Crosshair he learned about his mistakes and he redeemed himself because his loyalty was returned something the empire never did but his brothers and mostly Omega did. And even though he lost his most important thing in life, in return he got at least peace and a nice rest after a whole journey
"It is not our abilities that show who we truly are. It is our choices." -Albus Dumbledore Crosshair was without a doubt the best part of season 3. What they did with him is nothing less than fantastic character development. Who he was when he first showed up in Clone Wars vs who he is at the end of Bad Batch is that perfect mix of recognizable yet different. He's still not a warm presence, but he's no longer the guy who would've left Echo for dead at the Citadel. His relationship with Omega was also fantastic. She's the hopeful (sometimes naive) idealist and he's the pessimistic realist. But she never gave up on him, even when he had given up on himself. Like being a guinea pig for the Empire was his karma for all the evil deeds he's done. And giving him that twitch was genius. It was as much to take his ego down a few notches ("We're not like the regs. We're superior.") as it was to show that Hemlock's experiments were so barbaric that they scarred even someone like Crosshair on a very deep level. For once in his life, Crosshair doubted himself. He doubted his abilities. He doubted he was good enough despite being the best sniper in the Clone Army. And y'know what? That made him human.
Gosh crosshair’s little speech about how clone force 99 died with tech, and then the edit of tech’s “plan 99” with hunter’s “don’t think about doing plan 99” TEARS, i hope they were all able to truly grieve tech together
If you ask me, the clones have really come a long way. Even if they are fictional TV characters. From Epsiode II Attack of the Clones to so many more years in the actual Star Wars storyline
That redemption arc for Crosshair was just beautiful. That was prime story telling and character development. So well written, of course so superb voice acting too. Could pickup the subtle differences in his speaking and tone as his story progressed.
Ok wait the little change in the subtitles from control to protect was so subtle but that’s my favorite part so far! Crosshair is my favorite Bad Batcher and you’ve done him justice here :). Ahhh I could watch this repeatedly and not get bored
I don’t think I’ve seen such an incredible redemption arc in animation since Zuko. Seeing him go through all of this, all this violence and carnage…yet he came back to his brothers and sister. Beautifully well done
despite all the certain highs-and-lows of Star Wars media - the animation department never let up on giving up that charm to what made CW, TOTJ/E, BB masterpieces. a good ending.
the overlay of tech when they mentioned plan 99 😭 i wish every day that Crosshair could have seen tech again after kamino and that final shot of all of them on pabu just makes my heart hurt knowing they’re forever changed
Crosshair is what Star Wars live action needs, best character development in a long time especially the call backs in “the return” episode mayday and Cody sparked the fire in him, omega fueled it later and now he’s a beautiful flame
8:15 this is one of the most beautiful frames I’ve ever seen in all of Star Wars. I love that Omega taught Crosshair to meditate in order to help with the psychological damage he had suffered, being at one with your mind is so good for you.
I’m one of the fans that like the idea of the inhibitor chips, but Crosshair is THE best example for why it wasn’t necessary to begin with. The complexity of his character is probably a reflection of all the clones that would’ve followed Order 66 without the inhibitor chips.
Excellent edit! I only wish you included the scene with Wrecker and Tech at Kamino: “All that time and you didn’t even TRY to come back! We still would’ve taken ya.” “Let it go Wrecker. Crosshair has always been severe and unyielding. It’s his nature” Was one of my favorite scenes about Crosshair in the show
Anyone is capable of being redeemed, they need to be willing to view all perspectives to discern what's wrong vs. what's right. Eventually, experience will change that, and that's exactly what happened to Crosshair. Amazing Edit!
Man I love crosshair so much, always found him the most interesting but his season three arc made me love him for new reasons. His redemption means so much to me and in ways I identify with him. I’m so glad he didn’t die and got the happy ending he ended up earning. I was prepared to bawl if he died. Shame he lost his hand but the poetry of it is just beautiful. Glad he doesn’t need to be the perfect shot anymore, even if it’s sick asf.
Now that I’ve just seen this it really makes me think how crosshair has gotten this far, both with his brothers and the Empire and what he really has become when he betrayed his brothers before and then months later the Empire after they betrayed him and so despite how discouraged he was he really does make up for what he had done in the past and basically became a hero *I actually had tears from this, the editing was awesome*
Not to mention as well that he had also matured because before, he never liked, or gave a crap about the regs and would leave them behind “no point in carrying dead weight”, but then a spark in him lit and he cared about Mayday and refused to leave him behind
brother, ive got goosebumps! Im a filmmaker myself, currently producing a film about traveling, and I wish I could tell my story as good as you told crosshairs. Just wanted to let you know that you are inspiring others out there, including myself! This is a masterpiece
you really did a good job. For me Crosshair is a character who had one of the best developments in Star Wars, very well represented in this video in fact 😉. He is at the beginning the good soldier who follows orders without ever discussing them in the first season, then he doubts in season 2 of his role in the empire until understanding what he really represents for them thanks to the words of Cody, Mayday and Lieutenant Nolan. Finally in season 3 returning to his former brothers and redeeming his mistakes.
I loved how when he was saying "The Empire can't protect the galaxy...", the word protect "glitched", and flashed control instead. Remarkable edit! Great job!
Oh wow. This is so good. Like, the editing, the pacing, the parallels, everything… just wow. 4:28 - Love this. Crosshair knows he made his choice, and now he’s living through the consequences… 7:55 - Goodness, this whole section with Crosshair and Omega’s relationship. He trusts her now, because she believed in him. Because she didn’t give up or leave him behind, like he thought the others did. And that trust, that bond between them… 8:40 - …gave him the strength to take the shot. 9:02 - Not gonna lie, I started getting teary-eyed here. Lovely timing with the hug and the music. Truly amazing. Thank you for making this!
Always had hope for Crosshair and in the end, my wish came true. I'm glad he saw sense in the end and after everything he's been through, I'm happy he finally returned to where he truly belongs - back with his brothers and sister! And seeing him wear his OF armor symbolised that and it brought a big smile to my face! Well done Crosshair; your redemption is finally complete and I'm glad you finally found peace not just for yourself, but also your brothers!
Absolutely stunning, my friend! Crosshair's journey is one of the greatest Star Wars plots in quite some time and within this vid you've managed to capture so much emotion and complete goosebumps from this incredible series. A MASTERPIECE as ALWAYS
Great video. Crosshair’s definitely one of the best and most dynamic characters Star Wars has made in a long time. One slight missed opportunity I think you had with this video was highlighting the contrast between his earliest interactions with Omega and his final shot to free her from Hemlock. He started out with lines like “aim for the kid” in Reunion and “letting a kid call the shots? Bad move” in Kamino Lost, and by the end, he was fully trusting her to call his shot that he was worried about making because he could have accidentally shot her.
this was absolutley stunning if he sacrificed himself in the end on tantiss that would have been very honorable arc. I enjoyed watching this 100x more than the show itself.
There’s a reason why I chose this username. One day, someone told me I had the personality of him. He was right. Even before seasons 2 and 3 came out, he was right. I had a very similar character arc irl. This is who I am. Good soldiers… …sometimes don’t follow orders.

Crosshair really did redeem himself after all of this time
Not gonna lie your Yoda Tribute is your best masterpiece
He was under mind control in the beginning until he removed his chip offscreen 😂
I knew he would
"Permission to Leave"; Lt. Nolan?
Finally a redemption in Star Wars, where the character doesn‘t get killed off immediately after he becomes good again.
I can think of a few others.
Kalius was the only one that comes to mind
Ventress and Bo Katan are two others I can think of though I know calling Bo redeemed is a controversial opinion.
Instead of sacrificing himself he simply lost his hand, like Sasuke
I agree!😊😊😊
Mayday and Cody were the main reason for Crosshair's redemption
Mayday came for only one episode and I will remember that clone forever
A couple of regs. He learned to appreciate them after all
Crosshair he learned about his mistakes and he redeemed himself because his loyalty was returned something the empire never did but his brothers and mostly Omega did. And even though he lost his most important thing in life, in return he got at least peace and a nice rest after a whole journey
Hope there will be one more clone story , mybe about rex and cody or wolf .
Right
The catalyst was Omega
I'm proud of Crosshair.
Thanks lol

this is great work!!
