usually I follow the local speed limit and almost every time I got a green light. This method will not work in Putrajaya as most of the traffic light have sensors 😅 but can also work if there's a car already on the sensors.
    I've achieved 16km/l (sometimes more) with a BRV while ac on & city driving.

    ativa because it is crossover suv has large tyre relative to its weight & dimension, if its is just a normal hatchback with lower few cm ground clearence and 15/16 inch rims paired to 195mm width tyre, i think official economy figure is more than 20 km/l and uncle consumption is close to 20km

      Hi, KK, thank you for supporting our channel.
      The only way you can reduce tire noise is to buy tires that are quieter to start with.

    i bet almera 1.0 turbo will have better fuel consumption because of its more aerodynamic size.
    but almera doesn't equipped with eco idle

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Eco idle will save more in start stop conditions, but our hot climate actually makes them quite redundant, as the interior heats up very quickly. Anyway one should live a balanced life, enjoy the car a bit, blast it once in a while, and keep the air cond cold.

  • @jcw5288
    @jcw5288 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Driving above 80km/h causes lots of air drag which the car needs to overcome. If you drive a manual tranny, try accelerating to 100km/h, then changing it to free gear. Then try driving to 60km/h and doing the same.

    Ys Khong the fill to top method n drive then fill to top noting volume of petrol litres used is most common n accurate method. Why do you not use this ?

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Takes too much time, and there will still be arguments about the air space on top of the tank. It takes a good 20 minutes just filling up the tank, and you do it twice. That can be done live, but on video, it is too long. On a single take video it will be very boring. If edited, it will invite more snide remarks.
      There are other methods, but they are too costly, and we cannot afford to buy such equipments necessary.
      Please note we are a TH-cam Channel, and we qualified our test beforehand. You can always do a full tank to full tank test yourself to verify. Unless the manufacturer's claim is very far off target, this indication is close enough.
      Despite all the test methids, the traffic conditions are a variable. The best test would be on a race track, but we cannot afford to pay RM60k to rent the track for a day.

    If you drive under 90kmh constantly, I think it will reach more than 18.9km/l... What's I'm guessing a tips for better fuel Consumption is avoid to rev up more than 2400rpm whereas the turbocharger kick in...
    I like this engine 1L turbo. If you carefully cruise under 90kmh, fuel Consumption will be great... But it still have power if you needed... I hope this engine offer to other models like myvi or axia (because I don't like SUV).
