Cars, tracks, and other features are included in the sim because the developers _enjoy_ them, not primarily due to market decisions. - The tires have a good sense of play in them, so I can experiment with different lines through a corner instead of always having to drive in a certain manner. - In a motion rig, the car movement in AMS2 feels more natural than any other sim I've tried. - Historic content, especially historic Formula One
AMS2 is slowly becoming a bit of a gem. The F1 & Cart content (especially with the amazing amount of high quality complete seasons of skin / AI mods) is outstanding.
I always think it's strange that people say "it's not like this so, de facto, it's not realistic". No sim title is fully realistic because sims push nearly all the information through the FFB & that's entirely UNrealistic but is the common way we all use to determine slips, slides et al. AMS2 is as sophisticated & complex as any yet (& I think this is due to the quite strange aversion a certain Broadbent fellow has to the game engine) it is often called "arcadey" & "unrealistic"....my son, who's a kart & gaming enthusiast, summed things up with RF2 is arcadey, ACC is stuttery & "samey" (he thought all the cars sounded the same), AC is old & graphically below par, even with the modded updates. His faves are R3E & AMS2, the former for feel & the latter for variation & optimisation. The point is we all have our preferences; for me AMS2 has 700+ hours & the nearest next is ACC with 60+. That AMS2 has to prove itself against a very spurious 'standard' is strange: it's a sim in its own right & for me the most intuitive to drive, for what that's worth. For the record I have played them all except iRacing so I can't comment on that sim.

If you are a casual driver you will enjoy this game but if you like to go to the limit is very hard cause in this game to go fast you need to have an oversteering setup and you can easily spin with kerbs so it’s very hard to go in world records time
I really love the dynamic ever changing track and tires, attention to detail is great since they are using the true potential of the project cars 2 engine
I really like AMS2. I can enjoy it with epic graphics without blowing up my pc. Still i feel that some cars feel like ice skating. And also, no "save" option during races. I love endurance races but I can't play for 4 hours ( family comes first).
i was hesitant to try anything other than assetto corsa which i was most familiar with, but decided to install ams2 few days ago because i saw they have some fun open wheelers. now i'm addicted LOL ! raced bunch of formula 1 different gens and f3. i find 2019 f1 version brutally fast and handy. haven't tried stock cars yet but can't stop playing endurance multi class. i just did several hour long races with prototypes and gte class on spa, laguna seca, daytona, long beach, nurburgring... getting used to insta-stop brakes ☺ i counted 27 different tracks in ams2 that i know from my previous sim racing experiences, need to start learning those brazilian ones...was positively surprised when i found out they also have estoril and suzuka but under different names haha

There is a pro driver in Brazil (that raced in Stock Car Brasil and now is Felipe Massa's test driver) called Vitor Genz. He love simulation and experienced all sims on market. He says that ALL sims are flawed in physics, but AMS2 is one of the "less flawed". The reason that pushes him to iRacing and ACC is the multiplayer, that sucks (in comparison) in Reiza's sim. Simply as that
@@aubreycolemanracing Genz use to focuses on multiplayer racing for his channel. I, on the other hand, only race on AMS2 exactly because don't do multiplayer anymore. Personally I really want Reiza to improve their MP, because the future of AMS2 can depend on it. Cheers!

Those who complain and talk about the physics of the game. Are they real racing drivers? Don't listen to those people. I enjoy AMS and also own rFactor 2 and both Assetto Corsa titles. This one stands out for me because it looks great and runs very smooth with 30 cars on the track easily. The force feed back though is a little weak and doesn't give me enough feedback. Nice video.
Vr is working so smooth in this game and you dont have to loose lots of hours to set it up…. it is plug and play and that is why i love it… oh and driving is awsome too 💪💪❤️❤️🔥🔥
I've had this with the expensive complete DLC since early access, and I've never even launched it - I really must start getting into it, but I only get 2 to 3 hours of free time in a week so I always tend to go to ACC as it's the one I know.
The only thing i miss are some mainstream tracks to drive on. Like the half of the F1 calender is missing, if only they can add those or allow mods for tracks (like rF2 or Assetto) it would be an amazing game!
I’ve had this since the Early Access. However, the promised “Career Mode” has yet to be released and won’t be for another two years! It is great for TT and just race the AI but there is still no purpose. I love the old F1 cars but since there is no modding, they all look the same which is counter to the real F1 where they have many differences in detail looks Overall it is not too bad.
Good vid man, I'm relatively new to AMS2 and only do TTrials atm, but I think I've found my perfect sim game, so I'm willing to invest in it and VR is the main pro with AMS2, so my question is, How much would it cost me (in Pounds Sterling) to get myself set up in VR? And is the normal (non VR) TT the same as VR or are they separate? Also what's your name in the TT? I'm really impressed with AMS2s commitment to patching/upgrading this game quickly. Time trials are the same, VR or not, and if you have a fairly good pc, the best value VR headset is the HP Reverb G2, it's about $960 aus, Nd has incredible clarity for the price, and very comfortable headset. You don't need light bases with this headset.👍
If you have a capable PC and you are on a budget, I recommend a Quest 2. Don't know the price in GBP. If you also need a wheel and seat, I recommend Thrustmaster T300 RS GT and a Playseat Challenge. The complete package without PC is around 1000 EUR.
If you have decent PC get quest 2 or rift S. If your computer is from nasa you can get something with higher resolution. I have alienware laptop with rtx 3080 and I can run this maxed out with Rift SS at 1.9. (the only sim I can max out actually)...I think if I had a better VR I'd have to lower graphics. I paid 15,000 yen (80ish GBP) for my rift used from yahoo auction and I had zero issues. Also steering I have Thrustmaster TX with leather steering and the better pedals and I paid about 20,000jpy for that around 100gbp.. I'd say go for cheap first. Buy used and if you get hooked up you can slowly upgrade. If you buy used odds are you can always sell them for about same price
Great video. Watched from start to finish. How was the move from the TS-PC to the DD? Is it a major difference? Are you running it with increased power, or stock?

@@JoTheTechie because the dd is direct drive, there is way more detail, and feeling in the wheel. Also direct drive wheels are very very smooth, no cogging. If you do end up getting a dd, I'd highly recommend the 8nm upgrade, and use a metal quick release hub for any of the wheels you put on the dd.
I only like the classic content, cars and tracks. As well as the better then most VR support. I do play it most these days because of those reasons but it’s not my favorite feeling game. Other then the Champ cars I don’t care for the ffb at all. It still reminds me of PC2 sometimes and that frustrates me to the point I just close the game out and move on.
I haven’t got the sim but I want to(when it goes on sale)because of the new f1 car and because vr is good like you said but the only point I might disagree with a little is the physics cause in some of the videos I have watched the f1 car seems to grippy and a little quicker then real life counterparts

Since the release of the 2022 F1 style cars, I cannot stop playing AMS2. I play it on triple screens, which works flawlessly. 👍

Big difference moving from ts-pc to csl dd, I run it at 8nm, has great detail.

It's ok, I still prefer rfactor 2 for gte/lmp and acc for gt3.
