    This car is absolutely spot-on in terms of audio, as well. Watching some of the on-boards of these in real life, aside from the loud wind blowing into the camera mics, it sounds almost identical. Also for future races, these cars actually use rolling starts, if that matters to you.

      Oh that’s great info regarding rolling starts! Thanks!

      @@kevin_m You bet, bud! Was informed that it's related to first gear being pretty weird. Apparently in real life, the drivers even exit the pits in second, as first gear is basically never used in these cars.

      I had no idea they had rolling starts. I never would have thought.

      @@Burl_Hurlbutt You are right, we exit the pits in second gear and our starts are rolling. The main reason for that is safety. Keep in mind that the series was created to give the opportunity for less experienced drivers to race at a professional level; that way, since the car has a manual grearbox and a large rear wing, it could happen of a driver stalling at the start, and with lower visibility for the drivers behind, it was possible to generate a huge accident. That is why the starts are rolling. Further, the series has a big inspiration in Indycar and the Road to Indy program, which also has rolling starts ;D

      @@GSSimRacing Hey, just watched the video! What a great review. I had the opportunity to race in the first season of the series, and today I am a driver's coach for upcoming drivers that wish to race in Formula Inter. I can say that the car is a real blast to race in real life as well... I was only annoyed to have finished P12 at your race!! LOL... Jokes aside, I really liked your review, great content.

    Yeah I must agree Gary. Just did an online race with her and it is perfect for almost any track. well done man

      Thanks dude. Yeah these cars are really nice. I would say it would be epic around Oulton Park too...another track that is constantly changing direction.

    u have a talent....talking and racing at the same time...i watch other sim youtubers and they say nothing....love this vid too i just bought Automobilista 2 regreting now not geting the DLC full pack....anyways keep it up

    • @GSSimRacing
      @GSSimRacing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for the kind words. Yeah you should get the dlc if you can. The content is really really good and you'll definately get your moneys worth. All of the dlc content is top quality too. The racing USA pack will open uo oval racing, and not only the old champ cars, but some of the in game cars have oval configurations too. So your unlocking another tier of racing, as well as content (cars and tracks) with that one dlc pack.

    I'm not a fan of open wheelers but I like this one & to get it for free, as it were , is a real plus for AMS2. Next thing I need to learn is how to drive like you :)

    • @GSSimRacing
      @GSSimRacing  ปีที่แล้ว

      It the perfect car for learning car control. It is slow enough to be forgiving, yet demands a dynamic and predictive driving input...and it sort of allows you to do this to an extent. Deffo one of the best cars I have ever driven in sim racing. AMS2 never fails to disappoint.

    Spent last couple nights doing some TT times on Interlagos, Brands, Donington. Really fun car at the limit eh Gary!?

    • @GSSimRacing
      @GSSimRacing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amazing car at the limit. I must do the time trials and see how I get on. They actually look like a fun car to drive in real life. Like a fast go kart with an aero package on there.

    Fantastic car. Were you driving with paddle shifters?

    • @GSSimRacing
      @GSSimRacing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah paddle shifters. I don't have a stick (yet). Possibly my next investment.

    • @lugs118

      @@GSSimRacing it’s still very drivable with paddles and auto clutch but I don’t think AMS2 has auto blip? I know you will understand what going full manual brings to this type of car but I’m genuinely blown away by they way it’s been implemented by Reiza. As well as rev matching to deal with the down shift to the slightly short second gear I’ve also been staying in third for some corners and applying an occasional bit of clutch slip to keep it in the power band. It’s such a well balanced and fun car however you drive it, but if anyone gets a chance to go full manual it’s well worth it.

      This goes to show that sim racing is a game of opinions. Again I find this to be unrealistically slidey much like most of the AMS 2 cars. Glad that you like it!

    • @lugs118
      @lugs118 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@edwhalley5 while I find many of the cars in AMS2 to be disconnected from the road with that ‘slidey’ feel, this is one of the most well sorted I have driven in a long time. It’s a real shame that there is such a difference across developer only content.

    • @GSSimRacing
      @GSSimRacing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@edwhalley5 if you look at axgalassi's response to Burl's post below, his students and colleagues reckon the car is spot on to real life and simulated perfectly. And those guys race the real car. So I can accept that personal taste in a car plays a part, I think we have to assume Reiza must have gotten this one pretty close to real life. I have said before that some of the slidey feeling that AMS2 exhibits is not too far off real life either when you go over the limit. Some cars in AMS2 appear overdone though.
