Completely agree. I don't understand why a lot of movies feature things like couples or best friends that can't manage to live away from each other. I know long distance relays can be quite tough but if you truly love each other ,I'm pretty sure nothing can stop you from breaking up( relationships or friendship). There's also facetime ,why can't they just use that? . It's like they'll die if they don't see each other every 5 seconds. (Its not that hard, coming from someone quite clingy). If my significant other wants to pursue something,I let them and give my fullest support. I can't be there for them physically but they know I'm always rooting . Also, is their relationship really that weak since they can't move far away and still be friends?

@@nupurdakwale9030 I read the first two chapters on Wattpad because I was curious how the writing would be on a book like that and it was surprisingly pretty grounded (not a fanfic, original work). It was completely tolerable and definitely didn't feel as cliched as after's first chapter. I've seen way worse stuff on Wattpad.

The fact that Noah refused to shake Marco's hand at the end of the race and had that dramatic moment (while dressed as a Mario character) made me scream 😂 Who actually takes this stuff seriously? 🤣
Apparently, that's the logic of this movie. Everyone, with the possible exceptions of Chloe, Rachel and Linda, Elle's dad's girlfriend, act more like grown toddlers than actual people.
Is no one going to talk about how the movie's poster has THE END OF AN ERA all dramatically written on top of it. Like, WAT ERA? ITS JUST A TRILOGY OF INCREASINGLY SENSELESS MOVIES 😭

@@fatoumatacisse3796 his character has had growth all 3 movies. He went from being a toxic and angry boy to a Harvard man (how he got into Harvard idek) who doesn't hit Marco despite him being attacked first. Elle and Lee legit have this moment of growth in every movie where they realize their rules are toxic yet still repeat the same conflict.
it still shocks me to see these 30 years old men playing high school seniors and college freshmen, especially when they're "fighting" for a girl who looks 15 years old
Lee is probably the worst character in the entire series. He’s so toxic and controlling and throws a tantrum because “wah my brother gets everything he wants and I don’t boohooo” like??? Really? After the first movie, I would of liked to see better character growth but he’s exactly the same throughout the series and it’s just stupid. The friendship rules seem very one-sided and also just stupid, like seriously rules made when they were kids, hardly stay relevant as they grow older. I would of liked to see them either change/adapt the rules, sit down together and work it out, it would of showed growth and maturity or even better, them agreeing to scrap the rules and just agree to be the best friends they can be to each other and to always have each other’s backs but let go of the silly rigid structure. Half the rules really seemed to serve Lee and favour him over Elle, she seemed to get the short end of the stick in pretty much every situation. Lee gets mad when Elle hangs out with Noah but he goes and hangs out with Rachel and lies to Elle about it, and then Rachel tries to communicate that she wants more one-on-one time with Lee and instead of just going to Elle and talking to her about it and working it out, he just decides to lie and fakes an injury instead to give himself an excuse. Like what? I know it’s a drama movie so they need conflict but it’s just ridiculous and annoying to watch. He could of literally just told her and worked out a way to spend his time equally, it’s not that hard. But honestly Elle’s character wasn’t great either, she annoyed me. She constantly lied, hid things instead of communicating and just putting her foot down and not apologising for doing what she wants. If she had of been honest from the start it would of saved drama. She does it at the end of the first movie and it’s good, but then the next two movies she seems to revert back to her old ways and let’s everyone push her around. Just feels like a step backwards. She liked Noah and wanted to be with him, she should of just gone to Lee and told him that and told him to suck it. If he’s her best friend, sure he’d sulk a bit but eventually he’d get over it and realise that it’s her life and it’s not his business who she dates. Which is what happens anyway but it would of been nicer to see some maturity and communication. And this is more of a writing thing but I hate the overdone “I’m not like other girls” trope in every movie and the “the popular girls are all girly and like makeup and fashion so they must automatically be bitchy and mean, but I’m cool because I don’t care about that and I like sports and I play video games hehe I’m so quirky” it’s so boring! And it’s so stupid and it just makes the characters so one-dimensional. The writers are going for relatable but they end up doing the opposite in my opinion. Like why is girls playing video games a big deal? Why do movies keep pushing in our faces that if you play video games as a girl you must be super different, and all the guys automatically love you because of it. It doesn’t even make sense. Like just normalise gaming for all people regardless of what sex they happen to be, it’s not even a big deal.
Same on all that you wrote, you would say that every character could have grown and be more mature after the first movie, but the writers chose to do the same problem over and over in the other movies: Elle tries to chose something for herself, immature and selfish Lee gets annoyed and blames Elle for “ruining” his life, and Noah just exists lol Also I think Lee’s the one that always brings the stupid rules and mostly on his favor and it’s so hypocrite, like he was mad and throw a tantrum when found out that Elle and his brother were dating or that Elle could go to another college, but it was ok with him lying to Rachel and Elle like ???? I agree that Elle it’s not the best obviously, she lacks a lot of communication but the way I see it she’s, most of the time, being manipulated by Lee
None of the Characters have actually a personality. I've never Seen any of them doing some alone time stuff Like Reading or some random Hobby. Lee and Elle's personalities are beeing besties, Noah is the Bad Boy Boyfriend with motorcycle, Lees Girlfriend is Just the Girlfriend, Chloe is Just a friend, Marco is Just some Dude they need for some Drama w a guitar and then Theres the Side Characters.
Yes and no. LA is definitely better overall for anything that's artsy ish entertainment, but there are certain genres of music that do work better and get more hype in NYC like Indy Rock and Jazz.
So, I was at school the other day, and I started talking to a girl that I don't really like, but for some reason I also want to get along, and she told me that she CRIED with this movie... I haven't talked to her since that day
apparently Elle's actress said in an interview that "Elle should have chosen Marco" but honestly, the better thing to say would have been that Marco should have ran away from Elle the moment he got the chance. She's literally so overdramatic and always plays the victim.
Yeah, Marco could’ve done better and I’m just glad he left for New York. Now he can move on and get in a relationship that’s not as toxic as what he could’ve had with Elle. Elle should’ve stayed single, as well as Noah.
Fr. Plus Elle only seemed to use him as emotional support. Everytime things went wrong with Noah, she’d vent to Marco but as soon as their relationship improved she’d ditch him 🥲
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the scene where Lee drives off to Berkeley, leaving Elle behind, and three girls and three boys randomly appear behind them to dramatically represent all the years they spent together. It was a very cheesy, way over-the-top dramatic scene that was very awkward to watch.
they made 3 movies in which Elle is the main character and her whole life practically revolves around 2 boys. high school, college, summers, everything. they should have made the 3rd film about her trying to find herself, to be her own person without always trying to please Noah and Lee with her decisions
also find it weird that he wasnt bothered his fucking gf was going to a different college but had a goddamn meltdown his best friend wasnt. i get they are besties. but still pretty weird
the funniest part for me is that the characters apparently can only spend the rest of their life with only one other character. lee can only spend time with either elle or rachel and elle can only spend time with either lee or noah. they are all forced to choose between them, like no one says: "ok half of my time with her and the other half with him"
Elle's decision to study videogame design reminded me of when Bella Swan announced she was going to study marine biology after high school, in booth instances the awkwardness is because their interest on those things is never properly established (in the movies, at least, maybe in the Twilight books there's countless paragraphs of Bella resting her head on Edward's lap while talking about how mysterious and fascinating the deep sea is)
To be fair, Elle’s love of DDR is established very early on in the first movie and was a major plot point of the second one... though that’s like 1 game and I agree they should have established her interest in video games more.
Makes me think of how Jotaro Jostar from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure gets his PhD in... marine biology, actually... very suddenly, at the very end of the fourth season.
@@ApprenticeNick I hasn't watched JoJo's Bizarre Adventure since the old OVAs, but I had seen Stone Ocean memes about Jotaro being obsessed with dolphins, so at least seems like it became part of his character after that clunky revelation

Just show us that guys aren't always after the MC and things happening naturally for once, movies!
What annoyed me the most about the thrid part was that they wanted the viewer to kind of connect and feel sentimental about a beach house we haven't seen once in any of the movies with all those memories from Elle and Lee at this place and whatever but like, I haven't seen this house once, it's not like I connect to that place like idk, the cast from One Tree Hill coming back to the river court one last time.
@@deepanshu1955 yeah but I don't think they should have done it by using the house. They should have developed her passion for gaming bc it kinda falls flat at the end of the movie ... That would have made her more relatable, I think.

5:26 Would've been funny if they jumped down there and it just cut to Elle's funeral which would just be Lee whining how she keeps ruining his happiness
Lee was so controlling, he never put his best friend, girlfriend or brother first when they were all so afraid of hurting his feelings and he didn't care.
Kissing Booth 4: Main couple have graduated and are getting married in New York. Annoying best friend is best man but also party planner. Elle runs into Marco at her bachelorette party.

@@Yandolito if he did the kissing booth first then it was probably because he needed a break out many actors do jobs they find cringe for the next opportunity it can open. but he then got that with euphoria so still being stuck with the old avenge Netflix character vs a complex character with an Emmy winning actress it can be something he just wants to evolve from.
@@naominwabueze4209 Yeah, that's probably why. The money must be good
The only person in the main 3 who made any sensible decision in this movie is literally Noah when he broke up with Elle.

I couldn't agree more
Same on all that you wrote, you would say that every character could have grown and be more mature after the first movie, but the writers chose to do the same problem over and over in the other movies: Elle tries to chose something for herself, immature and selfish Lee gets annoyed and blames Elle for “ruining” his life, and Noah just exists lol
Also I think Lee’s the one that always brings the stupid rules and mostly on his favor and it’s so hypocrite, like he was mad and throw a tantrum when found out that Elle and his brother were dating or that Elle could go to another college, but it was ok with him lying to Rachel and Elle like ????
I agree that Elle it’s not the best obviously, she lacks a lot of communication but the way I see it she’s, most of the time, being manipulated by Lee

Also the fact that Lee and Noah are brothers makes the whole thing even more stupid. Is he planning on never seeing his brother again?
Elle's decision to study videogame design reminded me of when Bella Swan announced she was going to study marine biology after high school, in booth instances the awkwardness is because their interest on those things is never properly established (in the movies, at least, maybe in the Twilight books there's countless paragraphs of Bella resting her head on Edward's lap while talking about how mysterious and fascinating the deep sea is)
To be fair, Elle’s love of DDR is established very early on in the first movie and was a major plot point of the second one... though that’s like 1 game and I agree they should have established her interest in video games more.

Marco wants to go from making a music career in LA to going to New York for the same thing he could do in LA. This movies logic is something
Ikr? He literally didn't even have to move to a different part of LA. He could've made his own music in his room while still living with his family. Hell, he could've done that regardless of where he lived. We have TH-cam, SoundCloud, etc. What's he gonna do in New York that he can't do in LA?
@@mynameisreallycool1 maybe he has better opportunities there?
@@JohnDomalaon maybe a love onterest xD
Noah holding the fart face is just one of the most accurate and consistent things throughout the movie😂😂😂 and can we just acknowledge the fact that lee is just a grown up man child … like the dude had the most intense and Fullon outburst just cause el didn’t show up on this arcade game thing. It was so hilarious to me for some reason 😅

For me it was when he threw a tantrum about Elle getting with his brother. So pathetic, you'd think he was in love with Elle the way he acted.
Rich kid problems lol
@@RedRoseSeptember22 well because he knew they all grew up together and it was uncomfortable for him lol 😂
Is it just me or Rachel is too good for them , like she’s underrated 😭
th-cam.com/video/Cmp1R7frXWw/w-d-xo.html
totally! and chloe too
Rachel is the only matured one out of all of them lmao
She’s not more mature. She kept getting back on the roller coaster over and over in the first one. Also, she has no personality and doesn’t add much to the story. May as well not exist.
Rachel, Chloe, Mrs. Flynn and Elle's dad were the best characters and also annoyingly underrated.
The kissing booth 3:
70% montage
30% awful plot
Also as much as I don’t like Elle, Lee is just as bad-if not *worse* oml. He is so devoted to that stupid list of rules they created when they were younger. I was pretty happy when Elle told him off for being so immature and needing to grow up and look past the stupid rules. Also, marco and the other girls appearances in the movie were so unnecessary and boring to the plot. I honestly half watched this as background noise. You only needed to watch like parts of the movie to fully predict the ending.
I want a spinoff movie where it's just Rachel and Chloe because those are the only two characters in this franchise that deserve any love
they should date
@@alexandra-roxanasincovita8665 I absolutely agree
Still waiting for their spin-off series where they have their lesbian/bi/pan/anything relationship and runaway to the woods and live a cottage core life.

AND she literally told lee the jump game "is just a game" when literally they been doing it for years and its how she got money for college. why would lee not be upset that he got stood up. ALSOOOO elle always promised that she would go to his school and it's pretty heartbreaking to get it tooken away by your own brother. sooo for lee being mad for good reasons he is toxic and all the bad stuff??

Wait so Marco is already in LA where most music everything is located and he decides New York is where he should go?
I meaann theres an amazing underground jazz seen in New York and you can find actual diverse interesting music there. LA is more for the shitty pop route
Doesn't seem like he was into jazz though...

Fun fact, most scenes are shot in Cape Town or in the Western Cape Province of South Africa, where I live. Feels surreal that I've been to some of these places where they filmed. But yeah, the plot of the movie is ridiculous but I can't help but have a soft spot for it too.
Coolness, it must be a little surreal to see your hometown on screen.
I didn't know that! This movie is ridiculous, but Cape Town is amazing. :)
Omg I didn't know that. I live in Cape Town too!
I'm Kenyan so any time I see Africa on the screen it's a win for me .. thanks for letting us know
Hawu kodwa. We have enough problems as a nation hle.
My annoyance with this movie is that Elle got into Harvard AND Berkeley, turned both school down, and easily gets accepted into USC. Hello? Is this even realistic? She was too boy crazy for the whole entire series and barely showed up for class, but she still managed to get into 3 top universities in the US. Bruh. 🙄
