My First Armored Core. Not much of a game, but a good starting point and a fun playground to try out AC parts without thinking about budgets. God! This game made my childhood ❤️
@@Novice_Mecha64 oh a very good starting point having all the parts to play with and seeing what they can do. Plus the whole sport entertainment idea is what makes it my fav along with the lore of ofcourse ha ha.

It is and really the game play allowed the team to go very deep into details about the league through the news and mail systems. Well in the ps2 version, but the psp versions still have a place in my heart.

Me too much as i like the stories of the other games, i will always have a soft spot for this game and the p2 version more for just how wacky some of the mail is.
Now that I think about it... It would be nice if we had a Armored Core game where the Arena became more profitable than corporate wars and we enter as a Raven that wants to become a Nine Breaker but there's some factions that want to bring back the old ways of corporate warfare and bloodshed. Like, one Armored Core game where there's at least one TRULY hopeful message and ending.

Even after the most emotional AC, AC VI, FF still my fav AC. I love how it plays (and fuck that hover tank with the vertical missile) since you literally become a manager, technically. But damn..., I wish FromSoft make another FF, if not in/using the AC name.
It would be a sick anime. Plus I'd like fromsoft or whoever creates it to use some new va's too as there is no real voices in the game so it really be a good place for new va's to stand out.
Once again, I had no clue all this was going on in the background back in the days when I was crushing the league on the PSP. But I do say, this was the first step for the programming of UNAC. ^~^
I admit nethier did I until I dived deep into the ps2 version. The psp ones have always been what i played so when i recently played the ps2 version why it was like a treasure chest of world building and lore.
Reminds me of an anime known as IGPX (or Immortal Grand Prix). At least in the aesthetics if not the bare bones of it. Mecha used exclusively for sporting competition despite being power houses all their own.
Oh the similar designs are there, then again I suppose you can only draw or create some many mech parts. But I think your right, its more to hit that old ac nostalgia button.

I can't believe a game that play itself could be this fun, when you win you feel proud of your machine, and at the same time it makes you want to tear your hair when it does something dumb, my Junk Warrior pulled an epic win against a Tank AC today :'3, still I wanted to kill her when she rushes like an idiot and eat 3 Tank shoots the face Xd.
Oh know that feeling. You really do get feels with your ai ac, one minute your cheering them on for going around the tank instead of standing in front of it and then they will run into a wall and keeping going. Gotta love the ai sometimes ha ha.

I remember liking this game enough to replay through the story at least twice if not more: once while ignoring the AI system entirely in lieu of 'remote controlling' the AC, then again to see if my winning design, this speedy biped with an Exceed Orbit core, Linear Cannon weapon arms, and no other weaponry could crack it controlled by the computer. Maybe no other weaponry...can't remember if I mounted missiles too or went without them in lieu of ludicrous speed. Pretty sure either way the AI I set up humbled me arse showing how it could easily beat the tankier U-AC's with my design whereas I had to resort to using said design's EO core to finish them off after running out of ammo otherwise.
A naked playthrough nice. Yes the game does like to humble player I remeber being toss aside by ai when I thought my liner cannon only tank could take the whole league. It could not ha ha. And now on the ps2 version kisaragi is kicking my behind.
FF's the only game in the series I haven't played myself. The soundtrack's got some real gems though. I've put a few of its tracks on loop while I play games or work on things.
Excellent vid! I was just listening to the OST two days ago. I'd never played the PSP version and, to my understanding, the 2005 North American PS2 entry that I played was not the same version that was released in Japan. I'd always wondered if the story beats were the same between the different versions. Thanks for clearing that up and thanks for sharing!

Well funny enough there is mention of small toy acs being used as finding new architects. They work just like ac only on a smaller scale. This come from the ps2 version which goes into so much more detail then the psp.
Ah yes, the bastard child, the forgotten, and the unspeakable devil of Armored Core franchise. It's truly sad the ACTUAL story of Formula Front, the idea and premise could be a very exciting "sport management" kind of game ala F1 Manager 23, but alas, FromSoftware at the time wasn't very good (to put it the harsh way; let's be honest to ourselves, pre-Gen 4 Armored Core is very outdated and clunky). It was barely even qualify as "sport management" back then. Like, imagine if we could build our own part, like in F1 Manager, you're slowly raking up money, developing and researching more powerful part, and thus climbing the ladder. You have sponsor, team morale, facility that affect your team as a whole, and even choosing your own team member (engineer, researcher, team principal, etc.) I'm almost certain that Formula Front are very much inspired by Formula 1. From how they handle the league/division (Bottom League is just Formula 3), who's at the top at the time (Testarosa Artigiana is Ferrari, obviously, **cough** back when they're still good **cough**), and including all the controversies surrounding the sport. But somehow any other team is harder than Arti lmao (just like the actual Ferrari). And also, fuck that guy with missiles spam build, the Fibro guy, I hate that guy, I hate that mech.
I may love this bustard child too much ha ha. I mean to be fair its true ff is not a hard core sport managment sim. Which while that would be cool i think the ps2 version of this game is more sport sim then the psp one as they cut down a lot in the psp game. But I feel it the sort of game you can turn on, enjoy it and it does no overstay its welcome.
The first story just feel more realistic that a technology as awesome as armoured core is used not only in the battle field but also in a civilian hand, just felt more realistic that way

This game need to be am add on!!!all the tools and analytics and today the ai assisted back end it couldn't a reactive ai for the game kinda like the nemesis system from lord of the rings games. Any ways THIS needs to come back and be added to 6.aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

A happy sports world where at least its more team ranking issues and money issues rather then war for resources.
People can not like Formula Front being on a peaceful time, but that's the only Armored Core timeline where it is bearable to live.

this was my first armored core game actually, really fun, me and my brother would both create our own ACs on seperate savefiles and battle them out

Formula Front is giving off Mobile Fighter G Gundam vibes! Warfare is instead replaced by a series of 1-on-1 arena matches.
And they even sell small acs you can use at home.

I've always loved the Formula racer or Valkyrie aesthetic for mecha so I've always had a soft spot for this installment.
