You can say that starship guns can do better... until you need to bring starship gun right next to the target on surface level to fire accurate shot because either something is blocking line of sight from orbit or shooting from high angle isn't an option. That's when Titans come into play.
If you need to bring starship level firepower to the ground Adeptus Mechanicus can always build an Ordinatus. Like Ordinatus Armageddon which houses a Nova cannon. It was during the second war for Armgeddon to destroy the Godbreaker.
A group of 5 Warlord/Warbringer/Reaver titans, or Warmonger Class Titans are known to be threats to low orbit Starships, and the Voidshields they carry are comparable to the Voidshields found on said starships only even more condensed.

Fun fact about Titans: Whilst a majority of all Titans are of STC pattern origin, the Emperor class titans are one of the only patterns that are of Mechanicus origin since they are built as true avatars of the Machine God, since each forgeworld comes up with their own design many Emperor class Titans, both Imperator and Warmonger varients, are always unique in design from their forgeworlds origin. This would explain why none are built today and why many can vary from 40 meters tall to confirmed heights of up to 120 meters tall. Also, if you want some good Titan action go watch Helsreach, especially Part 5 for Stormheralds intro.

Fun fact about Titans:
Whilst a majority of all Titans are of STC pattern origin, the Emperor class titans are one of the only patterns that are of Mechanicus origin since they are built as true avatars of the Machine God, since each forgeworld comes up with their own design many Emperor class Titans, both Imperator and Warmonger varients, are always unique in design from their forgeworlds origin. This would explain why none are built today and why many can vary from 40 meters tall to confirmed heights of up to 120 meters tall.
Also, if you want some good Titan action go watch Helsreach, especially Part 5 for Stormheralds intro.

Truly the Warlord Titan is a symbol of the God Emperor's power. Is it over the top and overkill? Yes, it is, but it's still an impressive machine.

33 meters tall? I play a game called Star Citizen and I have a small single pilot ship called the freelancer. When you walk around it from the outside you can see that its a tiny ship. Its 38 meters long. Let me give you an excerpt of lore that clearly illustrates the authentic size of Warhammer 40K Titans.

There is ZERO correlation between tabletop model scales and lore scales. The Warlord Titan which is actually the smallest of the Heavy Battle Titan class would be around 800 meters tall making Godzilla(2021) look like a 3 year old toddler. The Titans are truly gigantic GOD MACHINES that are capable of blotting out the sun as they cause the ground they walk on to tremble in fear with each and every step.
Titans are Harbinger-Reaper sized Monstrosities from Mass Effect but much much chunkier and they sound like them too.

The Imperial knight is 12 meters and a warhound is much bigger so a warhound being only 14 meters doesn't make any sense

A bit of correction on the Ordo sinister; their actually piloted by nulls as anti psycher Titans and they are as nasty as they sound.
That is incorrect. They are piloted by psykers, and have a null on board tasked with exechting them if things go sideways.
@@kglguy after relooking it up your right, the nulls are actually the commanding princeps and they control the psychic charge to prevent the surgically attached to the heart of the titan psycher from ripping reality apart
