    I got the Bronco Sport Big Bend edition. I don't have time to off road a lot because I am a workaholic. But it has been very capable in the mountains and snow where I live. Had mine almost a week now. 700 miles on it so far.

  • @smarticus6384

    I wasn’t too fond of it initially, but I realized what it’s is and who it competes with in the marketplace and it began making since. It’s meant for someone who just likes a more durable and capable AWD CUV, and not something that fakes it and is far less capable off-road, such as a Trailblazer and Blazer. Now bring on the real Bronco.

    Nice review. FWIW, my 2024 Badlands has a few things missing from his, like rear-passenger USB ports and leather-trimmed seats. So they are available.

    I have the Bronco Sport base. Chose this one because i don’t live in my vehicle, so i didn’t need all the bells and whistles. With that being said. I have taken mine on several off road journeys. The one that stands out the most is the trail going up to Crystal Mill in Colorado. My girl made it up and down with no problem. All the jeep guys going up or coming down didn’t think i would make it. She did extremely well. Handled well on the slopes, big rocks, and the massive puddles. If you have no idea about the trail to Crystal Mill, they have a video on you tube.

    Excellent review and great video production! I am one of those chomping at the bit for a Badlands, and it looks like I'll be doing so until the '22's come out (even with the special factory order I put in, and thanks to the chip shortage). The Badlands model is nearly impossible to find here in SOCAL, and dealers are asking too much for the few First Editions available out there, some with markups over sticker by as much as 15 - 20%.

    A guy I work with bought one of these, he's already talking about putting a big lift on so he can get 35' mud terrain tires on it once it's delivered.
    He's actually been pestering me to help him with tire research because I made the mistake of telling him that I was doing research of my own for a new set of shoes for my jeep this fall.

    • @revmatchtv
      @revmatchtv  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wonder how well 35s will fit?

    • @Hammerhead547
      @Hammerhead547 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@revmatchtv
      I don't think they'll fit well unless he puts at least a 3-4' lift on it so they can clear the fenders and wheel wells with minimum poke.
      I've told him multiple times that he'd be smarter going with the widest 32' rugged terrain's he can find along with a more conservative lift (2-2.5') instead of a 4-4.5' lift and pizza cutter 35' mud terrains like he's planning to do because of ride quality interior noise and the potential issues with stability that could come with a short wheelbased vehicle sitting high on narrow tires could cause.
      At this point I'm beginning to believe that I should've kept my mouth shut about all the tire research i was doing because he keeps asking for my opinions and then disregards them when I tell him what he doesn't want to hear.

    • @j.martin4476
      @j.martin4476 ปีที่แล้ว

      First…. You will never get 35s on this without major mods and cutting and still maybe not even then. Second… this car was not built for that and will likely handle terribly on and off road with 35s if he somehow pulled it off.
      Last… if he really wants 35s just get a damn wrangler or Bronco that was built and intended for that kind of usage. What a knucklehead 😂

    • @revmatchtv

      I haven't driven the Cherokee Trailhawk version. Jeep makes very capable vehicles, especially anything Trailhawk. I'm not a huge fan of the 3.6L V6 power delivery, but it's been quite reliable. I'd think these are going to be very close competitors.

    • @brandonruhl1639

      Cherokee isn’t a competitor to the bronco sport because it’s a little bit larger and it’s got a 3.2L V6 with more power. The Cherokee has a real transfer case with a real low range and a real locking rear differential. The Cherokee beats the Bronco sport at everything offroad

    People compare this to full size off roaders but comparing it to others in its class its at the top. I had a Honda civic sport 2023 and I’m used to a 4cyl. Just for clarity (and because a lot of people don't understand how grades and angles work), when you mentioned the hill being "23-25% grade" then stated it was 24 degrees, those are very different, but related, numbers. The percent grade is the rise over run slope expressed as a percentage with 45 degrees being 100%. That hill was 24 degrees, so it was a 53% grade.
    For example, a highway that is a 6% grade is actually 2.7 degrees.

    Its funny how close the bronco sport looks to the 2nd gen Escape design. The bronco sport is just a tad boxier. The main reason I won't own a bronco sport is the neutered 2200 lb tow capacity with the larger engine. Same engine setup in the escape nets you 3500. Since I have toys to offroad in/on and don't take my vehicle off road it just doesn't fit for me for the asking price of the bronco sport. For 22k out the door I got a '20 ecosport se that has a tow capacity of 2000 which hauls two full size 4x4 atv's on a aluminium trailer. Base model bronco sport is going to put you at 31k+ after taxes and paperwork without rebates. I just didn't see $9k of extra value. The maverick on the other hand seems to be the one to watch.

      The models below the Badlands have the 3 cylinder and lack the twin clutch rear diff. The Badlands has the 2.0 and it’s enough for this chassis. You should can tune it as others have and get a pretty decent hp and torque bump. Next level up you’re looking at Jeep, Toyota, etc

      I haven't compared it back to back with the Renegade, but i did drive a Rendegade last year and this has a superior engine/transmission. I think it is equally or more capable than the Renegade. Definitely less capable than a Wrangler by quite a bit. It's not positioned against it either.

    • @veganpotterthevegan
      @veganpotterthevegan 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@revmatchtv The Renegade has slightly better gearing. But the Bronco has a better computer system controlling traction. Jeep also knows what they have to do to beat out the Bronco now. Ford had a huge advantage by having a target to surpass

    • @veganpotterthevegan
      @veganpotterthevegan 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@revmatchtv I'm guessing they'll at least match the power! They do need to add more hybrids for emissions standards and may get a lot of power to go with that. I have doubts about the interior though. Jeep and Dodge have always been behind everyone else with that. Chrysler really only seems to put competitive interiors in Chrysler(and Mercedes) branded vehicles.

    Hint: Don't call yourself a "car reviewer"... Hurts credibility. Everyone, these days, knows that to guarantee Ford keeps sending you cars to review, you have to stick to the liner notes and not say anything negative... basically, professional car reviewers HAVE to stick to the script or they get skipped in the next model....Same with Harley, Same with Honda...
    Just be honest and begin be telling how you got the vehicle, if you were compensated, etc.

    • @revmatchtv
      @revmatchtv  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I'm a car reviewer, I'm not an 'influencer'. It's Ford press car. I'm not paid for these reviews. I lose money on them. I think it's pretty good vehicle. I don't always have positive things to say about vehicles. I did not like the engine or transmission in the Jeep Renegade and I made that clear in the video. I thought the steering in the Wrangler was bad - also in the video. Also press cars.
