    Very informative, i hope someone could give me succulents because here in our place succulents are too expensive and only few were selling and I can't afford to buy.

    So I beheaded my stretched Red Campfire today…Shud I wait for the cut end to callus before putting it in soil?
    And after callus forms do I just pop it in soil or wait for roots to develop like in propagation?

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes let it callus …best is let it air root that will be best …you can even put in soil but you need to be careful not to water untill roots appear so if you confused let it air roots and then put in soil

      @@LushGardener m just scared that like all my failed leaf props, it won’t root :(
      Presently I have shoved one of the calloused heads in dry soil and have others in open to callous…
      Let’s see 🤞🤞

    Hi. I see you have topsy turvy❤️☺️. Can you please share some caring tips for topsy turvy in India, Kolkata in particular. Thankx much. The leaves are rapidly dying off in a pattern.

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mam topsy turvy care is just like any other echeveria but I think the issue your facing is related to climate high temperatures and high humidity......could be the sole reason for the echeveria have issue .....I can suggest move it to. cooler place well draining soil and place it in indirect bright light.....the heat will make it difficult for it to grow ....
      I always suggest people from costal area to focus more on haworthia varieties as they will do very well in your environment
      I hope your topsy recovers soon best wishes

    What about black price succulent, need direct sunlight or kept in shade area

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      echeveria black prince needs full direct morning sun or you can provide filtered afternoon sunlight with the help of green net....
      only then black prince will get the dark colour

      @@LushGardener Also I have an issue in black price that, the top crown section affected with small mealy bugs and few red ants surrounding in crown area.
      What's the proper solutions to get rid of those mealy bugs.

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rakeshpadhy3211 ok m going to make a video in a day or so about it....meanwhile if u have cinnamon powder just sprinkle on the crown area don’t put anything else do this for 2-3 days .....sprinkle the dry powder and wait for 1-2 hours blow of the powder or brush it off with soft brush do the same thing next day ......black prince is very prone to mealy bugs attack ...so always place ur black prince in direct morning sun this will avoid the pest problem and also keep an eye especially when u see ants around that means there are mealy bugs
      Also be careful with watering black prince doesn’t like too much watering
      Also mealy bugs is recurring problem there isn’t a permanent solution no matter what u use so for precaution always sprinkle cinnamon powder on soil once every 3-4 weeks just for precaution.....the more plants are exposed to warm sun the less the mealy bugs will appear as they don’t like warmth....they prefer moist and damp conditions

    Hi LushGardener, (wish I knew your name) I've tried repeatedly to grow my succulents outside and they fade to brown (not burned) in full sun every time but when I bring them indoors under the grow lights and air conditioning they regain their bright colors, much like their mommy, lol 🤣. She doesn't do well in bright sun either.

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hahahah
      my name is Frank …but you can call me lushgardener haha that’s fine 😀…wow that’s strange they turn brown ….what sunlight do they get morning or afternoon…and do you acclimate them and is this during summers ?
      hahah yes I completely understand after coming back from vacation I started gardening like right back from vacation I was so n full panic mode as most of the succulents were dehydrated so I was in full sun ….I got such bad sunburn ….but luckily the tan kinda peeled off with dry skin but it was burning 🫣..
      that’s another draw back of gardening you need to be out the whole day but it’s fun 😂😂

    U keep talking about "morning sun light". What about "evening direct sun light"? Is it ok?

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not that effective mam .... post 4:30 pm or 5 ish isn’t much effective.....succulents need direct sunlight for Atleast minimum 4/5 hours to maintain good colour ( morning sun being mild and healthy)
      If that’s not possible as most people won’t get Morning sunlight then bright light is good .... now bright light longer the better ....
      4:30 pm onwards sunlight isn’t that strong apart from That sunlight won’t stay longer so probably let’s assume 4:30 -5:30-6 ish hardly 1 hour that too weak sunlight not quite good

    After getting succulents from online nurseries they are not rooting even after months. What should I do

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Parimala Manohar mam rooting depends on the type of succulent and also how Porus and lose your soil is if your soil is very compact it wil be difficult for the roots to grow .....plus it always depends upon how fast your succulent has adapted to the new environment and if it has adjusted to the new environment.....another question mam how did u realise the roots aren’t growing just to understand better ?

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Parimala Manohar ok mam probably the succulents soil was very compact .... u need to make it Porus and lose and mam one more thing most succulent roots don’t grow very large they tend to remains short and mostly stays in the mid level of soil that’s how they grow in nature aswell coz water is. Very less and when it rains the water just wets the upper layer of soil in their natural habitat so their roots are usually very short .... but how is the overall health of the succulent.....
