    I hate to be the bearer of bad news but in the latest updates are a lot of the settings that get disabled often get ignored because Microsoft don't want people actually turning them off. It has also been proven that a lot of policy registry settings get ignored also. What Microsoft could and should have done was to keep Windows 7 going forever. Then if people wanted Cortana or Candy Crush or anything else then paid or free modules could be downloaded from a website, NOT from a stupid Windows joke store. That way the whole Windows 8 wacky town with charm bars would have been avoided. Windows 10 would never have happened.

      I couldn't agree more. They seem to be dropping the ball quiet a bit. They have recently gaven 64 bit Win7 users DX12 ! Now they are offering extended support to Win7 users for a fee. I used to be a Win10 insider before I quit with how unworkable this OS was. I'll just keep using Win7.

    Unless you are a AAA title gamer and/or locked into Adobe Creative suite, there really is no good reasons not to switch to Linux.
    Windows 10 is a war on privacy and we all fight these settings on a continual basis if we choose to stay on Windows.
    I wonder how long it will be before Brian moves his channel to focus on Linux tutorials?
    With Windows 10, at some point, we need to say enough is enough.
    No, Microsoft, you can't have my data without my permission (because that's not ok).

    • @RowlandOConnor
      @RowlandOConnor 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@kumar-wx5tk good point. And there are choices when considering Google. That's another topic though.
      The right to personal data privacy is not negotiable IMHO. There is no excuse for companies deliberately hoovering personal data for their own commercial gain.
      Unfortunately, these companies will continue to push legal and etchical boundaries on data collection whilst the general online community continues with apathetic attitudes to their own personal data.
      However, for those of us that care about our personal data, there are positive steps that can be taken to thwart the ongoing march towards more and more unwelcome data collection.
      Surrender might be some peoples decision (which I respect), its just not a decision that is acceptable for me.🤓

    Nowdays upon fresh install of Windows 10 you can acctually chose to not install Cortana and a few other features that didn't use to have an option to avoid them. At least if you install when not connected (take out ethernet cables and deactivate and wi-fi hub) then chose to install with a local account. Still Cortana can sneak back and be installed later along with major updates which is bad.
