I just got some new trecking shoes whit this problem, and your lacing technique worked like a charm. Now i wont have to face blisters on my next hike. Thanks a lot.
I just bought a pair of shoes for $90 that happen to be a little bit to big my feet slide and is uncomfortable especially on my heel , I did this and noticed a difference right away with only a few steps my shoes are much tighter but a comfortable tight and my feet don’t slide anymore , thank you ! This is awesome cause I’m getting tired of having to return shoes for various reasons lol I’ve had to quite a bit and didn’t want to have to return another pair again
This worked for me! I noticed that I had to tighten up the laces, especially the closest ones to my ankle, to ensure my foot stays put. But it definitely helped me after I added my orthotics. My heel is narrow compared to the rest of my foot so this has always been an issue for me.
For visual assistance that was helpful but you absolutely must stand when doing this procedure. (I've sold over 1k running shoes on the Rock and Roll Marathon & other marathons in 3yrs) and pose the question do you run siting down or is the fit better using this method to your shoes when standing up with pressure & expansion on the feet...?
Not sure if that's the way I remember tying up shoes but you got an automatic like for me because you were using New balance in the demonstration my favorite shoe the only kind I wear.
No, it's a problem for people with narrow heels. I wear an older version of New Balance shoes because the have the narrowest heels I've found. There are articles on Google with recommendations for shoes that have a narrow fit in the heels. I use this lacing technique as well but it won't completely solve the problem if the shoe has wide openings in the heels.
I noticed that you skip an eyelet . I guess that you want to save some length of the lace. For my case , I wear Mizuno Wave Sky Wave Knit 4 and I do lace them as exactly as your way plus taking out the insoles too. It does work really.
Question. Does heel slippage cause interior linning to rip apart. Or shoes manufacturers just purposely put low quality materials so we must buy new shoes ...?
Yes, heel slippage definitely causes the interior lining to rip apart. I had this happen on a number of pairs of shoes until an orthotics specialist finally revealed this way of typing shoes to prevent slippage and the ripping on my running shoes. A lifesaver as this was the only part of my shoes that seemed to wear badly.

All I can say about heel slipping is that it sure loves causing blisters

You have an extra hole with out tie ??

Good idea but I would prefer to find a shoes that doesn't slip!
Tie while standing to really lock that heel in.
Need longer arms.
