Wow! On behalf of our family, thank you so very much for this amazing tribute. I’m his big brother and so proud of him and truly saddened that he didn’t get to see all of the love from everyone.. This is a wonderful edit and again on behalf of Rays family, all of us are so grateful. Thank you 🙏
I have no way of knowing if this is real but if it is, I’m in tears. You are the ever most welcome, my condolences to your family and may your incredible brother rest in peace. All the best.
I wish we could have seen more from him. But, he sees all the love and appreciates it. Physical Death is just another part of our journey in life, and he is still with us in spirit.
Ray truly was brilliant. He stole every single scene he was part of. Even though we knew nothing of this character, he managed to convey so much depth, it became uncanny. May he rest in peace. Thanks for making this Pano, you did an amazing job as always.
Honestly looking back it, he might have been the best actor to take part of the whole star wars live action. So much said, so much conveyed with so little words.
Phenomenal actor. Don't know anything about his personal life, but I do know he could act. He brought life to this character in a similar way to Alec Guinness in the original Star Wars. He captures every scene he's in. I feel bad for whoever has to replace him as Baylan. I almost feel like they will write his character out completely and make it a total mystery as to what happens. No matter who is put into the role, people will compare them to Ray.
Simply the actor puts in the gravitas to express the struggle alot of older and seasoned adults feel with their job and society in general..the knowledge of past mistakes but being in the present to forge a different outcome with the future...
I don't know how you replace this guy if you want to going forward. He stole every scene he was in. He took the role seriously and man, he is going to be a fan favorite forever.
RIP to an amazing man who brought so much to star wars in such little time. He did to star wars what disney wishes rei would do but never could. Baylan ... rip
On one hand i don't want a recast because of how amazing Ray performed until the end. His legacy his last role. And then i really want to learn more about Baylan Skoll he seems like such an intersting character. If they should recast the role then maybe Vincent Regan would be a good choice
I am honestly shocked how quickly he became one of my all time favorite characters in Star Wars. Genuinely a stunning performance. A deep character with tons of mystery and backstory. Ray, thank you for the impact you've had on this universe.
Never underestimate an old man in a profession where young men die. He is as old as Anakin would have been, to survive so long is simply incredible. I wonder if he could meet Luke just once, and see the Chosen One's legacy in all it's splendor.
Ray was phenomenal in the series, and it’s a shame that we won’t be able to see more of him. Yet we can be very grateful and humbled that his last performance was to be a part of a great franchise, and his legacy will live on forever. #StarWarsForever #RIP
Well said. Don't be sad that Ray won't be around to play the part........ Be HAPPY it happened. In a DARK time for producing good Star War characters, Ray was a beacon of LIGHT! R.I.P Ray
I loved everything about this character. His pressence, his costume design (loved how he looked more like a medieval knight than a monk) his delivery of lines. Everything about him was on point. Even people who ultimently did not like the series have to concede he was great. I do not envy the next actor who has to fill in his shoes.
R.I.P. Ray Stevenson. He did an excellent job playing Baylan Skoll, he will be missed. Baylan is one of the greatest, if not the greatest characters of this show
It truly is a tragedy that he's dead. May his performance live in our memories, like those of Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, and others whose work made this franchise great.
Loooved this so much man. Baylan Skoll had a fascinating mystery to him and a undeniable truth to his philosophy. The music you selected here had a melancholy to it that matched his essence so well! I still can't believe Ray Stevenson isn't with us anymore. A true tragedy because he's not here to receive the overwhelming love from this fanbase for his outstanding performance. Although he can *never* be replaced, I truly hope that whoever carries this character forward not only does Baylan justice, but does Ray justice as well.
With such a brilliant actor it's difficult to see who else could have possibly pulled off a character like Skoll besides him. Such a great character and such a great edit. Love this tribute, mate!
Baylan is truly the best aspect of the Ahsoka show. I hope his story will continue. He could end up being one of the greatest characters. Rip Ray Stevenson the 🐐
This was perfection. I’m obsessed with the music you found for it. Baylan quickly became one of my favorite Star Wars characters due to Ray’s performance. You did him justice.
By far one of my favorite recent Star Wars characters, Ray was a perfect casting for the character. His demeanor, His tone, Hell even his physical build (He's VERY BROAD SHOULDERED) Just give me full on knight vibes. It's really a damn shame in a general sense that he passed away and in an acting sense, glad we got to see him introduce us to this absolutely stellar character before he left us far too soon. Rest in Peace Ray Stevenson, Wish you could've seen the positive response everyone has had for you! (This tribute is absolutely perfect and emphasizes how amazing many of the scenes he had were)
I loved how his design made him look more akin to a europeon medieval knight rather than monk (like most Jedi). Whenever I think Jedi, I tend to think swift, nimble, finesse based martial arts. This guy was not only quick, but he also conveyed an intimidating raw physical strength. All of this backed up with one hell of a performance. This guy was easily the best new addition.
As cool as it was to see him in his baggy Dark Jedi robes when Ahsoka first approached him, I'm glad they gave him a fur cloak and let his face be seen for the last scene.
i went into ahsoka blind, thought "ah im sure it will have some fun moments even if its bad like alot of star wars content these days". i immediately loved Ray as Baylan, i was telling my mates things like "im like 3 episodes in, its a decent show.. only one really good character carrying the show" and that was baylan. such a shame to then find out Ray had actually passed away and we would not get to see more of him going forward. i dont know how they can replace him
Man it is incredible he is the real villain we never got. It is so interesting to see a darksider that is obviously very wise and calculating. Ray Stevenson's performance was so far above the writing for the show. I really wish we could get more conflicted villains like this. His portrayal of strength within uncertainty is unmatched.
Those monologues, the whole idea and depth of his character's motives truly stuck with me. Great actor, may he rest in peace. But he should be recasted,to honor his work. We miss you Ray Stevenson.
Disney caught lightning in a bottle with this king. The man carries himself like he stepped out of Highlander. We were all of us robbed with his passing.
RIP Ray, man brought a new character to life that has now placed itself among some of the greatest written characters Star Wars has ever produced. It's a shame that he will never know how much we love his character, as he reminds me of Qui-Gon Jinn if whe leaned more towards the darkside, a mirror counterpart. Rest Well Ray.
RIP Ray Stevenson. Such a great actor for a fantastic character! Also fantastic tribute as always!! You gave me a few ideas for my version. I hope... mine also includes stuff from mortis as well. But mine will be different of course. Also nice touch at 2:50 with the daughter and the son and father.
My favourite new character in SW and best character in Ahsoka imo. Stevenson brought so much depth, complexity and strength to his role. While I'm gutted he is no longer with us and he never got to see the appreciation he gained, at least his performance has been immortalised on film
I watch this at least once maybe twice a week and I love it.... Rest in piece to a man who revived starwars for a few hours of screen time.... Rest easy
Man, to think Baylan and Shin would be these new characters we've never heard of before and yet have us truly captivated. Captivated with the potential Lore that may yet surround them. Baylan's PTSD and longing for the family the Jedi Order once gave him is... a tragedy on its own.
Dude I was watching this and so many ideas were flooding through my mind. Then I saw the comments and learned the actor had sadly died. If disney had done all these shows instead of the sequel trilogy to build all the lore up, and then given us a proper sequel trilogy THIS GUY would've been the best fucking villain ever. I can just imagine a ragtag team of Ahsoka, Ezra, Sabine, old Luke, and maybe Grogu coming together to fight Baylan Skoll. Now we'll just have to constantly have the thought of "I wonder what Baylan's up to atm" for every star wars release after this. That said I hope his character doesn't get recast. He plays the old man tired of even older broken systems so well. May he rest in peace.
"power greater then their own" shows the father chills the fact that hes going after the three is just down right amazing. the dudes trying to find mortise
I don’t know they will continue with his character, however Ray has been my favorite force user he has so much potential for his own series. either live action or animation his story must be continued
This is ab amazing edit ❤. Baylan is one of my favourite characters of all time not just in SW, I love how he is isn’t good nor bad and how he pretty much always has the main focus on him from the audience no matter what scene he is in ❤❤. He give be a little bit of Qui Gon and Dooku vibes. RIP Ray Stevenson, you will be missed ❤ I hope they don’t recast your character as you are irreplaceable 🙏😢
Had so little time there but left you wanting more. One of the very few things good in Ahsoka. Always Titus Pullo to me, wish could’ve seen more as Baylan Skoll. Rest in peace Ray, you are missed.
RIP Ray. He brought such an amazing performance that im convinced he is one of the best parts of Ahsoka I wish he is revealed to actually have been Darth Vader's secret apprentice, i would love that

Thirteeeeenn!!! RIP Ray. You will be missed by all.
I wish we could have seen more from him. But, he sees all the love and appreciates it. Physical Death is just another part of our journey in life, and he is still with us in spirit.
Baylan was by far my favorite character in Ahsoka. Hopefully Disney honors Ray by continuing his character.
And hopefully they don’t use AI bullshit and are opting for a recast
@HenryLouis21 yeah I don't think they'd do smth like that lol
@@HenryLouis21i think the best way to do it would be giving him an animated series or something like that
Liev Schrieber could work as a recast
@@german_mf you think it would be best if only a few ppl will see the end of his story?

100%. He was the only reason I stuck with the series. It’s sad he won’t be back. 😔

You don't, they should leave this story arch a mystery.
Damn Ray was just so SO good. Recasting Baylon is possibly the hardest thing Filoni’s chapter of Star Wars has to do yet.
I don't know how you replace this guy if you want to going forward. He stole every scene he was in. He took the role seriously and man, he is going to be a fan favorite forever.
There are no irreplaceables, only unforgettable ones.
I agree, his performance was a standout of the Disney era

Dude carried this show lowkey. He really was able to convey the idea that his character was going through some serious shit and made it believable.
Not lowkey. He was the only interesting character. I basically put every scene without Ray in it on 10x, LOL!

A truly powerful and charismatic character. His appearance in Star Wars was refreshing and fun to watch.

Excellent edit, really captivates the feelings of Baylan. RIP
He just screams Knight , Such a shame he will never play Mordred
Disney has created exactly 2 good characters in the past 10 years, and it's a damn shame that the actor for one of them had to die.
Just finished the first season of Ahsoka. The character of Baylan Skoll is so well executed, the writing, appearance, acting. Everything was on point.
These 3 minutes of video are much better than the last 3 star wars movies....

Best character in Star Wars in the past 20 years.
Baylan resonates so well because we can all empathize. We’ve seen our world crumble. We miss the idea of it. But we knew it was always inevitable.
This should have 100000000 views. The edit is so well done. The music choice spectacular. Fitting. Epic.
Thank you!
This man was legendary. Rest in peace.
The only person who could closely pick up the mantle would be Gerard Butler.
