Hey guys, I have the same issue. I don't have the Default, Sam, Security etc... hives, and I think it has something to do with the fact that Microsoft made the change that they're not updating regback folders automatically anymore. I would say just move on to the next fix, as you need to have those regback hives with values that are not zero in order for it to work. (btw, currently trying the check disk fix and it's not going well 🥲 it's stuck on stage 4 for a while now
These things in the video are really the last thing one should be doing but if they aren't working, you might have problems with your components such as cpu,gpu,ram etc..

try to hold the power button until it shutdown then turn it on again while it still load just tap space bar until it tells "diagnosing pc" then it well lead you to blue window named "startup repair" then follow the instructions from the vid

You should, you could probably end up causing more harm then good so just return back. I would recommend taking it to someone if it doesn’t work after you’ve tried all the different repair methods it could be something with you RAM or the inner parts of your computer
Im mad at myself for not finding this sooner. My Dad said we had to FACTORY RESET. But we got all the important stuff on a memory stick. And the issue is, there's an error as its not going back into my PC!! I had 4 years worth of good memories and stuff :(
At about 9:50, you mention if the registery files display 0 instead of values, one has to return to the advanced tools. My system shows "0" and I tried the other suggestions in the video without success. Any further suggestions?
Oh my gosh thank you! All I had to do was boot and configure the SYSTEM partition into a separate letter Volume. I believe the previous windows application was found, fixed and rebuilt into that volume and I was able to get back to my laptop running back on Windows 10! Thank you from someone who 1. Accidentally updated to Windows 11 2. See that 11 screwed and slowed down my laptop 3. Tried to go back to Windows 10, but ended up being in the previous version loop 4. Did the Boot Configuration step here and now feeles stress free...for now until Windows somehow stresses me over again
on the last one you said if the numbers dont show up or anything turn off the thingy and go back to advanced options. Like okay? I did then what just be there?
The issue is you don't have backup files probably because they were turned off at some point, and you are pretty screwed in this regard. You can't overwrite files with files you don't have.

i did the restore point step and it told me the system restore failed and then it rebooted my computer and my computer seems fine now. Im scared to shut off my computer now. Is this normal?
HELLO TECH! Am an avid Subscriber, you are my first 'Go to' when diagnosing PC issues! I recently built a new Computer in my old Tower with a new Raidmax Vampire 1000W 80 Plus Gold Power Supply, an MSI Z390-A PRO Motherboard with an Intel Pentium Gold Processor G5400 CPU @ 3.7GHz! Next added 64.0 GB DDR4 3200 Ram! Also a ZOTAC GAMING GeForce GTX 1 Video Card! Recently upgraded all my HHD's with an Intel 660p Series M.2 1 TB SSD Drive C and two WD I TB internal SSD's! My Computer now boots up completely for a cold start in 30 seconds!!!! (Once in a while when I turn it on, it Boots into the Bios Screen)!!!(But when I wont to boot into Bios, no matter what key combination I press it wont go into Bios on Command)! Windows will not display on my Digital Monitor but I can see the Bios Screen on another HDMI Output to my 32 inch TV! Am running XMP Mode and Gaming Mode on the MSI along with allocating 3/4 of my Ram to Process my Adobe Premiere 2022! My Question is: How do I get the computer to Boot into Windows EVERY TIME? And secondly, How do I get my computer to boot into Bios on command?
@@ZachLF i had to reformat mine. since in my case I accidentally unplugged the charger as my laptop was updating, therefore the update was interrupted halfway, corrupting my files.
Posting this in case someone else has the same experience. I did almost all five of these fixes (except for boot config and restore registry), including the system restore point (it gave me the pop up at 2:25 saying the system restore was completed successfully but then, when I restarted, I got another BSOD). So nothing worked. Tried a few other things after that, including check disk, but still nothing. Then I turned off my computer for a day, came back today, and I got the same BSOD "Critical_Service_Failed". Then it did the automatic repair loop once, restarted, then it booted up again and it said "Getting windows ready". I had never seen that before. After a few minutes, it seems like everything was back to normal. I could log into my computer again, all my files and programs were there, and even though it didn't work last night, when I logged in this morning, I got the confirmation shown at 2:34 that the system restore worked.... even though it didn't last night... But I'm not sure what actually fixed it... any ideas?
While doing bootrec /fixboot, the command prompt says "Access is denied" Update: I decided to go back into the bios to check if the problem was secure boot. After I restarted, I got a message saying "Your PC/Device needs to be repaired. at this point I was fine just resetting, but after going back into the recovery environment, I saw the reset option, and a whole lot of other options were not there. Somebody please help!

Hey TechBern, it seems like you have a very good idea with what’s going on. For me, when i check the list vol option, volume 0 isn’t labeled recovery, it is labeled Windows-SSD. Is that a problem, and if so, how can i make it a recovery instead of a Windows-SSD?
dang i’m having a similar problem where my volume 0 isn’t labeled as anything and when I try to do the next bcdboot step it says failure when attempting to copy files

@@NotfreeZyYT mine’s now perfectly working. None of the options in this video work. You just have to make a bootable usb/flashdrive. Plug it in to your pc/laptop. When the blue screen appears, find the “use a device” option so you can select the bootable drive you made. You’ll a bunch of tutorials like here in yt anyway. Good luck!
Hey, after I assign “z” to Vol 1 (my labelled recovery volume), and I type bcdboot c:\windows /s z: /f ALL” I get an error. It says “failure when attempting to copy boot files” What should I do?
I don’t have a recovery partition. But my D: drive is assigned to volume 0, witch is very strange. I only store data on the D: drive and my windows installation is on C:.

If you don't have the five files, you need to try another fix. That's what he means.
Second option takes a while on stage 4 just have to be patient

Im mad at myself for not finding this sooner. My Dad said we had to FACTORY RESET. But we got all the important stuff on a memory stick. And the issue is, there's an error as its not going back into my PC!! I had 4 years worth of good memories and stuff :(
At about 9:50, you mention if the registery files display 0 instead of values, one has to return to the advanced tools. My system shows "0" and I tried the other suggestions in the video without success. Any further suggestions?

Oh my gosh thank you! All I had to do was boot and configure the SYSTEM partition into a separate letter Volume. I believe the previous windows application was found, fixed and rebuilt into that volume and I was able to get back to my laptop running back on Windows 10!

The issue is you don't have backup files probably because they were turned off at some point, and you are pretty screwed in this regard. You can't overwrite files with files you don't have.

Well i was trynna play gta 5 then i got a BSOD for tdr loke 2 times so i downloaded a microsoft app to update all my drives it updated everything but then opera GX which has all my passwords couldn't open so i couldn't log into steam or epic or rockstar so i tried reg restore then deleted the latest quality update coz u know... Microsoft is Microsoft... Anyway shut happened n now I'm trapped in the infinite BSOD of auto repair buh i can't even find my administrator account in all this

i did the restore point step and it told me the system restore failed and then it rebooted my computer and my computer seems fine now. Im scared to shut off my computer now. Is this normal?

HELLO TECH! Am an avid Subscriber, you are my first 'Go to' when diagnosing PC issues! I recently built a new Computer in my old Tower with a new Raidmax Vampire 1000W 80 Plus Gold Power Supply, an MSI Z390-A PRO Motherboard with an Intel Pentium Gold Processor G5400 CPU @ 3.7GHz! Next added 64.0 GB DDR4 3200 Ram! Also a ZOTAC GAMING GeForce GTX 1 Video Card! Recently upgraded all my HHD's with an Intel 660p Series M.2 1 TB SSD Drive C and two WD I TB internal SSD's! My Computer now boots up completely for a cold start in 30 seconds!!!! (Once in a while when I turn it on, it Boots into the Bios Screen)!!!(But when I wont to boot into Bios, no matter what key combination I press it wont go into Bios on Command)! Windows will not display on my Digital Monitor but I can see the Bios Screen on another HDMI Output to my 32 inch TV! Am running XMP Mode and Gaming Mode on the MSI along with allocating 3/4 of my Ram to Process my Adobe Premiere 2022! My Question is: How do I get the computer to Boot into Windows EVERY TIME? And secondly, How do I get my computer to boot into Bios on command?

@@ZachLF i had to reformat mine. since in my case I accidentally unplugged the charger as my laptop was updating, therefore the update was interrupted halfway, corrupting my files.

Posting this in case someone else has the same experience.
I did almost all five of these fixes (except for boot config and restore registry), including the system restore point (it gave me the pop up at 2:25 saying the system restore was completed successfully but then, when I restarted, I got another BSOD). So nothing worked. Tried a few other things after that, including check disk, but still nothing. Then I turned off my computer for a day, came back today, and I got the same BSOD "Critical_Service_Failed". Then it did the automatic repair loop once, restarted, then it booted up again and it said "Getting windows ready". I had never seen that before. After a few minutes, it seems like everything was back to normal. I could log into my computer again, all my files and programs were there, and even though it didn't work last night, when I logged in this morning, I got the confirmation shown at 2:34 that the system restore worked.... even though it didn't last night...
But I'm not sure what actually fixed it... any ideas?

Update: I decided to go back into the bios to check if the problem was secure boot. After I restarted, I got a message saying "Your PC/Device needs to be repaired. at this point I was fine just resetting, but after going back into the recovery environment, I saw the reset option, and a whole lot of other options were not there. Somebody please help!

Even though I tried changing it to "z", it came up with: BSFVC Error: BCD strings MUI load failure c:\ windows\system32\boostr.dll (2). BSFVC Error: Failed to initialize global state. For me, when i check the list vol option, volume 0 isn’t labeled recovery, it is labeled Windows-SSD. Is that a problem, and if so, how can i make it a recovery instead of a Windows-SSD?

@@NotfreeZyYT mine’s now perfectly working. None of the options in this video work. You just have to make a bootable usb/flashdrive. Plug it in to your pc/laptop. When the blue screen appears, find the “use a device” option so you can select the bootable drive you made. You’ll a bunch of tutorials like here in yt anyway. Good luck!

Thank you, also you guys might restart and hit F11 to go to the Boot option. Once you get there choose the disk where you have windows installed.
