Thank you so much for this post. My wife told me the washer was broken and we needed a new one. When I checked there was the OE code and I had no idea what that meant. You sir just saved me a thousand dollars. I can’t thank you enough.
Seriously great job! Also you don't need to take off the front... Just tip the washer back and remove the Drain pump from the bottom. 3 screw. Easy removal. Spending $30 is much better than $400. Thanks man
Draining the drum was time-consuming, but it worked and I found the filter next to the drain absolutely loaded with dog hair. I think I’ll check it once-a-week from now on. Thanks so much for making the solution so clear!
Thank you! My wife was having a heart-attack, so I watched your video and cleaned the filter in the bottom left of the washer. My wife is now miraculously healthy and happy again.
I have this exact model and I could hear the pump making a "grinding" noise to accompany the OE error code. I tipped my washer forward and accessed the pump assembly from the bottom. Took approximately 20 minutes (start to finish) to replace the pump. Tools used: 10mm w/ extension for the pump cradle. Slip joint pliars to remove clamp on hoses (2) connected to pump housing. Phillips screw driver to remove screws holding pump to pump assembly. Finally, patience. One of the 3 10mm stud that holds the cradle down is a bit tough to reach and took a couple of tries to get it back in the correct orientation. Good Luck!!
Great video. It helped me diagnose the fact that I needed a new drain pump. That said, it is very easy to change by tilting the washing machine on the side. Then, you can easily get to the pump by removing three bolts that are in rubber boots with a 10 mm socket and extension then unplugging two tubes the bigger ones. Then you can pull everything out and remove three screws with a Philips head screwdriver. Makes this task take about 15 minutes.
Bro I just watched a different video where he was stepping through replacing the drain pump and it was like a 90 minute video and he practically took the entire machine apart. Then I saw your comment and realized that it can be done so easy. Thank you 😂
I tried all lg recommended fixes and had the same issue with my LG front loader OE error code. This is the fix. MAKE SURE THE 3 AIRWAYS INTO THE TUB ARE NOT CLOGGED WITH YEARS OF USE. Specifically, I pulled the hose off between the tub and pump, looked at the inside of the far back connection of that hose, and the inside is white plastic tube about 1.5 inches in diameter and it had crud blocking the small air hole that connects to the hose to the water level pressure switch. Apparently, the Water Level Pressure Switch determines if water has been expelled. The crud was mostly lint and dirt. You can look up the white tube from the front of the washing machine, with the front panel removed, with a mirror and clean it out with some spray cleaner and a couple paper towels crammed into the 1.5 in diameter hole and twisting the towels around with needle nose pliers. Then use a paper clip straitened to clean out the small hole inside that tube. Get all the crud out. If you do this, you may as well clean the top center of the tub air inlet by taking out the black hose pulling out the mushroom looking device and cleaning it. Then to the left of that is a small black hose from the exit water hose. Pull that from the tub and clean that by using the straightened paper clip. Stick it in the little hole at lease 2 inches and wiggle it around to loosen up any crud buildup. There is nothing on the internet about this so, good luck.
Geez, you should have made this video! You really get into your work. Your post inspired me to go the extra mile and it was well worth it. One of the recirc hoses was almost clogged and the other one was completely clogged. I removed them and cleaned them good as new.. And I cleaned the Water Level/Air Pressure switch with a squirt bottle which shoots a pretty strong stream. Thanks for the advice!!!
I berry much enjoy reading the notes comparing remedies for this very common machine..it's a big help to get a road-map born of experience before starting a repair attempt. I got in the appliance racket 35 years ago when it was more like fixing roller-skates, and NOT rocket-ships. I am looking at an LG that was in the carport when my friend bought this trailer in a T-park. We are at 8500 feet so there may be issues with damage by freezing; which is a problem common to anything that operates with water sitting still. Just as a recommendation, if possible, find a MAYTAG or WHIRLPOOL 1960-1980 series washer in decent shape, test it and fix whatever, and you'll never need another washer. Extremely low maintenance, mostly easy repairs, and excellent wash results. Best designs ever. I picked up a matched set of 60's MAYTAG's sitting on the curb and all I had to do was replace the igniter coil to the dryer. 8 years later, and still no trouble. Plug and play!
Thank you sooo much! Saved me an expensive service call. Word to the wise, don't try to save elderly throw rugs with rubber backing. The backing had disintegrated all over inside my washer and was overflowing the filter. And my shop vac was a great help with cleanup!
Thank you so much! Draining the hose did the job. I’m so bad at doing this and will make it a priority to drain the hose once/week. It took almost two hours to drain the hose but it was worth it to get my machine working again!
Excellent video---thankyou, sir. On the drain pump replacement----go from the bottom. Super easy. Tilt the washer on it's side and you can get to the pump and motor without taking any panels off. Just did this last night. New pump should be here tomorrow. Channel locks and a Phillips screwdriver. Had the pump out in 6 minutes.
This comment only annoys me because a year ago i replaced that motor following a video. It had me take pretty much the entire machine apart and it was very time consuming lol. Your method seems much easier
When your 2nd pump goes out you can use the tilt method. Seems like they only last 4-6 years. Mine recently failed again and I used the tilt method with success. Sorry I didn't get it on video. 😞
Dont wait on the drain plug if you have a wet vac!! After vacing the water out of the tub, just uncap the drain plug and suck it out. Done in five mins, no mess! Thanks for the video.
Thank you very much for reminding me why I will never buy a front loading washing machine, ever. These things look so pretty, but they are a maintenance nightmare. Good luck with yours.
If I may suggest to everyone... use a shop vac to also vacuum from the front after removing the filter and also vacuum your washing machine waste water line to ensure no clogs or old build up. Also pour water into your plumbing drain line/trap to ensure no clogs there either. Good luck. We have a dog and 2 cats. Plenty of buildup after 4 years and cleaning only the pump filter was not enough.
You just saved me the expense of a service call! It took the better part of my evening to make sure the hose was done draining, but the catcher was very gross. Thanks so much for taking the time to post this video!
Amazing...had the code today, had no idea what it meant...stumbled onto your clip and it was a easy fix. Clogged pump! Very much appreciated, thank YOU
You can just unplug the locking mechanism. Sometimes on the older models, you may have a screw in the inner hinge lip at the bottom of the panel on the left. It may be difficult to see if there is excessive rust.
Omg thank you so much, I was having issues and never thought about that hatch works sooooo much better like 7 years of my daughter and I washing clothes with dog hair

Sounds like it was a crazy weekend. I am sure you have it fixed by now, but the secret there would be to turn the disposal in the opposite direction than it normally does. To do this, most disposals will have a Female Hex head receiver at the bottom that will allow you to spin it with a hex head (allen) wrench.
Your video helped me so much! Thank you! I had an OE error code and the door had locked. It wouldn't finish washing nor let me open the door to empty what was there. I drained the line (I emptied 20 baking pans' worth of water) and cleared the catcher (was completely stuffed!) and was able to finish the load and open the door. So grateful for your instructions!
I have that drain pump coming in today (based on a lot of TH-cam videos, apparently this needs to be replaced) but thought I’d give LG customer service a call. And apparently I need to just do a clean tub with the special solution meant for this cycle. So hubs is off to buy the cleaning product but I don’t feel like that’s going to work since I haven’t seen any video saying that this might be all that’s needed. I do wash a lot of my sofa covers full of dog hairs and I’m guilty of never using the clean tub cycle. Hope it’s that simple.
That is probably a good practice in general to do every couple months. If your pump is damaged or broken though it will still need replaced. If the pump is still in good condition, you might get by. If you know with certainty that your incoming and outgoing lines are all free and that your pump is working and that your filter is clean I'm honestly not sure what to think but you could power cycle to see if you could get the code to clear.
Hi! What’s the part next to the pump. I replaced the and it’s still having the same issue. Not draining and making a grinding like noise. Same error. Any ideas or help?
Some washers have a good imbalance sensor, because when the imbalance sensor senses out there's an imbalance, or if the motor is struggling, the cycle stops, and continues, so that code error never happened in my Vestel.

That's the only thing I've had to do to it in 8 years so it hasn't been too bad however my next washer will be a top loader
Top loaders are usually very inefficient with water usage. That's probably one reason to stay with a front loader.
If we really wanted to save water, we would transition to fake grass.

Thanks. My filter was plugged with a stupid washable face mask that someone washed, and it somehow got out of the tub and into the filter. LOL. Sign of the Covid times.
Easy for those little things to get sucked through
@@JCTFIXIT I need to replace the little drain hose to drain the pump. Mine is plugged. Do you have a video for that?
Unfortunately I do not. 😞
Pump filter was clogged. My hose had a gallon of water it was alot lol but fixed it thanks

Thanks! I had a clogged check valve on my drain line. cleaned it, restarted washer, fixed.
Love to hear it!
Do you have the part number for the drain pump? I have the same error and on the same washer.

Thanks man but where’s the video of you showing how to get to the drain pump. I don’t see it.
Easier way to access is to lay machine on its side or back.
You helped me, thanks

@@JCTFIXIT hi I didi everything you said. The pump is fine but I still got OE. Do I need to reset the code? Thanks.
If you know with certainty that your incoming and outgoing lines are all free and that your pump is working and that your filter is clean I'm honestly not sure what to think but you could power cycle to see if you could get the code to clear.
@@JCTFIXIT thank you very much. I really appreciate your help.
Thank u so much😊
Glad it helped you!
Thank you! Very well explained video that helped fix my issue.
You are welcome! Thanks for watching
Thanks that worked
That's awesome! Glad I could help out
Tnx sir it helps a lot

Hi! What’s the part next to the pump. I replaced the and it’s still having the same issue. Not draining and making a grinding like noise. Same error. Any ideas or help?
There is pressure sensor that can go out that will keep you from draining, but the grinding noises seem off.
@@JCTFIXIT Thank you. I guess it’s not true grinding noise. It is that noise it make when it tried to drain but it doesn’t. I will try this part next.
@@JCTFIXIT Where can I find the pressure sensor on the machine? Can I order the part from you?
What is your washer model?
Thanks problem solved
Glad it helped.
My kitchen almost flooded just now 🤣
Uh oh.
Very Helpful. Thanks alot
No error code, but the mini drain hose is blocked,(no water came out, water came out when we removed the filter to clean) - any tips
Try to blow on it to clear upstream debris.
Thanks !!
You are welcome!
Some washers have a good imbalance sensor, because when the imbalance sensor senses out there's an imbalance, or if the motor is struggling, the cycle stops, and continues, so that code error never happened in my Vestel.
This is not a code usually given for unbalanced load. On LG machines if the load is unbalanced it will throw the code UE..... NOT OE
Good vid
Thanks ron.
You are amazing! Thank you
Thank you!
Fixed it thanks!!!😘😍
So glad it helped you!
The drum on my LG front loader is loose because I washed a small rug and the load was off balance and bounced etc. it is al so making a noise which it didnt before. How can I fix this
Without looking at it in person, your best best is to do a search on your particular issue. Wish I could help more. Good luck!
